The "Official" UnOfficial Medal Guide

This Guide is similar to the Console and PC “Achievement” guides you can find online.

Due to Many Medals being “extended” versions of the other Medals, many Medal guides will appear after its “Hardest” version.

Many of the Counts for certain medals can be check via Various NPCs or other visible Locations such C-Gear, Battle Recorder and Pokédex. Many “random” Medals are statuses noted by the third assistant in Join Avenue.

Some topics may already have Sections in the forum suited to certain helping you get other Medals.

As Many Medals I don't have, I've just given them Difficulty rating based on comments. Due to the Fact that the Global Link/Dream World has shut down, and Nintendo Wifi Service for DS/DSi games will be withdrawn. I will note the Medals that will no longer be obtainable, and many of those that have gotten alot harder to due to the lack of Wifi.

The Order of Medals shown here should be the same as you get when you select "Order by Type" after tapping the Magnifying Glass icon, or Start Button.

Steel-type Champ
Hard
Win the Pokémon League with only Steel-type Pokémon.

Several types of moves have no effect on the Elite 4 and the Champ, so be prepared and build parties take down their teams. Using Pokémon that are at Level 100 can help for this challenge as you could be facing Pokémon in the early Level 80s. If you have a party that all have the same two types, you can earn two medal for that run if you have not obtain them both yet. Your Party does not have to be full, it can be done on one Pokémon.

One and Only
Very Hard
Win the Pokémon League with only one Pokémon in the party.

This is the most risky challenge of the lot. Unlike previous 17, where you could switch Pokémon and use Baton Passers, you only have one Pokemon. In this case you’ll need to make sure that you don’t faint, as you’ll have to start again. Having a Level 100 Pokémon is probably the only way, if didn’t choose solo the Elite 4 the first time. You can do a run for this and obtain type medals at the same time. For example: An Articuno solo run could unlock Ice-type, Flying Type and One and Medals at the same time.

Supreme Challenger

Magnemite Coil?

This is not Medal or anything to with it, but a Fan made event. It's the one of the faster ways to get trades done faster and more people in the Join Avenue and sometimes the Dream World. This makes the Several Medals Easier to get, and indirectly help get certain medals easier.

Heres the Guide from GameFAQs forums: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/661226-pokemon-black-version-2/64347250
Step 1) Catch 2-3 wild Magnemites. Natures, stats, and other info doesn't matter.
Step 2) Put one of your Magnemites up for trade in the Global Trade Station (GTS) and ask for any other Magnemite in return.
Step 3) While waiting for this trade to go through, go on the GTS again and search for the Magnemites of other trainers who are participating in the Coil. Trade one of your other Magnemites for this one.
Step 4) After both trades go through, you should have two new Magnemites from two different trainers, and also more visitors in your Join Avenue.
Step 5) Simply do the process over and over by repeatedly trading your newly-acquired Magnemites for new ones on the GTS. After enough time in the cycle, you may have seen 20-30 different Magnemites from many different nations across the world!
NOTE) As you trade Magnemites, feel free to attach items that you think could help out other members of the Coil. If you are lucky enough to have contracted the Pokerus in your game, you could even pass that beneficial condition to other trainers through the Magnemite Coil as well!

Advantages:

  • Many of the trading and Join Avenue Medals should complete with ease.
  • You may be able to Speed up the amount of Visitors in the Dream World.
  • Users of BW1 can actually join in and help, but they don't get all the advantages. (W1 users may catch them in White Forest, but otherwise trading and breeding is needed. http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/081.shtml)

Disadvantages:
  • Lack of "Available" Magnemite. - This entire effort actually depends on people actually depositing Magnemite.
  • Search results are delayed - Due to a GTS Server "optimization" technique, it's possible get all the Magnemite Coil Pokémon say "This Pokémon is already Traded," when selected, even if you "refresh" your search.
  • This is a Fan Event so this could easily die out.
  • Join Avenue has a limit of 12 "Visitors" (It's recommended you guide your fans first, before trading.)
  • Join Avenue will only let same "visitor" visit only one per day.

Alternate "Coil" Pokemon.
Unova Starters
Eevee
Dratini

Sadly no Deino Coil. (Sorry, those who visit Alt Anime forums may get the joke.)

Finally, Magenemite Coil does not have the Serebii "Seel of Approval."

After May 2014, GTS will be closed, so this addition to the "guide" is no longer applicable, but kept for the sake of completeness.

After May 2014, Nintendo will turn off Wifi services for all DS games, This will mean that an additional 4 Medals will no longer available to obtain, bringing the total up to 12 unobtainable medals. Many other Medals are still obtainable, as Wifi use only made getting the Medals easier.

Several Console Games online already have "impossible" Trophies/Achievements due to Servers going down. For Example: Several sports games such has Fifa 09, on the PS3/360 have confirmed by Trophy Hunters/Achievement Hunters to be impossible to complete certain Trophies/Achievements due to the Servers being shut down. In many cases, a Press release was given some time before the actual shut down.

