Yay anthro art!

Ok, I decided to give Rey a more anime like look to her and a strange pyromaniac look in her eyes, all for fun though. My first piece where I fully take advantage of layering and thank God it shows.

Co-Star of my comic "Of Love and Hax".

Edit: Why do I always forget the tail?

Urk I had forgotten some things, but now they are fixed. Hehe I had a lot of fun drawing this. She's not evil, she just has Hidden Power Fire and uses it possibly too much. Overall though she's a bit goofy and eccentric, but very intelligent and likes to read minds.

Edit: And for a random bonus here's a revamped drawing of James McCloud

You mind elaborating on that a little?

 Simply saying something is "disturbing" or "sloppy" is SPAM. What kind of criticism is that? You're not here to just rate pictures; you're supposed to help the artist improve.

I think the anthro is very cute and it looks like you spent a lot of time on it. I really like how the eyes look. One suggestion I'd like to make: when drawing, keep in mind that nothing in the human body is ever straight. The way you drew her arms is unrealistic because it's shaped like a tube. Try looking at how arms really look and copy them. You'll soon get a feel for how they work and be able to draw them without a reference.

And McCloud's ears are different sizes and his face is uneven. Other than that, it looks very good.

Thank you for the crit Meowth.

I'm not that good with body structure yet I've only been doing art for about 2 1/2 months. I'm trying to self teach myself this, but it is a challenge. I like how the eyes came out as well. You're not going to find too many anthro/furry/morph works on here, but it is by far my favorite style of art.

The ears and face for James McCloud are supposed to be like that because he's looking out; last version I had him looking straight and in that pose he looked like a duck... So I decided I'd have him gaze out a little instead.

I need to just improve my style a little further and I'll be ready for N-Parody... I need to do some concept drawings once exams are over.

Pyro Espeon:

From what I see, it looks as if you have some proportion issues to sort out...everyone has these sorts of problems when starting out, and it takes A LOT of practice to even come close to nail them--I suggest that you take a look at this website:

http://polykarbon.com/tutorials/index.htm

Polykarbon has some fantastic tutorials in terms of getting your proportions right (for males and females) using graphics programs, and all of that good stuff...

James McCloud:

I think that the prime reason for the face looking stretched as it does would be due to the placement of the facial features. When doing a 3/4th view (which it looks like you're doing) placement and size are key...The eyes, for one, should be of different sizes...his left eye(our right) should be smaller than the other and a bit farther apart as it disappears into the other side...The nose and the mouth should also be placed more toward (our) right side....

These are examples, but just keep them in mind when drawing views in perspective--again, that takes practice...not too bad overall though...keep practising!

Anyway, Polycarbon isn't good to start off with. I mean, it has the basics, but it's looks like they skipped some steps inbetween."Okey so liek you draw a circle, maybe a line or 5, and then wallah! A full figure of a woman!".
I would recommend actual books, like the "How to Draw Manga" series. Those touch various subjects in drawing: Female figures, perspective, horror and occult, fantasy...just to name a few.

Edit: Another bonus?

Well since I didn't get any crit from this yet might was well put it here.

Well guess what I'm asking for Christmas, heh. This was basically a test of my new style, I'll be trying to refine it over time. Why do you make animations of my stuff? Hopefully the next thing I will have will be of a higher quality. Proportions is my biggest obstacle.

hehehe. Miror. B

That made me chuckle. Nice picture. Ever since Pokemon XD, I havn't been able to get enough of that fellow.

As for your Pyro Espeon Lady, it's interesting, but kind of frightening. I like the fire in the background.

I borrowed Cousin Woofer's style a bit on Miror B. and it's for the Christmas Card contest.

Rey is a character filled with a firey passion (and Hidden Power Fire), although quirky and optimistic, she's a bit on the timid side (yay +Spd -Atk). Ah heck I'll just throw my Of Love and Hax related art in this thread. Expect Cory, the anthro Umbreon sometime soon. Maybe I'll throw in Pyro and Nyala in here when I get those two anthro fire types down.

Keep your eyes peeled out for N-Parody!
