True but I suspect at E3 its true name will be revealled. Its been iterated and hinted so many times it would change and this latest ign interview at GDC confirms it.Revolution is a code name, but I don't see them changing any time soon since the GameCube was called GameCube for the longest time instead of Dolphin.

Beth: No, it's not.
IGN: So it's definitely a codename?
Beth: It's a codename.
IGN: And it's going to change?
Beth: It is going to change.
IGN: Great. When are you going to reveal the final name?
Beth: Well, you're going to have to wait and see.
IGN: E3?
Beth: Not quite sure yet.
IGN: Somehow we think that's a lie.

Its name was the nintendo 64. It was just more popular to say N64 instead. Same for PS, PS2, PSP, PS3. All stand for playstation *insert ending*I hope they give it a real name, and not use numbers or initials, like N64!
By that logic, they could only use numbers, or just call it Nintendo, because anything can be turned into initials. X360, PC, SNES, NES, VB, GBC, GB, GBA, NDS, PSP, PS2, PSX, PS3, SGG, SMS, N64, GCN, and SCD from the top of my head.Hero of legend said:I hope they give it a real name, and not use numbers or initials, like N64!![]()
so maybe "GameCube 2"
Silverwing said:No, GameCube didn't sell very well compared to other systems, and having the name connect to the GameCube will be a bad marketing strategy.
I've heard that Nintendo GO was a probable possibility.
And to market the fact it had 64-bit tech. Most PCs only had 32 at the time. They could name it the Penguin, and it should come with a black skin that doesn't cover the whole thing...But then there's the multi-color system problem. They could name it the HaInYourFaceSony/MicrosoftWeMadeABetterConsole! Or they call it the Multi-ColoredRectangleOfAwesomeness. Ya know, either or.Latios said:Nintendo 64 was called such because it as 64-bit.