Okay. For SignBoard Savvy, it's not the signs you need to look it, it's Trainer Tip signs. This can simply be done by reading the grayish dark signs found on almost every route (some small ones like Route 12 don't have one.) As for the Tag Log ones, it has to be up to 100 different trainers. I guess it might work if you make multiple file restarts, but regularly, it works like Spiritomb did in DPPt. And Pokerus Discover and Lucky Color do work when traded into the game. I got it when I traded over my boxed Pokerus and Shiny pokemon from White. As for the participant and host medals they are spot on with how to obtain them. On a side note, please don't think of the post as rude. I'm just trying to emphasize some points by making the words that are in bold and such.

Hi. I'm kinda interested in the challenge medels, but I'm wondering...

Can the Pokemon you choose be duel types (normal-flying) and such, or does it have to be single types only?

Nice to to know.. That's works out to roughly 1 in every 34 Drinks Purchased.

I may need to change the Signs, but haven't really got all the time do the actual testing.

I am assuming given the Tag log counts are like DPPt's Spirtomb's counter, on my Black 1 and Black 2 is the counter for this. I've got about 13 each from 5 other games. I'm only going confirm it when I get the medal for 30.

Glad to know about those Pokérus and Shiny, I've been considering bring over one of my "Shiny Gerbils" from 4th gen after infecting it with PKRS (if I still have it).

Actually, your post is not rude. I just added just in case to limit really unhelpful posts. I've not actually stated it as a rules.
Hi. I'm kinda interested in the challenge medels, but I'm wondering...

Considering that Only 1 Pokémon can be considered Pure flying type so I assume you should be able to beat with 6 dual type Pokémon that all share 1 type. I'm actually wanting confirmation myself actually.

Dual types do work for the Type champ medals. I don't know for sure if it has to be their first type, but you should get the medal as long as the entire team is the same type.

Find graffiti behind a sign. Only a few signs actually allow you to walk behind, so read both sides of that sign.

I would assume the graffiti is in the same place on all games, and if it is, I've found it on the sign between Accumula Town Straiton and Route 2.

Edit: I'm an idiot and forgot where the sign was apparently.

Have a Pokémon Fossil restored at the Nacrene Museum. The hard part is finding a Fossil, which a Man in Twist Mountain will give you one per day, after you beat the Champion.

This one should be easy. Lenora gives you a choice of Unova Fossils once you take a couple more steps into the museum.

Wailord Watcher
Unknown
See a Wailord at the Marine Tube. (I may need Skitty for this one.)

Should probably be easy - it appears around 3 pm.

What the hell does "Unfficial" mean? Is it some new item in BW2?
Typo.. I've Fixed it now.. only Possible with Mod powers!

Dual types do work for the Type champ medals. I don't know for sure if it has to be their first type, but you should get the medal as long as the entire team is the same type.

Until someone can actually confirm it, given that most sites state Flying-type being Secondary except in the one case that I linked to above, I'm going to guess as long they all share a common type I assume they can be used.

Wait a sec... where? In the tube that is. Ex. First part, Chasm, Second part. Scratch that. Just saw one in the chasm area. So they do appear around 3 P.M. Someone should make a note of that so everyone else can know.

You need to participate in a total of 138 musicals to get 10 fans.

Also, getting a good review in a musical is extremely easy if you follow the basic rule of using four accessories that fit the musical's theme, two of another type that don't fit its theme, and one each of the two remaining types. So, for the first musical, you can go with four cool accessories, two cute ones, one unique, and one elegant.

From there, you're basically guaranteed to get the second highest rating (Which is sufficient for the medal) as long as you appeal at a good time.

Confirming this: I also found it on the same sign (about 10 minutes before I saw this post).

It's the first sign you see entering Route 2 from Striaton.

From what I can tell, there is no "Memory Master" medal, unless there are some Memory Link cutscenes only available via WiFi, which I can't access. As far as the in-game ones go, I know I have them all and have them all viewed with no medal to show for it, except for the Beginning of the Memory medal for watching the first one.

For the photoboard one, you have to put your face behind the right side with the female Frillish in order to receive the medal.

Oh, also, the Catching Spree and 30 Boxed medals can be easily achieved via PokéTransfer, if you transfer over hordes of Pokémon at a time within a single day. Lucky Color will also unlock if you transfer over your HGSS red Gyarados or any randomly-caught shiny from DPPtHGSS.

Either look harder, or you've missed something.

You've done all these?

I've done all but the Loblolly thing, because I can't access the DW. The rest I've done.

Edit: Unless I'm missing random people on roads who mention my White1 character by name and don't trigger a cutscene.

I just checked, and I can recieve the Memory Master medal. I haven't done the Loblolly part, nor battled Cheren. I wonder why it's not working for you... have you checked the list on your memory link menu? Perhaps you need to do that to get the medal. *shrug*

Also, I didn't check about recieveing the medal, but I was able to take a picture behind both the male and female heads. I'd go and recheck, but it's a pain because I haven't been picking up my medals. I wish it would give you all of what you've earned in one go.
