What hppened to it. When D/P was released i heard sumthing on hear about a red gyrados in one of the lakes. I havent heard anything since. Is there or is there not a red gyrados in D/P

There is no actual Red Gyarados for you to catch in the game, but there is a reference to it at the beginning of the game.

Your rival sees a show on the TV that talks about a Red Gyarados in a far off lake (the Lake of Rage in Johto) and he thinks that there might be one in the lake near your town. The both of you go out to find one, but you get attacked by Mukkuru and thus, get your starter.

i think the translation of the tv report is right:

"In the end, the expedition team’s efforts were not wasted for they found a rare looking Pokemon. It was in the form of a red Gyarados, a Pokemon that was never seen before…And so, that was our special programme, “After the Red Gyrados!"
