The Pride of Old
Rated: F-... no wait pg13-R

“Oh dear oh dear…” a small cat like voice mumbled as a deep blue colored mew creature turned her head left and right. She had no idea where she was. All she could see was trees and then even more trees. She shouldn’t have gone wandering when her father went hunting. She knew how her mother hated to be alone.

Her tail hit a rock and sounded of with a loud DING! This had startled her so much she let out a loud mew and turned in a full circle, yes to much like her mother, Sky had to agree. The dragon mew whimpered a little, knowing full well she could have alerted every carnivore creature within several miles. She didn’t want to be lunch.

She would flee back to her mother if she knew where her mother was.

That’s when Sky heard it. The snap, she heard the snap. Oh the terrible snap that all prey heard before the attack! She turned her gaze and she saw the eyes as the large reptilian like creature watched her, it had brown feathers and stood nearly seven feet high, two deformed heads and deadly beaks.

Meet the ancestor of the doduo.

Sky didn’t take very much time to react; she was off, zipping away as fast as she could. Oh how she wished she could break tree cover! But who knew what was up there? Aredactyel had been spotted in the area. That’s just what she needed, to fly away from one monster bird and into another. So she fled, close to the ground, zipping around trees and bushes alike. Her dark nearly black eyes scanned for anyplace she could take cover.

She thought about hiding in the trees, but then again what if a carnivore was up there as well? There was only so many places one could go. And when one was to much like her mother when it came to thinking about the worse things to happen, everywhere was a bad place to go.

“DADDY!” She cried in fear calling for her father, but she didn’t know if he would answer her in time.

Slash, dig, tear, rip, destroy, main… DEVOUR!

“Stupid freakin goldeen.” Grumbled the old male as he wiped his mouth free of blood, it had taken some time to subdue, do to the fact it kept dragging him underwater. When one tackled food twice its side, there was always the risk it would decide to eat you back.

Chronos wasn’t far from his family, a good three minutes at the most. Though it was dangerous for him to drag a bloody meal all the way back. He was not about to bring his mate and cub here, he had made to much noise.

No he would move it.

The dragon like mew grabbed the fish pokemon’s tail and flouted into the air, grunting as he lifted the fat fish higher. This was going to be a long fly.

The old mew began to make his trip back to his waiting small pride.

“Where is she… where is she…” the female continued to ask herself, the violet female passing back and forth as she continued to worry about where her only cub had ran off too. Oh how she use to worry when Sky was younger, such an adventurous cub. River remembered when Sky went off to stalk a poor caterpie, the caterpie though outsmarted her and got the poor cub stuck in a string attack.

Chronos found it a bit amusing.

River found it frightening.

“Oh my little Sky… come back to me…”

Ears twitched and a yellow form looked up from eating an apple in a tree. The black striped ears twitched again and a golden yellow head adorned with a red gem looked in the direction the cry had come from. It's head tilted as large blue black eyes blinked again, and the golden yellow, cream bellied and black striped tail and neck mew took off from the tree she had been in and towards the distressed cry.

-

Moments later found Kari closer to the evidently distressed mew. But she knew it could be a trap. It was quiet possibly a trap, so cautiously she approached and pushed her head through a bush, ears perked up and forwad. It appeared to be a child, or atleast the way it was acting. "Young one?" Kari said cautiously, coming out from the brush. Tense and alert, just incase it really was a trap.

Sol, was bored. So very bored. His brother Ruth was chasing down a young Doduo, but Sol wasn't hungry. Sol just wanted something to do since their Father was keeping them away from their mother while she neared the day the cubs would come into this world. Yawning as he stretched, he lazily watched as Ruth tackled, and visciously tore into the squawking bird before silencing it as in turn, each head was crushed between Ruth's jaws.

He was ready to sit down and bide the time the boredom would be afflecting him when his ears twitched, and he heard something ... other than the death cries of the bird.

Slowly pushing himself up, he allowed his ears to flick about, catching the sound again, and headed off, telling Ruth he could eat all of the kill if he wanted to. Which made his brother growl happily while tearing into the bird.

[omg fear the short post]

Sky barely heard it, but realized someone spoke to her at the last second and took a sharp turn going straight for the source.

