The Official Ho-oh Topic

Dragonair

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Since there's so many Ho-oh topics on the board, I figured this topic needs to exist.

Who's Ho-oh?
Ho-oh is National Dex #250, and it is in fact one of the Tier 1 pokemon, having the base stats all equal 680. For more stat/move/ect info, go here: http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-rs/250.shtml

Getting Ho-oh

There are two things you need to do in order for you to get Ho-oh, in order:

1. Catch and Purify all 48 shadow pokemon.
2. Defeat the Colosseum mode Mt. Battle, on either 1v1 or 2v2 mode..

If you absolutely want to start on Mt. Battle first, you can do so if you purify all shadow pokemon before you beat the 100th trainer. The shadow pokemon do not include the e-card pokemon by the way. After you defeat the 100th trainer on Mt. Battle with all pokemon purified, you get your tickets, then a nice screen showing Ho-oh appears. Check your box in your Scenario game, and you will have a Ho-oh there.

If you're looking to do the seemingly too-hard-to-do Mt. Battle and use Groudon or Kyogre, you will still get Ho-oh, just with a 15% decrease in tickets for each legendary you use.

Mod/Smod/Admins, if you think something should be included in this topic, please do so.

Feel free to ask questions.

You said you can use Groudon and Kyogre to get Ho-oh but for each legendary you use, you don't get 85 % of the poke coupons. Does that mean if I use Groudon AND Kyogre, I don't get any tickets, or do I lose tickets?

That means you lose tickets. Say I battled the first ten Trainers, and went to collect coupons. Since you get 100 Coupons there, you will instead get 85 coupons. It gets even lower for each legendary you happen to use.

Before the first post was edited, it said you lose 85% of the tickets. That made me wonder if you use 2 legendaries do you get -70 percent of the tickets you have stored already (85x2=170, so you'd get -170%).

But it has been fixed now. I thought losing 85% of the tickets for one legendary was a bit...extreme!

What about natures? What nature is it? Is it random? can you get it turn game off and try again?

You can't find out its nature without saving the game first. And since you can't get another one, you'll just have to live with what you get.

Also, its original trainer is MATTLE, a male trainer (forgot the ID number). Unfortunately, you don't have a chance to rename your Ho-oh, so if nicknames are your thing, then this Ho-oh isn't for you...

Awww, I want to get a good natured one or else it is just a decorative pokemon......

I do want to train it. The id # is 10048

Ho-oh boy do I have a question! (I know, bad pun, sorry).

If I trade a team into the Col. Story Mode from my Ruby game and register it in the Battle Mode, will the game "remember" it in Battle Mode if I trade the Story Mode team back to my Ruby game?

Or do I have to keep the team in the Story Mode until I get Ho-oh?

Get strong pokemon from your gba cart if you want to. After all, that is why you can trade pokemon between them.

Bleh, random question.
What does the Mt. Battle Master for Colosseum Mode use? I heard rumors about Kyogre, Groudon, and Jirachi...

I have a Ho-oh question.....I read in a the Nintendo guide that you need to have an empty spot in your party to have Ho-oh join you after battling in mt Battle Battle mode? Is this true??? I thought you needed six in your party to compete...and then Ho-oh would go to your pc in story mode??? Can anyone clear this up? I am purifying the last of my shadows right now and would like to make sure I do this right the first time when I get to Mt Battle! Thanks!

It goes to your PC in the Story Mode.

@Tyrannitar: Maybe it's different at other people, but I can only remember a Kyogre. Some trainers had Jirachi and Groudon, but not the last one.
