::Sign-ups Open::

I've been asked by a number of people to bring this RP back so I am doing so. Hopefully this time I'll recieve the needed amount of quality sign-ups to start this. I will not be posting the opposite half of the quest just yet, I'll save that for if this gets off the ground first. It should also be noted that if it does not succeed this time, I have no intention of posting it again. I'll also take this area to adress a few issues from last time; no one starts with the sword they choose, nor do they start on the hidden island nation. This is taking place in modern pokemon times, so while you can have training, make sure it fits in with the poke'verse. No fuedal styled towns (unless you have a good reason), strict/traditional households and such would be just as effective. I would also prefer to not have any blatant rip-offs of Wild Arms 2, or any other game for that matter, when it comes to character creation. I am looking for characters you have all personally toiled over. If you have ideas that contradict with any of these rules, please PM me so we may discuss them. I am not unreasonable and would welcome anything that anyone feels may enhance the quality of this RP.

This RPG is rated R for violence, language, and other mature themes

-History-

Within this world of pokemon exists a large island continent long forgotten by the rest of civilization. On this island exists the eight tribes of nature (Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Ice, Lightning, War, and Peace), governed by the three Dragon Gods (Tiamat, Leviathan, and Bahamut) and the five High Legendaries and their generals (Lugia, Latias, Latios, Ho-oh, and Rayquaza), and protected through the trinities of heaven (Mew, Celebi, Jirachi) and earth (Regice, Regirock, Registeel).

Through this setup life on the island prospered, but the dragons and legendaries became restless of staying in one place and gave the humans living on the island a task. They were to forge eight swords to maintain the harmony of the island and each tribe was to decide on a successor to each sword. Many swords were forged during this time but all were rejected. From this, blame started to be passed around the tribes, and skirmishes broke out. Most of them ended peacefully enough until one smith from the tribe of war murdered a woman from the tribe of peace in a heated argument. The blood stained sword interested the smith as did his feelings of malice and he began to forge all of that into a new sword. Consequently, the woman he killed was the cherished younger sister of a metal worker in the village of peace. Filled with despair for being unable to protect her, he began to work on a tribute to her, and before he realized what he had created, a sword lay before him. The two swords became the Masamune and the Murasame. The other tribes soon followed with their swords, and though none of them were quite as powerful as the Masamune and Murasame, they served their purpose. With the eight swords of Masa in place, the legendaries and dragons spoke to the people once more to tell them the true purpose of their presence at the island and the two trinities of heaven and earth along with the history of the planet.

Before the time of legendaries, there was another age, the age of gods (the three Dragon Gods were a remnant of that age). During this time humanity was even more prosperous than now. However one great nation within the world decided it wanted more. It developed devices capable of calling down heavenly objects such as meteors. One day a meteor was brought to earth that contained the dormant genetic information for the pokemon species. Through the technology developed in that nation, they sped up the evolution process on these organisms and soon had two sentient begins they could control. One was the pokemon known as Clefairy, and the other was Ditto. These two new beings seemed to quell the nation as they did further experiments. Things went back to being peaceful for centuries after that and it seemed that this quest for more had come to a stop much to the gods relief, however this was not so. Soon things got out of hand and experiments and special breeding was being done with the pokemon. Experiments also went underway to make the nation a self-aware being. This was accomplished with relative ease through the bounds their already dangerous technology had taken and soon an artificial being that was the nation itself came into existence. Through its span of knowledge the nation informed its creators that the next step for more, lie in overthrowing and destroying the gods and the war of men and gods began.

The war raged for decades and everything seemed at a stalemate but the gods were weakening. At this point many of the surviving gods used their power to ignite the sparks of life and resilience in a number of unique genetic structures of the many pokemon of the world and with the last of their beings called forth the first apocalypse; leveling the world and all species, but without destroying it. The nation appeared to be defeated as well and soon a new age began and life started anew. The three gods that were left went into solitude and were content on observing life. However the nation was not destroyed, only weakened, and through the ages it began to rebuild itself, still intent on destroying the gods, and now the legendaries that were coming into being. Bahamut sensed this and paid visit to his fellow dragon gods, who then split up to find the highest-ranking legendaries and ignite the spark of cosmic memory within them.

Once this was done, it was agreed the living nation had to be dealt with, however they were unable to destroy it. With that in mind, the gods and legendaries combined their powers to seal the nation beneath the ocean where its influence could not reach man and confine its power through the ancient rites of the gates of heaven and earth and the rites of the Natural Crown. For the Natural Crown to work, it was necessary to bring humans to the large island that was left from the submergence of the nation, and from those humans the eight tribes were established and the sealing complete.

With the history related the gods and legendaries said one more thing. “With the swords created and the seal strengthened, our constant presence is no longer necessary. Keep the balance and Atlantis will never again awaken.”
With those parting words of warning, the dragons and the legendaries dispersed and life continued from there… However, there is no greater enemy to memory than the passages of time. Two of the Masa swords are gone from the island; the tribe of Peace has been subjugated by War, and is trying to gain control of the other tribes; and with the scales of balance askew, one very power-hungry man has found information in ancient texts that speak of a weapon of unlimited power buried under the deepest ocean.

-Prologue-

Masa stood over the grave marked by a dull sword planted in the ground. A pained and angry stare was plastered on his face, the closest he got to being sad. It had been ten years, but he still paid tribute everyday to the one man he considered a friend, the one man he considered a rival.

Suddenly Masa’s train of thought was broken by a slowking that had appeared at his side. “I understand your feelings Masa, but don’t you think it’s a tad hypocritical for a man to grieve over life when he kills for a living with no remorse… much less ten years over one person.”

The normal look of anger washed over the mercenary’s face as he turned to face the slowking with a look that said ‘I’ll kill you if you say that again.’ “Tell me Neptune, do you know the feeling of having to kill your best friend? Just because he was the successor to the Murasame should not have been sufficient enough reason.”

Neptune just shook his head in pity. “If you wish to live in the past that badly I cannot stop you from doing so. However, you killed Mega while possessed by the enmity of the Masamune… in fact, it could be said that if not for his death, you would still be possessed today.”

“That may very well be so, but it’s of no comfort so long as I have this eye… What am I saying… this can’t be the reason you came here. What happened, you know I like to be left alone when I’m here.”

The slowking looked up to Masa. “Something strange is happening. Juggernaut collapsed earlier in pain. He said he kept hearing a voice saying for the ‘Children of Atlantis to return’ and, ‘the awakening is at hand”

Masa looked puzzled, “That reminds me of this old tale that used to be told to children of my town. Parents used to say that if children didn’t go to sleep then the monster Atlantis would pop up and eat them.”

Suddenly a voice echoed through the air but from seemingly nowhere. “It is no mere children’s story I’m afraid.” Masa immediately recognized the voice and dropped to one knee and bowed his head. “Bahamut my lord, it has been many years since your presence has touched this compound.” The voice rang out again, “Rise Masa, we must speak for you have much to learn…”

Okay, sign up information, usual stuff of course (name, age, etc.). Your character creation is pretty free, you only have one big guideline to uphold, there has to be reason to your character… well, you know what, it will just be easier if I give an example with my own sign up

Name: Masa (real name unknown)
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Sword: Masamune
Description: 6’2” with a small but muscular build (like Chrono if I had to give an example). Black unkempt hair and a jade green and crimson red eye (the crimson eye is a “scar” left over from a possession attempt by the Masamune.) He wears black, ninja stylized, armor and guards made with Metagross shavings and wears four swords at his side (the three dragon god swords and the Masamune).
Personality: Masa is cold to everyone… well almost everyone. He hates people, especially trainers, as he sees average pokemon trainers as slave drivers. Despite this, he is rather hospitable (beyond his words anyway) and will offer anyone who makes it through his death-trap forest a place to stay.
History: Masa is an outcast, banished from his home, the tribe of war, after being framed for the dishonorable murder of the original successor to the Masamune (the town elders did not want to believe he was so much better at such a young age). Trained for combat from the day he could hold a sword, Masa is a killing prodigy and has mastered multiple fighting, stealth, and assassin arts. He soon made quite the name for himself in the underworld. He did almost any job for the right price and soon it became where everybody wanted to hire him but nobody did out of fear. When that happened he went into seclusion and used his amassed wealth to buy a forest where he built his training compound. Every once in a while he still gets called for a big job, but now he spends most of his time training pokemon that come to him looking for power.
Other: Masa has made his own set of pokeballs as his life forced him to become a reluctant trainer of sorts. The pokeballs he made after diligent study emit a field around the captured pokemon that prevents them from being stolen or captured ever again. This allows any pokemon to always remain free. He will also kill without hesitation, any person trying to force servitude upon a pokemon.
Other 2: Masa was at one point possessed by the living soul of the Masamune. While the Masamune normally corrupts those who wield it, in Masa’s case, he was already a fairly corrupt and bloodstained individual. That mixed with his strength, and the Masamune wanted Masa’s body so it could be a flesh entity. During the possession, Masa killed the only person he considered a friend. It was his friend’s death that helped him fight back though, and now Masa has taken over the Masamunes’ powers, giving him some strange abilities.
Other 3: Masa discarded his true name 23 years ago when he was banished and started taking the names of his swords. As the Masamune recognized him as the next sword bearer, the village had to bequeath it upon him despite the banishment.
Other 4: Despite being a trainer, Masa never received an official starter, nor is he registered. Because of this he can have as many pokemon as he wants with him at any given moment, but in order to pull off most jobs and strategies, he keeps numbers fairly low.
Other 5: Because Masa lived the first part of his life in a culture that stayed very close to nature and pokemon, he is capable of understanding pokemon speech to some degree (almost perfectly with those he has close bonds to like Juggernaut).

