Its more than likely just going to be the new legendary pokémon that will play some sort of significant role during the film.
And thus, when its image is released, all the teaser posters will be updated with new artwork featuring said pokémon. They did the exact same thing for Luca and next month seems like a decent enough time to get the ball rolling.
I just hope it doesn't turn out to be another fish-based thing. A Kraken or some other squid-like creature would be cool I guess~
It would be weird to have two huge water monsters as tthe two legendaries... Throughout the movies, the Pokemon haven't been similar that much, trios put aside.
1) Mewtwo and Mew, bigish and smallish.
2) Lugia and Zapdos/Moltres/Articuno, this is the only exception
3) Entei and Unknown, little letter things and a giant cat
4) Celebi and Suicune, a small fairy and a giant cat
5) Latios and Latias, this doesn't count, because they are a pair
6) Jirachi and Groudon and Absol, fairy, giant, dog like thing
7) Deoxys and Rayquaza, DNA shaped 7ish foot tall thing, giant dragon
8) Mew and Lucario and Regice/Registeel/Regirock, smallish and largeish and golems
9) Kyogre, new Pokemon: I doubt it will be large, probably the fairy of the 4th generation or a Pokemon like Absol... Possibly one from a trio, if they are diverse enough like the Beasts.
