This is my first AAMayL... well actually my first fic ever so I hope you like it.
I hope it was long enough to, it certainly was to me.

The Power of the Orbs
Chapter one


On a deserted, Legendary Island we find the two evil teams, Team Magma and Team Aqua, fighiting near a strange alter.

“I can guess why you are here,” said a tall burly man, who had an A insignia on his shirt. “You’re here for the blue orb aren’t you?”

“Your correct but, I know why you’re here as well,” said a tall average size man, who had an M insignia on his shirt. “You’re here for the red orb”

“Maxie, The orbs will be activating soon!” anounced team Magma admin Harlan.

“We have to hurry before they activate,” yelled Maxie as he started running toward the Orb Alter. “After they activate, they will be vurnerable to touch and we cant allow anyone to get them.”

“So you know the legend too Maxie? Once they activate their electric barrier disappears and whichever orb is touched first, it will cause one of the two titan pokemon to awaken, as the other orb will vanish into dust.” “We can’t allow anyone including you to grab the blue orb!” Archie said as he gave off an evil smirk.

“Archie, ten minutes till the orbs activate!” said team Aqua admin Isabel.

“So Maxie, whats it gonna be? Turn around and leave or face your doom?” said Archie while holding a white and red ball.

“Its gonna be none of those!” said Maxie also holding a white and red ball.

“Fine then, have it your way.” “Go Sharpedo!” yelled Archie as he threw his pokeball into the air releasing a rough skined, Shark pokemon.

“Ok Archie, bring it on!” “Go Camerupt!” yelled Maxie as he also threw his pokeball, releasing an enormous, Firey Camel pokemon.

“Sharpedo, hydro pump attack!” commanded Archie.

Sharpedo then fires a huge blast of water and sends it straight toward Camerupt.

“Camerupt, use rock tomb around yourself!” screamed Maxie”

Camerupt then shot multiple rocks around him, caving himself up.

The hydro pump hits the rocks with Camerupt safe inside.

“Now Camerupt use dig and come right under Sharpedo!” Ordered Maxie.

Camerupt dug its way underground and was headed towards Sharpedo.

“Sharpedo look out!” called Archie.

Sharpedo looked down at the moving dirt but, before he knew what happened he was sent into the air and slamed against the ground. Sharpedo was down for the count.

“Well Archie, still want to continue our pointless battle?” anounced Maxie.

“Sharpedo return.” Said Archie with as he sent Sharpedo back into the ball, while making angry expression on his face. “The battle is just starting.” “Go Walrein!” yelled Archie as he released a big, blubery Walrus pokemon from its ball.

“An Ice pokemon, this is to easy” said Maxie with confidence. “Camerupt Flamethrower!”

Camerupt then opened his mouth fireing a blast of burning flames toward Walrein.

“You think you’ve won but, I’ve got something up my sleave.” Said Archie with an evil grin. “Walrein surf attack!”

Walrein then created a powerful wall of water sending at the flamethrower. When the two attacks colided, the flamethrower turned into nothing except steam. As the water wall was still headed toward Camerupt, Maxie was beginning to fear.

“Camerupt, use rock tomb around yourself hurry!” yelled Maxie.

Camerupt caved itself in its rocks once again, when the water wall hit it broke all the rocks and sent Camerupt whirling about in the water. Camerupt was out and unable to battle any longer.

“No, Camerupt!” Maxie screamed. “Return now” he said as Camerupt was absorbed back into the ball.
Archie, as long as I have a single breath in me I wont give up” “Aggron go!” he yelled as he released a gigantic, steel armored pokemon.

“So its down to our last pokemon” said Archie while laughing.

“Yeah and to your doom” Maxie called back.

“Now Walrein surf with all of your inner energy!” Archie yelled as if he were sure victory was around the corner.

“Aggron, Earthquake with all of your might!” Maxie yelled as he too felt victory at hand.

Both pokemon let off their attacks, a giant wall of water and a powerful earthquake.

The two attacks didn’t colide as the water traveled above and the quake below toward their targets.

“NO!” Maxie and Archie said in unison as the attacks colided with each of their pokemon.

Aggron and Walrein were both down and out.

“The orbs have just activated!” Yelled Magma admin Harlan and Aqua admin Isabel in unison.

“To the blue orb!” yelled Maxie.

