COMIC AWARDS​

:: HOW IT WORKS

1) Any user may SUBMIT their choices for nominations of the following categories listed, one choice per category. NOMINATIONS MUST BE SENT THROUGH PRIVATE MESSAGE TO BLUEGUY, MASTERCOUGAR, CONTROLLER OF FLAMES OR MS! POSTED NOMINATIONS WILL NOT COUNT! A panel of judges (blueguy, MS, Mastercougar and Controller of Flames) will discuss the nominations and decide which users' nominations shall be counted as valid, and which shall not, based upon the user's credibility and standing within the community.

NOMINATIONS MUST BE SENT BY SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19th, OR THEY WILL NOT COUNT! WHEN SENDING NOMINATIONS PLEASE INCLUDE THE PROPER TITLE, AUTHOR, AND (IF POSSIBLE) A LINK! IT'LL SAVE THE JUDGES A LOT OF TROUBLE!

2) Nominations will be counted and evaluated for an undetermined amount of time. When the ballot is finalized this thread will be closed, and a new thread with the nominees will be posted. Until then, this thread shall serve as a discussion thread for speculation etc.

3) The final thread with nominees will be posted. Voting will begin.


:: ADDITIONAL RULES

- No one may vote for or nominate their own work.
- A new comic is defined as one began within the last year of this thread.
- A new comic may win both Best New Comic and Best Comic.
- Judges can vote and nominate, as long as they are in accordance with the first rule.
- Judges wishing to vote/nominate should send their choices to another judge.
- Votes/nominations CANNOT be changed after they are submitted.
- When nominating or voting, you do not have to choose for every category, if you don't want to.

No. Creators can neither vote or nominate their own work. I will go and specify that right now. Thanks for catching that.

Sent. It was pretty hard, as I can't remember the good comics of 2005 as great as I used too.

I nomonated the right comics though. I think my "Best Duo/Team" deserves to win. am i rite?

Maybe this time I'll get a nomonation *remembers last time* -_-;.
I'd rather Blueguy than Munation anyday.

Heh, well it's nice that we are to the point of constant events going on here. If you deserve a nomination you will get it Davis. I had forseen that there wouldn't be a contest this month (since I am directly interfereing with my prediction though that is up in the air), but this will suffice enough hehe. I need to meditate on some of these...

Yes, we do need to events to liven up the forum, and keep people interested. Awards are really fun, and since the last one sucked, or so I've heard, I thought that a good one should be organized. It's been in the works for a long time, but it just never happened... Your psychic abilities are a little off this month? XD I was busy with exams (thank god, they're done) too. I can't wait.

EDIT - Let it be known that I have sent in MY nominations! I won't give away everything, but two mangas got quite a few of my choices.

What are you talking about? Asking you to judge? What happens is that people send you nominations. We're not going to be "judging" until after it's all done. But it is a good idea to clear out old PM's. And the idea got canned because no one took initiative. -_-

I'd like to announce that two more categories have been axed: Best Punchline (again, too hard to define), and Best Dialogue/Wording (as it is pretty much the same as storyline).

Very few of the choices have been seconded. In fact there are only three categories in which one HAS been seconded. We need your nominations, people! Send them in now!

-_- I'm sort of disappointed, actually... I was sort of anticipating something bigger and better. I think I'm actually going to extend the nominations period, because we are in need of more nominations. I've received enough... but not so much that there are major contenders that will compete against each other. In most cases there is one comic that has more nominations.

Here's a tip on organizing any event... Hype it up like none other.

Ultilize the club to the maximum, PM your friends, etc. Also keeping the thread active will grab more people's attention.

When you do get skilled enough as an event hoster you won't even need to advertise people will just flock to you. Trust me I've been hosting events such as contests and tournaments for the past five years and I got hired somewhere as an event administrator.

Credentials aside this is what is to be expected with new events. These things will not attract too many people unless they are hyped up. Spur of the moment things don't always get good turnout.
