Arceus isn't god. Nintendo could never brand arceus as god, since this would be blasimus to most religions and spark a fire, like the protests from the christian church not long after reds release. And im sure arceus is the creater of Sinnoh, just like kyogre and groundon created hoenn.
The pokemon industry will continue as long as its a profit to nintendo. like superlugia said they wont throw a million dollor francise away.

They continued after Mew, so I'm sure they'll be continuing after Arceus.
Why would they give up now? They have gotten so far.