“Lets go get the red orb before they get theirs!” commanded Archie.

“Maxie, his Magma troops, Archie and his Aqua troops were all running to the Orb Alter. Some of each group on different teams were pushing eachother out of the way, smaking eachother, and triping eachother up. Finally they all came to the Alter.

Maxie and Archie were the only two, close enough to grab the orbs. Maxie touched the blue orb at the same time that Archie touched the red orb. Both of them started glowing and both imediately had a vision.

Maxie saw a vision of a boy about five feet tall, wearing a blue shirt and jeans, a red hat and a Pikachu on his back. “What does this mean?” thought Maxie as a strange voice began to speak. “This boy has been chosen as the only one who can activate the blue orb’s power and unleash the Titan of Earth.” said the strange voice. “What is his name?” Maxie called out. “Ash Ketchum.” replied the voice as Maxie’s vision suddenly stopped and he was back in front of the Alter.

At the same time Maxie was having his vision, Archie too was having a vision. Archie saw a girl about four feet nine inches, wearing a red shirt, black and white shorts and a red bandana on her head. “What could this mean?” Thought Archie as he too heard a strange voice. “This girl has been chosen as the only one who can activate the red orb’s power and unleash the Titan of Water.” Said the voice. “Who is she?” called out Archie. “May Maple.” Replied the voice as Archie’s vision slowely disappeared and he noticed he was back in front of the Alter as well.

“Sir, are you ok?” asked Magma admin Harlan.

“Yes, I am but, I need you to look up any data about a boy named Ash Ketchum.” commanded Maxie.

“Yes, Sir.” Harlan said as he left to go to their Magma aircraft.

“Archie, is something wrong with you?” asked Aqua admin Isabel.

“No, nothing is wrong but, I need you to get any information you can on a girl named May Maple.” Commanded Archie.

“Affirmative, Sir.” Isabel answered as she left to their Aqua submarine.

As both teams were about to leave, Archie walked up to Maxie and said. “I think you and I know we basically saw the same thing, I will find this girl and when I do you better be prepaired for the return of the Titan of Water. He said.

“You listen to me, when I find this boy you had better prepair to bow to the Titan of Earth.” Maxie answered Archie.

“Ha we’ll see about that.” “Goodbye for now Maxie.” Archie said with a grin, as he turned around and started back to his sub.

Maxie then commanded his troops to get in their aircraft for takeoff.

As both Team Magma and Aqua leave the island, both unaware that the two, Ash and May, are traveling together.

Its looks like trouble is just around the corner for Ash and May.

Sorry there wasn't any shipness in the first chap but, I promise that is soon to come ^_^.
There will be alot of switching between Ash ans co. and Team Magma/Aqua plots.

I'm hoping we'll see more AAMayL soon, as there was none in that chap. However, it's looking good so far, and I'm drooling for more. GIVE ME MORE!!!

Pretty good start Shadow, the plot sounds good so far and the flow was nice as well. Description could of been a bit better though IMO but meh.

There were also a few spelling/grammar here and there that a spellchcker or proofread should catch.

But overall, like I said, pretty good all the same.

Chapter 2


It has been three days since Ash Ketchum won his sixth badge in Fortree City. Today we find Ash, May, Max and Brock traveling through a beautiful forest, with pretty flowers and tall trees everywhere. As they continue they’re journey toward Lilycove City, Max starts to get hungry. “Uh…Brock, when are we gonna eat dinner?” Max asked inpatiently. “I am about to collapse from starvation.” He said as his stomach growled.

May was anoyed by him saying that for the third time “Max, your always hungry.” She said, in an angry tone. “You should have eaten more at lunch but, instead you played with those Bellosom.”

“Ya but, May, they were so nice to me, they danced with me and even made me a crown out of flowers.” He answered back.

May then gave him an angry look “Maybe you should of thought of playing with the, after eating, Max.” she repleid replied.

Brock, hearing this went up to May “May, he is right, its about time we set up camp and prepare for dinner” he anounced.

“Ok, but after lunch, lets go exploring for pokemon.” Ash said, eager to catch more pokemon.

Brock sat down, on the ground and opened his bag to take out his cooking pot. “Ok I need to get a fire burning here so, Ash and Max, I need you two to go find some wood in the forest.” “May, I need you to go to that nearby lake we saw and fill this bucket with water.” Brock said as he handed her a bucket.