Oh, one other thing as was pointed out in Other 4, It is possible for you to have more than six pokemon with you, but you have to have a reason for it, and be original, no copying someone else. Finally, for your character, make sure to include what sword you wish to take though you won’t get them in the beginning (and it is first come first served unless stated otherwise). Make sure that for the sword you choose the character is suitable, or at least makes it an interesting match up. You can also have other types of equipment, but if it’s anything special, again, there must be a reason for it. If you have an ability to speak to pokemon include that before the start of this as well and all pokemon speech should be put in <> before hand <like so>. Also put down bios for the pokemon you will have with you, and don’t bring in more than you can manage. I’ll give an example by listing one of Masa’s pokemon.

Name: Juggernaut
Species: Scyther/Scizor
Gender: Male
History: Juggernaut was Masa’s first partner in crime, before Masa could inherit the Tiamat Blade he had to defeat a pokemon in combat, and that pokemon was Juggernaut, an outcast from his own clan as well. They fought all day and Masa was finally victorious. Both wounded fairly well, Masa treated to both their wounds with the medicine he brought with him. Juggernaut, curious at the fact that he wasn’t caught, began to follow Masa around much to his dismay. One day they happened upon a trainer looking for a pokemon battle, when it was made evident the scyther was not his pokemon, he went about trying to catch it… that trainer was never heard from again. From that point on Masa swore he wouldn’t allow Juggernaut to be enslaved to a master, and they became partners.
Special Ability: Juggernaut has learned to evolve/devolve at will thanks to Bruiser and Natraj, Machoke and Machamp twins sharing the same body from birth.
Special History: Juggernaut is from a family line descended from an altered pokemon from Atlantis that’s genetic information survived through the apocalypse. Because of this he can alter his skin as a Scizor to Mythril and even Orihalcon.

Now, as you may have guessed from this pokemon don’t need to be normal run of the mill pokemon. In fact, it would be better if you know what fuse attacks are before you join this as normal attacks just won’t cut it after a while. Fuse attacks are the combination of one or more attacks to create something new. For instance, one of Juggernauts’ signatures as a Scyther is something called the Golden Sword series which basically manipulates a Hyper Beam, fusing the energy into his scythes. The most powerful attack in this series is Golden Hades, which involves using Hyper Beam, Toxic, and a few other attacks.

Now, two final things; first I will be switching RP styles at certain points. It will progress a lot like a normal RP, but at certain points I will switch form to something more combat oriented. At this point everyone will be playing against me (including myself) to survive. If you RP poorly, expect your character and/or pokemon to die, not faint, die. Lastly, this is a two-sided RPG. What is done in this one will effect the second one that is going on at the same time and vice versa. You may also not sign up for both of them even as a different character, this makes it more interesting so no one has complete influence over the whole story. If this is successful, I have other installments.

You received some interesting mail today… Or rather, how you received it. As you stepped outside a bird dropped a piece of rolled parchment at your feet. Upon reading it, it said, “Attention trainers of the world. Put your skills to the ultimate test in a challenge that would make the Elite Four cringe. If you feel up to it, take the airship ticket and head to Artedes Forest and wait on the tree line to receive further instructions.” Upon finishing the letter you couldn’t help but think that this was very familiar to what that thing was saying in your dreams last night…

Sword: Muremura
Description: Aeron has extremely pale skin and piercing blue eyes. He wears light seviper-skin boots and a flowing sky-blue cloak that matches his eyes. He has straight snowy-white hair that reaches down to his shoulders and is slightly muscular around the arms and shoulders. Aeron is about seven feet two inches tall and has a metre-long black-leather swordcase strapped on his back, he is very thin.

History: He was a perfect citicen In the village that he was born in off the coast of New Brunswick, good natured and such. He was well-educated, and proffesionals taught him how to speak the pokemon language. That all changed one day. In fact, the day he was sceduled to get his starter. Aeron was heading home from the marketplace, carrying a watermelon, when he saw a horrible sight. His own father was stuffing a tiny young poochyena in to a bag, and the poor puppy was already injured and bleeding, and the netted sac didn't help."Err... Um.... Hi Aeron.. I have your pokemon!" He said and forced a smile. Aeron went up, took the poochyena, shot his father a disguisted look and ran, somehow carrying both the watermelon and the confused puppy at the same time. He kept running until he couldn't run any more, and then some. He finally collapsed from exhaustion, and the tiny poochyena slept cuddled up by by his side, the first of many long and lonely nights with only his pokemon. That night, he dremt of a large rainbow bird appearing before him, he saw flashes of a huge island and a sword. He has been wandering ever since.

Dream Breaker

The Accursed
Yay for four pages on MSWord.

-Character-

Name: Terra Hartfeld (Testing out my RPing skills [or lack there of] with female characters =P)

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Sword: Masamure – Sword of love.

Description: Standing around 5’6”, Terra certainly turns heads with her dazzling beauty. She’s got a slim body build, long chestnut colored hair and light brown eyes. She doesn’t have any scars, or at least they are visible, but she does a dark birthmark on the back of her neck. Most people say it resembles that of a water droplet, but she denies it, for some reason getting highly offensive at that remark.
She normally wears a white T-shirt underneath a Miltank-leather jacket. She, however, often wears T-shirts much too small for her, allowing her to emphasize her “assets” and exposing her midriff. She likes the attention, after all. She wears clean, nice denim jeans with pink and white sneakers.

Personality: Terra is a, generally, friendly person. She loves everyone that is close to her and is fairly hostile to those that oppose her. Also, as a rule of thumb, as much as she likes the attention, don’t hit on her. You’ll receive one of the painful open-hand face slaps in your entire life.
One of the things she is most kind to is her Pokémon. She loves them more than she loves anything else, as her mother, her only parental figure, died when she was 16 by a horde of Sharpedo on an Orange Island cruise vacation with many other passengers. This didn’t injure her relationship with all Pokémon, just the water type, hence the reason why she hates her birthmark. She will protect her Pokémon at all costs, even her own life. She has trained them very well, so they’re a force to be reckoned with too.
While hard to sometimes get along with, once you break through her front, you’ve got a loyal and determined friend and your side, very much worth the work.
In battle, Terra fights aggressively and without hesitation, constantly formulating strategies in her head. She might, however, either overwork herself or her Pokémon, most times herself as she knows her Pokémon’s limits, not her selves. She is constantly testing herself, seeing how far she can go.

History: Terra was born in a fairly small seaside town on an island near Kanto with her mother. Her father had left them to go get married to another woman he’d been cheating with while her mom had been pregnant. Feeling like a piece of her was missing for most of her childhood, she grew out of it and now realizes that he’s missed out on her, and it’s his loss, not hers.
Her mother was very good water Pokémon breeder, and Terra enjoyed playing with them, learning a lot about their habits, abilities and the different species.
However, when Terra was about to leave to start her own life (living only fifty yards away from her mother), her mom left on a cruise to tour the Orange Islands. While on the trip back home, tragedy struck as an extremely ticked off gang of Sharpedos ambushed the ship, tearing through the iron with their teeth and sinking the ship. Help had arrived too late for most of the passengers, and all but six or seven people died. It was an ironic end to her mother’s life, and now Terra has a very warped view of water Pokémon, especially Sharpedo and their younger forms, Carvanhas.
Since then, Terra went through a very long withdrawal into her apartment, skipping her job as a PokéMart cashier and causing her to get fired. Sadly, she also sold her mother’s breeding center, not being able to look at the marine creatures any longer. She couldn’t bring herself to get rid of her original Pokémon, an Eevee now Vaporeon, but she’s been considerably curt with him. He tries to get her to see that not all water types are like this, but she cuts him off in the middle. She’s getting more tolerant, though it’ll take more time.
She’s recently acquired an odd letter from an anonymous sender, the message making her think of the odd dream she’d had the night before. In it, she was horrified to see the canine water beast of Johto, Suicune, talking to her in a very majestic yet powerful voice about an important quest, in which she would have to face her fears to set something right. Terrified, she couldn’t help herself and followed the letter’s instructions.

