The phone number on my Game Boy...

In the battery cover on my Game Boy, there is a phone number there that allows installation, maintenance or service(Customer service, I guess.), but due to the age of the GB, Nintendo no longer allows factory repairs. So that leaves me to think-- will the phone number still work regardless? If so, would it work only for the new systems as the official customer service number?

i guess the only way to know is to check,
although i bet the phone number is dead by now.