“Brock, I wanted to go look for wood with Ash.” She said sadley.

Brock, Ash and Max all looked at her. “Huh?” asked Brock.

“ I-I m-mean, I’d rather go look for wood than to fill the bucket with water,” she said as her face turned a bright red.

May has had a crush on Ash since they first met, however, she never told anyone. She liked to be around Ash but, when she was she would get all nervous and tingly inside. She wants to tell him her secret but is afraid Ash will not feel the way she does. Little did May know that Ash had a crush on her and felt the exact same around her. None of them had ever told eachother their feelings.

Brock looked at her suspiciously. “Well, ok then.” “Max, you can be the one that fills the bucket.” He said to Max.

“Whatever.” he replied, as he grabbed the bucket from May. “She just wants to be with her boyfriend.” He said in a teasing tone.

“Shut up Max!” yelled May, as she blushed again.

“You know its true May.” Max said again while partly laughing.

“Ok, that’s enough Max,” Brock interupted. “Go fill the bucket as I asked.”

“Ok…fine” Maxed replied, as he left the camp and headed toward the lake.

“Well Brock well be back with that wood,” said Ash as he and May headed away from camp.

Meanwhile on Mt. Chimney, which was now Team magma’s base. Magma admin Harlan, who has just gotten information about Ash, was headed to Maxie’s office.
Harlan arrives at the office door and presses the intercom button. “Sir, I need to speak to you.” He anounced

The intercom beep caught Maxie’s attention “Yes, who is it?” asked Maxie sitting at his desk.

“Admin Harlan sir, with requested info on Ash Ketchum.” Harlan answered.

Maxie pressed a button that unlocked the door. “Please, come in” Maxie told him.

Harlan opened the door and walked into an extremely immaculate office. He walked up to Maxie’s desk and sat down in a chair near it. “Sir, I have the file on the Ash Ketchum you requested.” He said as he handed the file to Maxie. “He lives in Pallet town, Kanto but, he is currently on a journey here in Hoenn.”

“Do you we have his whereabouts?” Asked Maxie.

“Well I contacted all the gyms here in Hoenn, I got word from the Fortree leader, he recently left Fortree City and is probably headed toward LilyCove City.” Harlan replied.

“Head back, downstairs and inform the other Magma members, tell them to prepare the Skymagma for take off.” Maxie commanded.

“Yes sir!” Harlan replied as he left Maxie’s office.

Back in the forest, Ash and May are picking up loads of wood everywhere they step. As Ash and May were grabbing wood none spoke a word, until May broke the silence.

“So…Ash, you excited that you only need two more badges to compete in the Hoenn league?” She asked feeling kind of nervous.

“You bet, I can’t wait till I go up against the best trainers in Hoenn.” He answered, in a confident tone of voice.

She then started another conversation “Today is such a lovely day, it would be perfect for hiking and swimming.” She said still a little tingly.
I want to tell him I love him but, I don’t know how to tell him. She thought to herself. What if he doesn’t feel the same about me? A little tear rolled down her face.

Ash noticed May just standing there “May is something wrong?” Ash asked her. “You look sad May, what is the matter?”

May looked at his glowing, brown eyes and answered “Ash t-there is something I-I need to tell y-you.” She said, while tripping on her words.

“What is it May?” asked Ash as if he knew what she was gonna say. “I am listening.” He said as he moved closer to her. Is she finally gonna say it? He thought.

“Well its that, well I-I…” she was cut off by the sound of footsteps behind them. She quickly clingged to Ash. “What is that sound?” she said in a fearful voice.

Ash looked and saw a girl about five feet, 4 inches tall. “Who are you said?” He asked.

The girl spoke and said “I’m Cathy and who might you two be?” she asked them.

“I’m Ash Ketchum from Pallet town and this is my girlfrie…uh my friend May.” Ash answered, as his face turned scarlet red.

“Well its very nice to mee…” Cathy was cut off by Brock.

“Yes, it’s very nice to meet such a beautiful young girl as yourself.” Brock said as he came out of the bushes with hearts in his eyes. “I would be hornered to be your boyfrie…oww! He yelled as he saw Max pulling his ears.

“No time for girls today!” Max said to Brock. “You have to make dinner remember?”