Legendary Blessing: Suicune

Other: Terra wears her mother’s only memento, a silver necklace of an angel (like Arwen’s from LoTR). She wears it underneath her shirt, not that she is ashamed of it, more like she doesn’t want to reveal her weakness. She’s almost got no experience with a blade, almost never touching one in her life. But what she doesn’t know is that her father was a blade wielder, so it may come naturally to her, who knows.
Also, Terra can communicate with her Pokémon very well, but not others, as she isn’t very familiar with them at all. When a new addition comes to the team, she tries as hard as she can to get to know it so she can communicate with it as well.

-Pokémon-

Name: Linus
Species: Vaporeon
Gender: Male
History: Terra acquired Linus from her mother when she was still alive. Because her mom had a breeding center, a couple brought their Flareon and Jolteon over to breed. Once done, the couple was so happy with the litter of Eevees that they left one for her mother to have. Her mother, however, didn’t want it, so she passed it on to Terra. Terra was very grateful and has raised him since.
After her mother died, Terra went through a phase where she wouldn’t talk to him or let him out of his ball for days on end until Linus was able to talk a little sense into her. Their relationship has been noticeably better, but still a little sketchy at times.
Other: Linus has a straightforward, right to the point and brutally honest type of personality. He likes to tell is as it is, speaking his mind when someone wants his honest answer, which is one of the reasons that a) he and Terra had their fight and b) Terra had broken out of anti-water phase for a bit. He carries the same mindset to the battlefield, taking no side steps to get to his goal of defeating the opponent.
Linus is, pretty much, a normal Vaporeon appearance. He wears a leather strap around his neck, upon which a small bottle of sacred Mystic Water is placed, enhancing some of his aquatic abilities.
Special Ability: Linus has the odd ability to manipulate water (Katara and waterbending), but it often comes with the large price of overexertion. With this control, he can control the density of water so it can be a light as a feather but also as heavy as an elephant. He can do many things with this ability, but he prefers to only use it in dangerous situations.
Special History: Linus, due to living with a bunch of water Pokémon, can communicate well with all the different types of species. In doing so, he can call on them if he is in need of help with a special type of energy laced screech that all water Pokémon are relative with.

Name: Tethys
Species: Bayleef
Gender: Female
History: Tethys is one of Terra’s newer additions to her team of Pokemon, whom she adopted at the Adoption Centre in her town. The poor Chikorita (at the time) was quivering up against the wall, scared to death of humans. Once adopted, she was told the poor creature had been abused by her former trainer, even forced to watch her mother die. Immediately connecting with the grass pokémon, they have a great relationship in which they both trust each other’s decisions.
Since then, Tethys has somewhat come over her fear of humans, but she only comes near females, becoming extremely nervous around men.
Other: Tethys has an optimistic personality, always thinking about the best things in life and the good things about every situation. However, she’s got her head in the clouds, sometimes, and when in battle, often makes glaringly obvious mistakes in her judgment, but then recovering for a few moments, then going back.
Appearance-wise, she has slightly darker leaves than a normal Bayleef, signifying that she is very healthy and in good physical condition. Otherwise, she’s normal for her species.
Special Ability: Tethys can actually shrink and grow at will by, in order to shrink, releasing energy into the atmosphere and, in order to grow, take in energy from the sun. Think of it as photosynthesis and its opposite.
Special History: As a result of being abused, Tethys has a much higher physical defense than most Pokémon, often taking a Hyper Beam without even flinching. However, this doesn’t go so well with fire, as, for some reason besides type affection, it causes much higher damage.

Name: Innes
Species: Ninetales
Gender: Male
History: Innes was caught by Terra after raiding her house as a young Vulpix, eating everything out of her fridge and cabinet when she got back home from work. He, however, is a complete coward, so he surrendered immediately and, thinking his life was in danger that day, wouldn’t leave her house as payment for her mercy. Ever since, their relationship has been, for the most part, good, except on the random occasion where she finds him eating out of the refrigerator. Terra always just laughs and lets him go to town, but she gets revenge when he gets very sick, puking all over the floor and Terra refuses to help him.
Other: Innes is a coward, pretty much, running away in the face of danger. So, his main purpose in battle is a status inducer, as those attacks seem to be much more effective than normal Ninetales she’s seen. He doesn’t mind a friendly battle, though he doesn’t do that much as his standards for those are pretty high, often thinking many battles are life threatening.
Special Ability: After training with Linus, Innes has also acquired the ability to manipulate his fire attacks. It stays within the same guidelines as Linus.
Special History: For some odd reason, Innes’s status inducing attacks are much more effective and longer lasting than many other Pokémon’s. He doesn’t know why, but he did mention that his father was a highly skilled master of such attacks.

Name: Florina
Species: Swellow
Gender: Female
History: Florina was found outside of Terra’s house, injured after falling from trying to fly for the first time out of her nest. Terra nursed her back to health, and since, Florina’s been extremely loyal to Terra. Florina hasn’t been the same, though, as one of her wings is also held out a little farther than the other when she isn’t using them. It doesn’t really affect her flight, though every once and a while she’ll complain of a slight pain.
Besides this information, Florina’s past is pretty much unknown, as she didn’t remember much after her fall.
Other: Besides the odd wing, Florina is a normal looking Swellow. Her personality is very odd for a Swellow as well. Instead of being hasty, Florina likes to survey her surroundings and thinks about her actions before she does anything else. She is very concise in her actions, often performing them perfectly as she’s thought about them beforehand.
Special Ability: Florina can use the airway currents to predict the actions of her opponents, closing her eyes to feel the tension of the foe’s muscles and the movement its body. She hasn’t mastered this ability, but it has gotten considerably better since she was younger.
Special History: Her mother being a Noctowl, Florina can see exceptionally well in the dark, enabling her to battle effectively at all times of day. Also, she can use a very weak Hypnosis, but not to put the opponent to sleep, more like to slow down the opponent’s reflexes.

Masa Mune

Thunder Trainer
Dream breaker, excellent sign-up
Mewga, yours is rejected, though barely.... I'll get to that in a moment though

As it stands now I cannot accept either. There is one small problem with both, which can't be overlooked and perhaps I should have made a bit clearer; and that is the fact no one other than Masa was born on that island in this RP. So being from the various tribes doesn't work. The reason I have this in place is because getting through the island itself is troubling and it wouldn't do to have people who left the island be surprised by how it's defended. It should also be noted that the swords choose their own bearers and it is not necessarily through family line.

Mewga, as for some of the other minor problems; who is Drear? There's also a number of spelling errors that are a bit to apparent. Finally we have the length... now while it is passable length wise, I would certainly prefer greater detail. As you can tell from the sign-up alone, this won't be an RP with many short posts.

The Accursed
Edited. Took out Water Tribe part and added minor location of town. Also, her father didn't own the blade I chose for her, I just meant he was fairly adept with swords in general. Thanks for the compliment, however ^^.

Night Terror
Hmm, I still have my old form for this RPG, so i'll see how it does on it's own for now. I've changed one of the pokemon, since I can't remember the history I had planned for it.

Name: Arden Steel
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Sword: Muremasa (Sword of Somber)

Description: He towers above at a massive six foot, four inches, but doesn't appear to be as frightening as he should be. His skin is of an average complextion, and is adorned with the wear and tear of life, along with a few pocks and small scars from various events in his past. He's got jet black hair, or he did, he's greying a bit, so it's got 'platinum highlights' as he likes to call them. He's got a strong build and good figure, retaining all his muscle and little to no fat. He's also got a jet black goatee.

He wears a pair of standard issue camouflage trousers (in blue, rather than green), heavy duty, with a thick black belt holding them up. The ends are rolled over a pair of black boots, while he wears a long sleeved white t-shirt, and over that a sleeveless dark grey shirt. He has a pair of gloves, nothing special just regular working gloves, usually tucked into the back of his trousers. On his hip is a small black box, similar to a walkie-talkie.