"HIDE ME HIDE ME!" she screamed in fear as the doduo ancestor came barging soon after the small blue mew. Sky screamed as one of it's two heads snapped at her and nearly got her, she spun out of the way as the other head came now and nearly got a hold of her tail.

"MOTHER! FATHER! HELP ME!" Sky cried before really seeing the newcommoner even though her eyes were blurred with tears. "Help!" she screamed as she dived under the preastoric bird pokemon's legs and tried to zip away once more.

The dragony alpha mew apeared with his prey. Looking at his mate who had such a worried look, Chronos knew exactly what was up.

"Where is she?" he asked placing the food near his frightened mate.

"I-I don't know." River responded whimpering in fear. Though Chronos wasn't worried... yet.

"I am sure she is fine, River love. Just give her some time, she'll come back. Probably found a little adventure." The male mew responded as he placed a paw on River's side.

"I just... she's our only cub." River responded with a sigh as she leaned her head against her sandy furred mate.

"We will wait a few more moments, then I will go search for her. Now eat something, I am sure she will sense food and come running back. She lets her belly think for her sometimes." He chuckled and patted his mate again.

But River didn't feel like eating. She wanted her baby back.

Kari's eyes grew wide before her maternal instincts kicked into overdrive, and she powered out of the bush as fast as she could manage as the blue mew child screamed for her parents. It was still to young to be wandering on its own! And that thought alone summoned all of Kari's mothering instincts to the surface.

The two headed monstrosity of a bird was too focused on the crying Mew that wove about, trying to keep away and not get ate; leaving Kari able to sneak up onto it and whirl around, brining her tail to bear. The bird saw this though, well one head did and it squawked, trying to attack Kari before she struck it, and thus the electric mew faltered for a moment, before ducking under the head, and striking it with a headbutt, sending jolts of energy through the blow. The bird screamed in pain as its body gave a spasm before siezing up and the bird fell motionless to the ground.

Panting harshly as she eyed the breathing lump of feathers, as it was still alive, just would take awhile to move again, Kari turned her attention to the child. "Are you alright young one?"

Sky sniffled as she hovered a bit away from the fallen bird. The dark blue mew's almost black eyes looked up from the fallen creature and towards her rescuer. Another sniffle.

"I-I" she mumbled and shook her head in a no, she wasn't alright. She was scared and lost and she knew her father would be very upset. She rushed forward and clung to the stranger who had saved her. Crying out of shock and the fact that she nearly died...

"I want my mommy..." Sky cried as she hid her face in the other female's fur and cried like the scared little cub she was inside.

Kari was shocked for a moment before wrapping her arms around the evidently lost child. "There there little one... we'll find your mother, don't worry." Kari murmured, and was about to say more when a twig snapped loudly. The electric mew started, tensed and almost bolted, ready to drag the younger blue mew with her when a bright yellow and white colored mew tumbled out from the underbrush, long spiked ears sweeping back over his head as a near frill of white spines ran around his neck as bristled fur stood on end all the way down his back to the stubby bunched up bristle like tail of his, "Kari! Thank the stars," he exclaimed, clearly upset as he came over, and Kari held the younger mew incase she tried to bolt, and murmured he was a friend of hers to the still to be named youngster.

He was about to go on before pausing, and pointing at the stranger Kari held. "Hey, who's that? She doesn't look like one of us." He said bluntly. Kari rolled her eyes, "She's lost or something Taron and you're not helping." Kari told him, clearly not worried about whatever it was that had upset Taron into looking for her. He'd exagerate any problem into a disaster with his worrying at times.

Kari looked down at the blue one. "I am Kari, and this is my friend Taron, now little one what is your name? For I doubt you want to be called little one untill returned to your parents,"

Sky sniffled, not moving from the older female as she eyed the new male a little. She was calming down but still felt safe with this mew and didn't want to leaver her side. Well until her parents were found.

The dark blue mew looked back at her rescuer before mumbling out a small weepy "Sky."

~*~

It had been to long. Far to long. And Sky wasn't back. The worried parents were now flouting about near the way River remembered their daughter going.

"Sky? Sky?" cried the dragony mew mother. Chronos wasn't shouting like her, he was sensing for signals like Sky's. Seeing if he could sense her first before she was in earshot. The two flouted into the wooded area, remaining togather as two mews were butter then one.

ooc: @.@ so short, need to come up with some more characters yes.