May looked at Max with a ****** off look. “Max how long were you two hiding there?” she asked angrily.

“Well long enough to just about hear you tell Ash that you…” his lips were covered by Brock.

“Uh…he said long enough to hear you introduce yourselves to Cathy, who by the way is very pretty.” Brock said hoping to not let Max embarrass Ash and May.

“Anyway I was gonna ask Ash this before we were interupted.” Cathy said. “How would you like to have a pokemon battle?” she asked feeling like winning.

“One thing about Ash, when he is challenged to a battle, he cant refuse.” Max told her.

“I would love to battle you, Cathy.” Ash announced, feeling very confident. “How about we use two pokemon total?”

“Sounds fair to me, okay then now lets find a proper battlefield.” Cathy said.

Ash looked over at the lake. “How about we battle in front of the lake?” Ash asked.

“Perfect!” agreed Cathy as she started walking with Ash toward the lake.

“There goes my chance.” May silently said to herself. “Hey wait Ash, I want to watch the battle!” she yelled as she stated running after him.

They all finally arived at the battlefield as May, Max and Brock sat down on some rocks nearby.

“Okay Cathy I am ready when you are.” anounced, Ash.

“Wait!” May called out. She ran up to Ash then asked him “Ash would you mind doing a double battle?” she asked.

Ash looked at her confused. “I could but, why do you want me to?” he asked her.

May then took a deep breath “Because I want to battle with you she said, as a little blush appeared on her face.

“Uh…well…okay.” He answered her.

May stated to smile “Oh thank you Ash!” she yelled happily as she gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Ash just blushed and stood there while feeling dizzy.

“May your supposed to give him a kiss on his li…” Max said as his lips were covered by Brocks hand.

“Ash, Ash, hey Ash.” May called as Ash just stood there in a daydream.

“Oh…what sorry, okay lets begin he said as he turned to look at May’s shiny sapphire eyes.”

“ Okay then it’s a four vs four battle.” “I’ll start things off.” Said Cathy. “Vileplume, Ninetails I choose you two!” she yelled as she released her pokemon.

“Whoa, a Vileplume and a Ninetails.” Max exclaimed.

“Okay then, Swellow I choose you!” Ash screamed, releasing his black, white and red bird pokemon.

“Beautifly come on out!” May yelled, as her beautiful butterfly pokemon flew onto the battlefield.

“Ninetails, flamethrower on beautifly!” “Vileplume solar beam on Swellow!” commanded Cathy.

Oh no, if flamethrower hits Beautifly it could be over in minutes.” Brock anounced.

Vileplume began to take in sunlight, while May became very hesitant as flamethrower was headed toward Beautifly.

“Swellow get infront of Beautifly and use endure!” Ash yelled.

The flamethrower hit Swellow and nearly fainted him.

“I’ve got your back, May.” Ash exclaimed. “Swellow endeavor on Ninetails now!” he commanded.

As Swellow flew fast toward Ninetails, May thought to herself. If Ash’s guarding my back then I’ll guard his.

Swellow was still going toward Ninetails as Cathy’s Vileplume was done taking in power. “Vileplume solar beam on Swellow!” Cathy screamed.

Oh no! May thought, one more attack and Swellow is done for. I have got to help. “Beautifly stringshot on Swellow, pull him down toward the ground.

Beautifly fired her stringshot and it hit Swellow, pulling him down just as a bright, powerful solar beam passed over them. Beautifly let the stringshot off of Swellow as he hit Ninetails with endeavor, knocking it to the ground.

“Ninetails!” Cathy said saddened. “You fought well, return” she said as Ninetails was absorbed back into the ball.

Ash and May looked at eachother at the same time, both smiling at one another. “Good thinking, May, that last attack was very creative.” Ash exclaimed. May then blushed a brighter red than usual. “Oh it was nothing.” She replied.

“Okay, now things are gonna get interesting.” anounced Cathy. “Go Graveler!” she yelled as she released a rock-skinned like pokemon. “I hope you two are ready for this.” “Graveler, explosion!”

“EXPLOSION!” Max and Brock both said in fear and in unison.

Ash’s eyes widened as he heard her call out that attack.

Graveler exploded, fainting himself as a huge explosion was headed toward Swellow, Beautifly and Vileplume.