Personality: Arden is something of a loner, prefering to do things himself and his own way. It's because of this he only has a few pokemon. One a starter, one a gift and one he took pity on. These three pokemon have practically no evolution either, which seems to add to his 'loneliness'. He's not really lonely, he just prefers his own company to that of others. He's studied humans and pokemon alike, and has a dislike for the way the two are portrayed as being close, knowing that the real world is totally unlike that. As such, he treats his pokemon as equals. Arden isn't a very lively or outgoing person, he finds his own happiness in the calm and quiet. He also loves the night, where all things find a natural peace.

History: Arden started as a trainer late, when he was about 18, his parents refusing to let him start until he'd finished his full time education. Arden was given a Castform as his starter, but also given a Porygon as a gift from his entire family, for doing so well in school. With two pokemon, he trained. He did a few Gyms, but ultimately found more enjoyment out of exploring the world. He came to realise what a dark and unforgiving world it was, where pokemon didn't all live in peace as TV always showed. Instead it gave him a sense of how small he was in comparison to the real world, a feeling that was doubled when he realised humans could be just as ruthless (see Porygon history). By his early 30's, Arden had practically given up training to concentrate on studies again when he came across an Unown he would later take under his wing.

He took a mixed approached to both training and studying, and after finally getting his masters in Human and Pokemon Studies he spent a little more time training alone. He was leaving one day, when a bird dropped a scroll at his feet. Reading it, he felt a strange sense of deja-vu, as if what he was reading had been in his mind the night before.

Legendary Blessing: Rayquaza

Name: Qoppa
Species: Unown Q
Gender: None

History: It was one of those rare instances when you think you are being followed, but aren't that led to Arden finding Qoppa. Convinced he was being tailed, he took a route through caves and over small mounts which resulted in him arriving in a dale where lay a small black pokemon. The Unown, as he later learnt it's name, had led him there through it's weakened psychic abilities. Separated from it's group, it was alone in this world and at risk of being either killed or abused. Arden took it and cared for it best he could, but when the chance came for it return to it's own kind, it instead chose to stay.
Other: Qoppa has limited skills and abilities, but it can create low grade illusions. How affected people or pokemon are by these depends greatly on their own personalities or state of mind.

Name: Pi
Species: Porygon
Gender: None

History: Pi isn't a regular Porygon. It is a prototype 'Virus' Porygon. Arden came across it by a mixture of accident and curiosity. As a young man, he was browsing he internet when he came across a web-site featuring a 'Porygon Upgrade'. Arden already had a Porygon, a gift from a rich uncle, and he couldn't afford the newly released Upgrade direct from Silph. He downloaded the upgrade to his Porygon, foolishly believing it would be authentic. Pi instantly became more aggressive, threatening and developed an angry personality. Though it did not directly affect Pi's abilities, he is now a black and purple colour instead of the regular Red and Blue.
Other: Arden carries a black box on his hip that translates what Pi says into understandable language. It also bleeps out expletives if he so wishes it to. Which is handy considering Pi's personality. Due to it's illegal upgrade Pi is of the same power level as a Porygon2, though it still looks like an original Poyrygon.

Name: Cirrus
Species: Castform
Gender: Female

History: Cirrus was Arden's starter pokemon, a regular Castform, that over time and training has adapted to change her form in more than one way. With this extra training, Cirrus and Arden have grown very close and as such, both would do anything for the other.
Other: Cirrus can change her form to match Thunder Storms (Electric type), Sandstorms (Rock Type), Heavy Winds (Flying Type), High Pollen Count (Grass Type).

I haven't put in Special abilities or history, but if I need to, then I can add them.

Edited, not much i could do about the detail, added some, like when poachoo evolved.

katiekitten

The Compromise
Name: Kate

Age: 25

Gender:Female

Sword:Masamura – Sword of frenzy. Forged by the tribe of Lightning

Description: Kate is shorter than most people, at the age of 15 she stopped growing and has mantained her five foot height through the end of puberty. She is blond, with greeny blue eyes that switch every month or so, a rounder face than most with three freckles on her right cheek in the shape of a wonky orions belt. She has always been proud of the fact that her face reflected her personality, she had been told through out that she was 'cute' which is exactly how she wanted to be. She had a small mouth with white teeth, some a bit yellow from her younger years when she sometimes neglected to brush them for a week. She prefered a more casual attire, multicolored shirts ranging from purple to yellow with cute sayings were her main choice, with jeans that completed the look. She was mostly always found wearing inch high trainers that boosted her height so she did not look so much of a dwarf among others.

Personality: (I hate this part...) Bouncy, cheery, sometimes cheeky and a trouble maker. She can be mature and serious when the time is right, and is a serious opptomist. Just don't get on her nerves. Her calm temperment is merely a cover, she is afraid to let people know of the wild anger and rage that can burst out of her if provoked. She mostly has it under control, though she hates the sight of people mistreating Pokemon.

History: Kate was born in Saffron on hollows eve, a date that caused more suspicious people to fear her and nickname her 'The Devil'. That was one of the things that would get her blood up, and when she was younger she would erupt into a frenzy of kicks and punches that always left her victims unconscious. Because of that, she was expelled from the public school of Saffron and her family were forced to move farther afield in search of a school that would accept her. She finally mastered her control in her third grade, and would smile sweetly and direct the accusers to the nearest mental assilum. She was a clever girl, mostly getting A's in her subjects, but after seeing a the discrimination smart people got in her school, she mostly kept her grades to herself. Her best friend was a prodigy, and when they graduated (Kate with flying colors) they kept in touch.

Kate got her first Pokemon at age fifteen, a Pichu, and she adored it from the start. Her family then shipped them off to a Pokemon Academy near Cinnarbar, a place that only accepted trainers that were expected to go far. It was a beautiful place, a mansion in a v-shaped valley in the center of forest... It was there she met her Plusle and Minum.

She had been taking her usual early morning walk along a game trail that delved deep into the mountains that surrounded the Acedemy, when she heard the terrible sound of metal teeth snapping shut and the agonized scream of a trapped pokemon. Then came another voice, crying to the sky as if asking for help. It came far to the right, off the trail. Anger flared inside her as she toar through the undergrowth and stumbled into a clearing and found the origin of the lamentions. A plusle was laying on its side in the center of the clearing beside a creek that gurgled pleasantly as it made its steady way down to the sea. A cruel trap was clamped on the poor things right fore paw, blood streaming down and pooling at its feet. It face was clenched in pain as it struggled to pull free. Kates heart was wrenched as she looked at the Pokemon beside her. It was a minum, most probably her brother. It was attempting to assist its sibling, accasionly rising its head to the heavens and howling in misery. It turned when she entered and she watched as tears streamed down its face. She tried to approach, but the Minum jumped in the way and raised its hackles, growling. She knelt before it and looked it in the eyes. She tried to let it know that she was here to help, and held a staring contest with it. After a while it looked down and relented, stepping out of the way. She hurried forward and prised the Trap off.

Her head was reeling with astonishment, anger and disgust at the person who could of comitted such an evil deed. She scooped up the Plusle and, with the minum following close behind, returned to the acedemy and sought out Nurse Joy.

The days passed and the plusle recovered. The Plusle and Minum expressed their gratitude and adoration by following her where ever she went. She made no complaint, and after a while they became firm friends with her Pichu. Years passed and school flew by, lessons of combining attacks and Pokemon combos filled her morinings, whilst in the afternoon she pursued her personal task of understanding her Pokemon. She soon learned to reckognise their feeling from their body language. If Phinite (her Pichu) ever felt annoyed with her or at something it would walk stiffly until the matter had been resolved. The Pokemon, in turn began to understand Kate's words. The minute she realised it, she strived to further their knowledge, creating picture cards and pointing at them while saying a word. It worked, and they were able to comunicate with each other, the pokemon miming what they wanted to say and Kate speaking.

Finaly, after seven long years, she graduated and set forth into the real world, looking for adventure. To find it, she would travel to the most secret and unknown places, embark on exploring missions with Silph for a while, eager to sate her thirst for a challenge. The challenge came in the form of a scroll dropped at her feet by a strange bird Pokemon. Reading it, she mentaly conected it to the weird dream she had had the night before. She immediatly accepted and headed to the designated meeting place, interested to what she would find.

Legendary Blessing: Raikou

Other: She always carried with her Pichu's Pokeball (though she was rarely ever in it) and a lucky charm around her neck, a gift from her parents her last birthday. It was shaped like a lightning bolt, with the words "Silanti Noctar" (may piece be with you) engraved on the back

-Pokemon-

Name: Phinite
Species:pichu
Gender: Unknown (will be revealed later)
History: Phinite was given to Kate on her fifteenth birthday, and they came off with a shaking start. The Pichu despised the Pokeball, refusing to go in it unless it was nessesary. This caused ceaceless arguments at the beginning, until Kate finally accepted it and would ride with her either on her shoulder, on in her duffle bag she always carried on her back. Over her seven years course at the Pokemon Academy, they became inseparetable, Phintie adored Kate and loathed to be parted from her. Once, after being locked in the room (a feeble attampt from Kate so that she could concentrate on her lessons instead of being distracted by the boisturious Pichu practising acrobatics in the window) She shocked the door down, raced through the halls and sat firmly on the empty seet beside Kate, shocking anyone who tried to turf her off.

After exploring for a while, their relationship, if possible grew even stronger. Phinite loved Kate as much as she loved her.

Other: She is stronger than most Pichus, even Pikachus and Riachus. She refuses to evolve, she thinks that smaller is better, for she is a lot more agile and fast. Kate agrees, so she stays as a Pichu

Moves: She knows... Thunder, Thunder Wave, Helplessness (Kate spent a long time with her, working on a cute growl that lowers the enemys defense and attack, combined with Thunder) and finally Jab. (Another mixed attack. She combines agility, quick attack and bite. She darts in and bites the Pokemon savagely before nipping away again)

Name: Jasmine
Species: Plusle
Gender: Female
History: I have already included how they met so...
Jasmine chose herself a name from one of the many '1000 girl names!" books Kate supplied her with. She liked the look of it, and the sound, and would not answer to anything else Kate tried her with. Finally Kate gave up and let her keep the name.
Other: She has a brother, who is a Minum.
Distinctive Markings: She has a scar on her right front paw, left from when she was caught in a trap.
Moves: Thunder, Band together, (a special attack for two on two battles. She and Fidelio join together and dance around their target, generating more and more charge before finally releasing it, a super strong electric attack) Tail whip, and charge.

Name:Fidelio
Species:Minum
Gender: Male
History: As before, already explained it. He chose his name from a story that Kate was reading late one night. The Pokemon loved peering over her shoulder while she read, and he just pointed it out. He liked the look of it and the sound, and would not change, showing the same stubborness trait that Jasmine had. It ran in their family.
Jasmine and Fidelio were born halfway up one of the Mountains near the Acedemy, know to Humans as Howls Peak, to them as Hard water. They grew up there and, when they were only a year old, their mother and father were killed by trappers for their fur. Fear forced them to migrate down the mountain, where they lived outside the acedemy for a further year before the terible event that left Jamine permanently maimed. She would always walk with a slight limp, which thankfully did not inhibit her speed.
Other: Jasmines Brother.
Moves: Thunder, Band together (already explained) Thunder Wave and charm.

Name: Sanders
Species: Grovyle
Gender: Male
History: She bought him from a local breeder in Goldenrod during her travels in the realm of Kanto. At that point he was only an egg, and an odd one at that. It was green speckled, with a chain of flowers looped around the middle... She should have taken it as an omen of what he would become. But never the less, she nurtured the egg, keeping it warm, ectra, until it hatched, revealing a run of the mill Treeko. It was not until he evolved that his... interesting personality shone through.
Other: Hyper, always running everywhere. Very fast. An optimist, and oddly enough a hippy. He is very open, likes to hug trees, or anyone for that matter.
Moves: Razor leaf, Double slash, (a combination of double team and slash, Sanders runs very fast around opponent, every once in a while darting in to score a hit before dancing away again) Hum, (only usable in the heart of a forest. A combination that includes double team. Sanders runs and glides from tree to tree around the enemy, picking up speed. When he is at a speeed that doesn't allow the opponent to pinpoint his location, he begins to hum an extremely annoying tune. Confuses and agrivates the attacker, making them more prone to mistakes) Hug, (Sanders jumps on the opponent from behind, crushing its arms to its body and lifting it up, preventing it from escaping. He then grips really tight, and begins to suffocate opponent until they faint)

I'm glad you restarted this RPG, it was sad that you had to close it last time. :)

All three accepted. I'll open up a discussion topic today to give a crash course in Fuse attacks for those who want the help, though it seems everyone has some understanding of it.

::IMPORTANT::

I have just been informed that the person who the Murasame was oringally being saved for has decided ultimately to not join. This means it is now open. those already accepted MAY alter their profiles to claim this sword, but regardless of who it is, I will need an additional sample RP. The wielder of this sword will have a high responsibility in this RP, and whoever recieves the sword I will PM with the details as to some of these responsibilities.

::IMPORTANT 2::

The person who was to take the Muramasa will take the Murasame. The Muramasa is still reserved though as someone has already been decided on for it after careful deliberation... Though that is subject to change if the sign-up is rejected.

be creative
Name: Tasha Woods (Prefers to be called Tash)

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Sword: Muremune - Sword of Hate

Description: Six feet tall, with long midnight black hair that is nearly always neatly braided back into a long pony tail. Pale white skin and clear olive green eyes tell that she is oriental, a look accented by her full red lips that always seem to carry a secret smile. A short scar pierces her left eyebrow in two, a souvenir from an abusive father, and her delicate hands and feet make her more nimble than the average person. She has a slight frame, that combined with her height makes her tower over others, and she has a beautiful, if dangerous look about her.

She wears black hip hugging jeans with a slightly worn gold and leather belt; black soft sole boots that go up to her calves, designed so she can move without making a sound; and black v-neck T shirts with sleeves that widen at the cuff, forming mini drapes with a split at the bottom, that trail down the length of her hand.

Personality: Reticent, if not cold on the outside, she is distrusting because of a traumatic childhood. But behind the facade is an image only the people closest to her see. Sensitive and fragile, she relies on her cold outer image to prevent the pain she has suffered hurting her again. With few friends because of this, she is lonely, and feels uncomfortable in social situations.

History: She was born in Celadon during the early months of May to a newly wed couple, Joe and Lucy. Named after her mother's dead grand mother, she lived happily with her parents in a cosy two bed apartment until she was three months old, when they moved into a bigger cottage on the outskirts of Saffron. She spent a couple happy years there before the Disaster, where her mother died, and her life changed forever.

Her mother had been walking home late one night from the daycare where she worked (and where she had picked up the Eevee egg which was too become her daughter's life long companion), when a cry of pain made her go into the grass off the path. Tasha's mother was a kind hearted soul, and the sound of suffering to her was a call for help. She had walked for several minutes searching for the source of the cry and was just about to give up when she heard it again to her left. Speeding up as she realised the cry was steadily growing more desperate, she took a ragged path through the grasses until she stumbled upon a clearing. The cry came again and she had looked up to find a Nidoran lying with a deep scratch on it's flank on the other side of the clearing. She was halfway too it when the electricity attack aimed at the Nidoran struck her in the back and caused her too collapse. She was found by the city Police the next day, dead from a heart attack.

Becoming chemically Depressed by the loss, her father had taken to drinking, which led on to gambling and drunken rages. Tasha could do nothing but watch as their money slowly drained away, with her father to intoxicated to work and her too young. She had tried once to approach the subject with her dad, but all she got was a swipe with a broken whisky bottle and the scar she has now. Scared into silence, she was pulled out of school at the age of thirteen to take care of her father. Learning what she could from book's borrowed from the library whilst her dad was asleep, she ran away from home at the age of fifteen with her newly evolved Umbreon, Moonlight, too try herself out as a Pokemon trainer. She never saw her dad again.

Completing her Pokemon journey after three years of rough living and training, she used the money she got to settle down on Cinnabar Island with her pokemon. She has stayed there ever since making a living as a breeder and training in secret, until she recieved the letter that reminded her of her strange dream she got the night before. Interested despite herself, she accepted the challenge and headed to the meeting place.

Legendary Blessing: Moltres

Other: Her Pokemon don't live within their Pokeballs, they travel around with her.

-Pokemon-

Name: Moonlight
Species: Umbreon
Gender: Female
History: She was recieved by Tasha as an egg from her mother at the age of three. Hatching soon after, she was the only person who cared about Tasha after the Tragedy, and it was her help that pulled Tasha through what happened after. Evolving when Tasha was fifteen, they set out on their pokemon journey, and have been inseperable since.
Other: During her early years with Tasha, when they first became extremely close, a measure of understanding passed between them, making it so they could sense what the other is feeling when touching. Over the years later, that link has slowly strengthened, so now they need to only look at the other to tell what they are feeling.
Moves: Return, Psychic, Faint attack, Moon Beam (Or Lunar Beam. Dark version of Solar beam. Combines the attacks Moon Light and Hyper Beam. She stores the moon's rays as energy, like in the attack Moon Light, but instead of converting the energy into HP to heal herself, she concentrates it into a ray that strikes the foe in a fierce attack)

Name: Fleet
Species: Pigeot
Gender: Female
History: Met as a Pidgey by Tasha a month after she ran away. Tasha came across her huddled in an abandoned nest in a bush by the side of the road. She was a runt, left behind when the nest where she was born was attacked by a Growlithe scrounging for food. She had woken up to find a snout in her face and her family gone. Scared, she had curled up near the back of the nest, out of reach, until the Growlithe took what it wanted (the unborn pidgey eggs) and went away. She had waited for her family to come back, calling but they never came. She was too young too hunt for food herself, so she sat there, starving, until Tasha found her and nursed her back to health. She allowed herself to be caught and has worked with Tasha to this day.
Moves: Aerial Ace, Fly, Return, Tornado (A mixture of Fly and Gust. She flies up high as in the move Fly, then dives down in a tight spiral, getting faster and faster, whipping up an enormous wind that she then sends hurtling towards the foe.)