May was just standing there in horror as the explosion hit her and Ash’s pokemon. Both of the pokemon were fainted and unable to battle including Vileplume.

“Takes care of them,” said Cathy while laughing slightly. “Return Vileplume and Graveler.” Said exclaimed as she sent the two back into their balls.

“Return!” Ash and May both said in unison, as their pokemon were sent into their balls to rest.

“This looks good Brock, Ash and May have two pokemon and Cathy only has one left.” Max said

“Yeah but, we don’t know what kind of pokemon Cathy has left, it could be anything.” Brock replied.

“I only have one pokemon left as you two each have one left, so lets make this one count.” “GO…Swampert!” she yelled. As she released an enormous big blue pokemon.

“Swampert!” Max shouted, isn’t that the evolve form of Mudkip?”

“Yeah and it’s a Water and Ground type so this may not be so easy.” Brock said in a worried tone.

“Ash that Swampert looks very powerful, are you sure we can win?” May asked, looking at Ash.

“Of corse we can May.” He replied as he reached to hold her hand. “You and me are unbeatable”

May blushed a bit but, then nodded her head.

“Go Combusken!” shouted May.

“Go Grovyle!” Ash shouted as well.

As they let out a orange and red fowl pokemon and a green gecko pokemon.

Cathy had an evil grin on her face “Swampert Earthquake attack!” she commanded.

Swampert then stomped the ground and a powerful quake was launched toward Grovyle and Combusken. It hit them both almost fainting them on the spot.

“Ash, May you guys cant let your pokemon take another earthquake, it will fainth them for sure next time!” Brock shouted.

“May I have got an idea but, we only have one chance to use it,” anounced Ash. “When it uses earthquake, order Combusken to kick Grovyle into the sky, right above Swampert, okay?”

“Got it, Ash.” She replied.

“Time to wrap this up, Swampert Earthquake!” Cathy ordered.

Swampert unleased another quake and made it head straight for Grovyle and Combusken.

“Combusken double kick on Grovyle, send him in the air bove Swampert!” commanded May.

Combusken kicked Grovyl into the sky high above Swamert.

“Oh, I see what they are doing, Combusken is sending Grovyle in the air so he can increase the power of his pound attack.” Max exclaimed.


“Now Grovyle finish it with a spinning pound attack!” Ash yelled.

Grovyle started spinning in the air as he was falling towards Swampert, when he was in face range he used a powerful pound attack.

Swampert stood there for a minute, as Ash and May stared at him. Finally Swampert collapsed to the ground.

“Swampert, return.” Cathy said as she kind of flet bad that she lost.

“We did it!” May yelled, she hugged Ash.

“May, thank you so much for helping me in the battle, if it weren’t for you I would have probably lost.” Ash said as he looked deeply into her eyes.

May’s face became red again as she said “Oh, yes you could have.” She then looked into Ash’s eyes.

“Uh…Ash…May, you two all right?” Brock asked them. Realizing that Max, Cathy and Brock were all looking at them Ash and May imediately hid their faces as they both blushed.

Meanwhile on an uncharted little island we find a submarine rising to the suface by the island. The sub’s hatch opened and out of the sub came Team Aqua admin Isabel. She walked about two yards onto the island then an elevator came up from under the sand on the beach. She got on the elevator and pressed the ground floor level button. As the elevator headed down she looked out the side window to view a huge underground, water complex. This was none other than Team Aqua’s base. The elevator came to a stop as two Aqua grunts saluted her. “Is Archie in his office?” she asked them.

“Yes, he just returned from the rec room.” Replied both grunts in unison.

“Thank you.” she said as she kept walking. Finally she was at the door of Archie’s office. She opened the door and walked in.

“My members from downstairs told me you arrived and said you wanted to see me. Archie anounced, while sitting in his chair, behind a blue desk.

“Yes, I did.” I wanted to inform you that we found Her.” She said with an evil grin.

Way better than your first the length is better and the description is excellent on this chap. Did see a few spelling errors but meh. I like the Advanced shipping in this chapter very good how you described their feelings toward eachother. Overall another good chapter can't wait for Chap three keep up the good work!

DL the reason there are spelling erors is cause spell check isn't working.

Well it will take a while to make chap 3 as I am struggling with Ideas, plus my dad will be back from his truck driving trip to pay a visit and he likes to hog the comp all day.