Name: Inferno
Species: Rapidash
Gender: Male
History: Found as a Ponyta by Tasha when exploring the Pokemon Lab on Cinnibar Island a month or so after she moved there. He was an arrogant, proud Ponyta that wanted to show off to the other Ponyta, so upon seeing Tasha, he attacked her. Surprised, she had watched as her Pokemon retaliated, which was exactly what he wanted. A fierce battle had followed, ending with him backing down, his pride injured. The next time she came exploring, he attacked her again. Then the next time. And the next. Every time he was defeated, and his respecty for her and her pokemon grew. After the sixth, and final time he had tried to beat her and lost, he had come over and licked her face, deciding he liked her after all. After that he wouldn't stop following her around until she had caught him. He evolved soon after, and still shows off around others of his species.
Moves: Return, Fire Blast, Stomp, Inferno (Fusion of Overheat and Headbutt. He charges at the foe at high speeds, friction making his flames glow brighter as he builds up energy, then he releases a stream of fire temporarily blinding the foe as he rams his head into it, sending them flying backwards)

The rest is quite good, though I can't officialy accept until the pokemon are in. However, I would say your chances at the moment are better than average, heheh.

The Murasama is now open once again. I can no longer leave it reserved.

Psyched Slash

Guest
Never fear, Psyched is here...!

-Character-

Name: Psyched Slash

Age: 31

Gender: Male

Sword: Muramasa - Sword of Calm

Description: 5’8”, average build, dark brown hair just a little too long to be called short, but not long enough to be called medium length, light golden-brown eyes. He dresses plainly, usually in a white or blue shirt with dark blue jeans. But he also frequently dons a sky blue or white cape unless he’s trying to avoid attention (assuming he’s in a populated area, which he frequently is not…)

Personality: Normally a calm person, but generally uncaring. He’s likely to simply ignore you, have you nothing of real interest to tell you. He can also be short tempered, however, though only with people, who he goes out of his way to avoid. He has very few human friends in the world, but those he has he’s very fond of. Pokémon, however, he has a much easier time with, though even they can bother him at times. Very intelligent, he spends a great deal of time in libraries on the rare occasion that he has to spend long periods of time in a city.

History: Psyched was born in Goldenrod, Johto. He came up in an average family, went to an average school, had average “friends,” and overall had a pretty average life. This nearly killed him.

He himself was always above average. He was always an avid learner, and is thus quite intelligent, and he quickly grew frustrated with the general ignorance those around him seemed to carry with them like a disease. While the advancement of technology always interested him, he always felt that it wasn’t worth the loss in nature. These feelings grew to a strong contempt for the human race in general.

Not that there weren’t a few diamonds in the rough for him. In particular was a girl by the name of Sonya Haven, a neighbor and schoolmate of his. She wasn’t very fond of human society either, though it’s going a bit to far to say that she hates people. Just the same, their similarities were what brought the two together, though very little ever came of it in those days.

By the time Psyched was 15, he simply couldn’t take the monotony of it all any longer. He’d been planning for a while to simply leave, possibly on a Pokémon Journey as so many young people before him had, though he never meant for it to be an official one, knowing that he’d not be able to put up with the politics behind it all.

And so he did. One morning, taking a single Great Ball he owned, a gift from an aunt of his from Kanto, he made a small trek south of the city to see about catching his first Pokémon. After a few hours and more Drowzee than he could count trying to Hypnosis him, Psyched finally found something worth catching.

This was an Abra. But not just any Abra. This Abra was wide awake upon his discovering it taking shelter from the ever warmer-growing early summer sun under a large tree. An oddity in itself, even before one noted that it made no move to flee Psyched, rather it rose to meet him. It seemed to look him over, both physically and mentally, before making it clear to Psyched that it wished to test him.

Naturally, not having a Pokémon at his side to battle the Abra, Psyched wasn’t quite sure how the Abra intended to do this. But within a moment an image of the Abra appeared in his mind. Psyched was confused, but the Abra, both the real one and the mental image, pointed first to its head and then to Psyched. Psyched decided to imagine himself before the Abra image in his mind, and the Abra nodded once he had.

And so the image of the Abra did battle with his own image in his mind. This was quite a difficult thing to do, as every attack the Abra in his mind made against his mental self felt very much real, and it took all he had just to concentrate hard enough to keep his image intact. But in the end, Psyched managed to come out on top, taking advantage of the lack of an Abra’s offensive capabilities (he was pretty sure it shouldn’t even have been capable of using a Confusion attack until evolution, but it was) and predicting what it might do.

Afterwards, with their mental battlefield fading from view, and, quite appreciated by both parties, the pain with it, the Abra allowed Psyched to capture it. And Psyched did so, dubbing the PSI Pokémon within the blue and silver ball Mind Games. Along with his first Pokémon, Psyched received in Mind Games a constant companion, a most powerful of allies, a trustworthy consultant, and, dare one risk the corniness of saying it, a true friend.

With Mind Games in tow, and at his side, the Abra not much liking the confinement of a Pokéball (though, as an Abra, he ended up spending a lot of time in it anyway, not being much capable of following Psyched while asleep,) Psyched made his way on his odyssey, heading first north to Ecruteak. But before he could really start, he ended up being stopped in the National Park by none other than Sonya.

He hadn’t told a living soul, nor a dead one for that matter, short of Mind Games what he was planning to do, yet she still found him as he left. It didn’t surprise him, however, but he didn’t know why. It just seemed so like her to know something like this.

He was surprised by what she had come to say, though. She didn’t want him to go, though she understood why he wanted to. He appreciated her concern, which from anyone else would have angered him, but wasn’t going to let anything, even her, turn him away from his plans…though he had to admit he didn’t really have any short of leaving and exploring. Psyched left Sonya in the Park with a simple goodbye, and wasn’t to hear from her for a very long time. He later found out that she actually ended up taking the same initiative he did only a short time later, leaving herself with a Pokémon she caught on her own, a Vulpix named Kitsune.

His journeying first brought him to Ecruteak City, as his direction would imply. He ended up having to stop here for a while to make some definite plans for the future. While in town, he spent a lot of time at the gym, silently watching the battles taking place, much to the displeasure of the Gym Trainers, who must’ve thought any number of things about him. The Gym Leader, Morty, however, took a more positive interest in him, as would later become evident.

Quickly finding that spending the night at the Pokémon Center would be too much of a headache to be worth the price of admission, which of course was nonexistent, Psyched spent his nights camping out, in a manner, as he mostly just put down his bag to use as a pillow. On the second night of this, Psyched and Mind Games got an unexpected visitor in the night.

A small shadow passed over nearly full moon a number of times. Mind Games was the first to make notice of this, and woke Psyched to point it out. They watched it for a moment before the shadow stopped and descended towards them, revealing itself to be a rather nervous- and oddly serious-looking Gastly. The Gastly looked Psyched up and down before turning towards Mind Games.

The two Pokémon had a short and silent conversation before Mind Games also silently told Psyched that the Gastly wished to join them, at least for the time being. While the Gas Pokémon hadn’t informed Mind Games on exactly why it wished this, Mind Games felt nothing malicious about its intents. And so, after a small mock-battle between the two Pokémon, which simply involved Mind Games simply hitting the wild Pokémon with a Confusion, Psyched caught the Gastly with one of his newly bought Pokéballs. The Gastly was nicknamed Shadow shortly after, unoriginal but fitting.

The following day, Psyched went east to Mt. Mortar’s cave. Psyched had noticed this cave when he was younger on a few trips he’d taken with his family into Ecruteak, but he’d never been allowed to go anywhere near it. Now, having the chance to venture into it, he was quick to take the opportunity.

What he found was rather disappointing, however. Mostly he just discovered flocks of Zubat living in the cave, which he would later find you were wont to do if you ever did any spelunking. His luck in his exploration changed just before he was about to leave, though. In a rather broken up arm of the cave, Psyched discovered a lone Machop, evidently the cause of the surrounding destruction. Psyched watched it for a little while, cutting into the stone of the mountain as it trained itself harder than Psyched had ever witnessed a wild Pokémon do. It became apparent that this part of the cave was at least in part carved out by the Machop in its training.

The Machop continued in this way for a while before noticing its audience. It didn’t seem to appreciate Psyched and Mind Games intruding on its privacy, and decided to take the payment for the show by force. Mind Games met the Superpower Pokémon’s attack without skipping a beat, and the two did battle. This battle was where the Machop really impressed its two watchers.

It stood up to Mind Games initial Confusion much better than could possibly have been expected and laid into the PSI with a physical assault. It took good timing on Mind Games’ part to land a highly concentrated Confusion at close range even as the Machop held it in it grasp, possibly preparing a Seismic Toss, to finish the battle in his favor. Psyched then caught this Machop, not willing to give up such a powerful potential ally, and named it Titan after it agreed to stay with the party, mostly out of want for a rematch with Mind Games at some later time.

Before leaving Ecruteak, however, one last thing stood before Psyched: a challenge from Morty. Psyched was hoping to leave as quickly as he could, having spent far longer in the city already than he had intended to do, but wasn’t about to back down from a challenge. The battle was as difficult as one might expect for such a new trainer, but Psyched managed to come out on top, much to both his and Morty’s surprise. Afterwards, Morty was disappointed to discover that Psyched wasn’t an official Pokémon League approved trainer, but offered him a Fog Badge as a memento anyway, which Psyched declined. Afterwards, Morty’s offer to give him the badge whenever he met up again with Psyched was what kept the two in touch.

Psyched’s wandering took him through a great portion of Johto, and brought into his possession a number of other Pokémon, before he felt it necessary to expand his horizons. Literally, mind, as in taking the first available ship from Olivine to Kanto. And so he did, finding that the ocean wasn’t much to his liking, though not for any reason like seasickness, he just didn’t like it for some inexplicable reason.

And it was for similar reasoning that he grew fond of Kanto really quickly. In truth, the region was far from very different from Johto, and he was well away of this fact, which is why it confused him so.

Trying not to dwell on it, he left Vermillion, not seeing much point staying in town, what with its most interesting aspect being a tunnel full of Diglett. He traveled through most of the region, stopping at almost all the major cities, generally out of necessity. It was during this time that Mind Games, Shadow, and Titan all evolved into their intermediate stages, due mostly in part to how many trainers Psyched was unlucky enough to meet who had the same style of avoiding the beaten path.

Upon finding himself in Saffron City, he instantly was hit by his dislike of big cities as it came rushing back to him not unlike Kyogre’s Surf. Yet, he couldn’t leave. Something about the city drew him in. It would be a while before he found what it was, though.

He first headed to the fighting dojo, at Titan’s request. Even though he’d lived in Goldenrod, he’d never had the opportunity to ride the Magnet Train into town, not that he’d ever wanted to, believing the speed at which it moved to ruin the experience of riding a train, and as such had never been to Saffron before. He at first believed that the dojo was the city’s gym.

So, after Titan made short work of the other Fighting-types the “Gym” had to offer, the two left before any offer of a badge could come, which of course it would not have. Mind Games could have quickly pointed out to Psyched that this dojo had been no official gym, the periodic disgruntled mental outbursts from the trainers therein who refused to get over this fact making it quite obvious to anyone with at least an average degree of psychic prowess. However, Mind Games wasn’t present at this time.

Mind Games, who, in his early days as a Kadabra, spent a lot of time on his own, no longer limited by his old Abra nature of needing to sleep a majority of the day, was at this time exploring Saffron on his own, searching for himself the strong psychic energy he easily recognized in the city. Psyched had been training with Mind Games in developing his own psychic power, his initially battle with the PSI as an Abra having proven that he had a lot of potential in this regard, which it can be noted Psyched found quite amusing -- a human being trained by a Pokémon -- and felt was something a lot of people could really benefit from, even though it was unlikely very many people would be will to “degrade themselves to such a level,” as he was sure some might say to such an idea. However, Psyched hadn’t come very far at this time, and wouldn’t have made a realization such as what the strange feeling that kept him in this city was, or picked up on the headache inducing mental whining of the fighting dojo trainers.

He discovered it to be emanating from the city’s real gym. He pondered on whether to head in now or wait for Psyched, and decided upon the latter. He found Psyched in the most deserted corner of the Pokémon Center’s lobby, which was still very populated in such a large city. He told him via the telepathic link the two had managed to develop in their training, which was something that they came to early on, and which remained to this point Psyched’s greatest psychic accomplishment, about the gym, and Psyched was quite interested.

And so the following morning Psyched and Mind Games ventured into the gym. Discovering its teleportation system, Mind Games drew the answer to the puzzle from the minds of the various trainers in the gym, and he and Psyched made their way quickly to its gym leader. Sabrina was a little surprised at how quickly the two had reached her, and a little annoyed when she realized that it was due to Mind Games cheating, but she hid it well enough. Psyched quickly became fascinated by Sabrina, both for her powerful psychic abilities and her similarities to both himself and Sonya, the latter only being realized after he’d left Saffron City.

The two battled before anything else. Mind Games fought against Sabrina’s Kadabra in the one on one unofficial battle, as no battle Psyched has ever taken part in can be official. The fight was quite intense, but in the end Sabrina won out, she and her Kadabra being the far more advanced team in both mental abilities and battle experience. This marks the first loss for both Psyched and Mind Games (save when Mind Games lost to Psyched, of course.)

This only made Psyched even more interested in the Gym Leader. After the battle, they talked for a short time. She seemed to lose any interest in the duo at this point, however, short of a rematch if they cared for one, Sabrina not caring much more for people than Psyched did, which he could respect. And so they left the city, returning to take up the offer of a rematch when they returned to Kanto after spending some time in Hoenn later on. It can be noted that Psyched won this rematch, and that Sabrina offered him a Marsh Badge much in the same way as Morty had at the beginning of Psyched’s journey, though she didn’t press the issue when he refused to take it.

Psyched spent a shorter time exploring Kanto than he did Johto before opting to leave, though not before catching a number of Pokémon. The next location he traveled to was the island region of Hoenn, disliking the long ship ride from Vermillion to Slateport, but not as much as he quickly grew to dislike the region itself.

As a result of his natural dislike of the island, Psyched made very few stops of any great length anywhere on the island, mostly making stops only to restock supplies, which was less often than normally, now have a Pidgeot, by the name of Kaze, who was willing to make supply runs for him on occasion. The few longer pauses in his time in Hoenn were in Fortree City, finding the city with its almost primitive make up to be worth his time, and also in Mossdeep, initially out of want to make a quick run through its Psychic gym, which he never did, but instead stayed to watch the launch of a rocket from the space center. Psyched wasn’t able to make a stop at Sootopolis, not having realized that the city even existed, but if he had he might have had a different opinion of the region, and when he did finally spend some time in the watery city years later, he did indeed suddenly like the island region at least a little more.

It wasn’t long before Psyched wanted out of Hoenn. But he didn’t much care to put up with the long boat ride back to Kanto. So, instead he did a bit of island hopping, taking to the air rather than the sea, with help from his Dragonite, Leviathan, who he caught as a Dratini before leaving Johto. As he and Mind Games went island to island riding on the Dragon-type’s back, traveling as far as they could by day before stopping off at an island for the night, which should have taken as long to reach their destination had they not gone off course on a few occasions, none amongst them being very good navigators, they made a most interesting discovery on one of the islands they landed on.

It wasn’t until they’d taken some time to explore the island on foot that they noticed something different about it. In a more wooded area toward the center of the island, they discovered a very old ruin of a long since abandoned castle. The castle was almost completely hidden from aerial view by the island’s foliage. It took all of a minute to decide to explore this structure.

The castle’s innards were all but completely empty. Anything in it that could have rotted away with time had, only a few sparse fragments of what must have once been large rugs which weren’t the color of mold were left on the stone floors. Anything else that might have been in the castle was either taken by whoever had once lived here or by looters from years past, as all evidence pointed to Psyched being the first human to enter this building in well over a century.

The few relics left in the building included a large stone chair which would have taken the strength of 5 Taurus together to remove from its resting place in what was most easily described as a throne room, though the seat bore no resemblance to any picture of a throne Psyched had ever seen. Its seeming worthlessness probably had as much to do with why it hadn’t been stolen as much as its weight, actually.

Further investigation revealed a large locked chamber deep in the structure’s basement. After breaking into it, not without a large joint effort between almost all of the Pokémon who followed Psyched, it was discovered to be a large vault which had completely avoided the hands of any who might have pillaged it. To call it a treasure trove would be going too far (even if it is a treasure trove by definition), but it was still a small fortune which any museum would kill to have on display. Psyched went through everything in the vault, but took very little.

The most important thing he took was a European-style sword he found hanging on a wall over a pedestal with a leather scabbard resting on it. The blade at first glance looked to be nothing more than a decorative trinket, what with its jeweled hilt and intricately designed plaque it hung from. But it became quickly obvious that it was most definitely designed as a weapon meant for use.

This sword stood up much better than anything else in the vault, or the entire castle, including the castle itself, to the test of time. It was baffling how it was in such great condition. Psyched took the sword due to its great shape, and has since worn it at his side whenever he can. Other than the sword, he took very little, including a few old coins of various metals that he eventually had checked out by a professor at the Pewter City museum, who couldn’t identify them.

This island and it’s broken castle became, in time, Psyched’s new base of operations. It took a lot of work on Psyched’s part, with the help of Mind Games, Shadow, Titan, and the other Pokémon who had joined Psyched’s ranks, but they eventually made it livable, with the basic of modern necessities, including it’s own power supply thanks to the work of a number of Electric-types in Psyched’s line-ups who alternate between supplying the building with power when it needs it.

A lot of Psyched’s Pokémon have since remained behind on this island, to care for and guard it, on the off chance that it might be discovered by someone. Psyched and Mind Games, with Leviathan’s help, took back to their island hopping back to Kanto afterwards and began setting things up for this renovation before continuing on their journey.

It was during this time that Psyched and Mind Games had their rematch against Sabrina and her PSI Pokémon, which had since become an Alakazam. Mind Games had also evolved by now, and how it happened is quite important.

Leviathan landed on the shore of Pallet Town rather than in Vermillion City when they reached Kanto. Here Psyched met up with Professor Oak, who showed a lot of interest in the trainer, and offered to help Psyched become an official trainer upon discovering that he wasn’t. Psyched declined this offer as politely as he could before heading north.

After a quick trip through Viridian City, stopping only out of interest of the goings on at the gym, which they decided weren’t worth the trouble of interfering with. They stopped for a short time in Pewter to have those coins looked at before moving on. Psyched was quite annoyed by the trip he had to make through Mt. Moon, though he managed to collect a few Moon Stones here which were added to an ever growing collection of various trinkets of the like he’d found over the course of his wandering, and which later ended up lining the walls of a room in his new “stronghold.”

It was in Cerulean City that it happened. He was restocking supplies and making a quick stop at the Pokémon Center, where a drunken old man, who seemed to believe that Psyched was fascinated by his ramblings, followed him around every time Psyched tried to move away from him. He was talking about a cave to the north that, according to him, was being guarded by the Pokémon League. He was angry that he wasn’t allowed to enter, and seemed to believe that there was some sort of cover-up involved, though of what he couldn’t say.

In truth this was the Unknown Dungeon, which was only guarded due to the relatively powerful Pokémon living in it. Psyched, having kept his temper long enough with this old drunkard as to not put him in a coma, actually became interested in this cave, whatever it was, and went to check it out.

Upon meeting the same guard who wouldn’t allow the drunkard into the cave, Mind Games knocked the man out with a concentrated Confusion after Psyched’s nigh-nonexistent negotiation skills failed to get them into the cave the easy way. Inside the cave, Psyched was instantly reminded of Saffron City, in that the cave emanated a strong energy, which this time Psyched recognized as a powerful psychic. This was odd, but intriguing, and drew both Psyched and Mind Games in even more.

They discovered that the Pokémon League was guarding the cave with good reason, the Pokémon inside being the strongest they had ever discovered in the wild. Just the same, it served as little more than a good training opportunity for Psyched and all of the numerous Pokémon who were with him. That is until they got farther into the cave.

At the end of their spelunking expedition they found themselves face-to-face with a creature none in the party could recognize, except to note that it bore a striking resemblance to a Mew, which from Psyched’s understanding was believed to be extinct, or at least so rare and elusive as it would seem to be. It was quite obvious to both Psyched and Mind Games, and to the others really, that this creature was the source of the psychic power in the cave.

Mind Games interpreted for Psyched what the creature began to tell him. It called itself Mewtwo, confirming that it was related to Mew somehow, and that it wished to test him, or rather kill him if he wasn’t able to defeat it. Mind Games also told Psyched that he thought they should probably leave immediately. Psyched, while normally not one to cut and run under any circumstance, was inclined to agree.

But Mewtwo wouldn’t allow it. It began the attack, and it took all of Psyched’s Pokémon to effectively hold back the assault. As the battle progressed, Mewtwo took out one ‘Mon after another until only three remained. These were Mind Games, Shadow, and Titan, Kadabra, Haunter, and Machoke respectively. It was in their efforts that the three of them simultaneously evolved.

At this, Mewtwo was impressed, and, after the three redoubled their attack, decided to let them go. Psyched and his entire party were teleported out of the dungeon by Mewtwo, finding themselves outside of the Cerulean Pokémon Center again. After recollecting themselves, Mind Games filled Psyched in on the rest of what he had read from Mewtwo’s mind during the battle, which was how Mewtwo was created in a lab on Cinnabar Island and how he escaped from said lab.

The party afterwards went to Cinnabar Island and found this lab. Within they found a number of records about the lab’s capture of a Mew and it’s experiments on this Mew and its baby, which became Mewtwo as a result. Psyched also made a quick stop at the not-so-burned-down Pokémon lab on the island to see if maybe they might be able to date those coins he still had on him. They weren’t interested in such things, though, and told him that he should try selling them to the Pewter museum.

Resisting the urge to burn this lab down to match the other, Psyched and co. headed back to Cerulean. They went back through the Unknown Dungeon, perhaps pressing their luck a bit too much, but knew from the moment they entered that Mewtwo was no longer here. They reached the small island in the cave that Mewtwo had been found originally but was no longer, and then searched the cave as thoroughly as humanly and Pokémonly possible, confirming that the DNA Pokémon was no longer in the dungeon. They never found Mewtwo again.

They eventually made their way south to Saffron City again. Sabrina was uncharacteristically happy to see Psyched again, but what ensued was little more than their origin meeting about a year ago at this point: an intense one on one battle between PSI Pokémon, followed by a short awkward conversation. Sabrina also offered the Marsh Badge to Psyched, which of course he declined. And that was it.

Psyched finally gave in and took a ride on the Magnet Trade back to his hometown. He was disappointed to find that Sonya had followed in his footsteps and left town, only shortly after he had. He decided that he might as well visit his family. And afterwards wished he hadn’t. Both due to the fact that he had to listen to his mother for hours crying about his sudden departure almost 2 full years prior and because after his return became known, he had a small conflict with Sonya’s family who blamed him for her leaving afterwards.

He left town as quickly as he could. He ended up spending some time in the Ilex Forest, with Kaze, the Pidgeot, making a round trip to the castle to bring the Pokémon news of Psyched’s travels and supplies. Psyched waited in the forest a few days while Kaze made the trip. The forest was an excellent place to relax, and this rest was much appreciated, though Psyched felt bad for making Kaze work in the meantime, even if it had been her idea.

The stay in the forest yielded much more than merely a rest, however. During the morning of the day Kaze returned, the Pidgeot making it back shortly after noon, someone else passed through the forest. This wasn’t the first person who had passed through during Psyched’s stay here, but Psyched had avoided contact with the few younger newbie trainers who had walked through. This person however he realized he knew after a few moments of watching her from the his seat beneath a large tree. It was Sonya!

Their reunion was surprisingly heartfelt, considering the parties involved. Psyched told Sonya what he’d seen and done for the past two years, including the island and castle he’d discovered off the coast of Kanto. Sonya is to date the only person he has ever told, and she has visited it on three occasions.

Sonya also told Psyched about what she had done. A major difference between the two’s journey was that Sonya, after catching a Vulpix, which she named Kitsune, had made her way to New Bark Town and becoming an official trainer, though mostly just for the heck of it, not having gone out of her way to challenge gyms or anything. As it turns out, they she was in Hoenn at the same time Psyched was, albeit on the opposite side of the region. Here she caught a Kirlia, who she named Omoi Yuugi, who had since played a similar role to Sonya and her party as Mind Games played to Psyched and his, and who would later play a similar role to Mind Games as Sonya plays to Psyched.

The two went their separate ways, however. They met again on multiple occasions, but did little more than inform one another of their travels before moving on.

It was shortly after this that Psyched met Masa. He actually made his way through Masa’s compound, a most annoying venture, though he must admit he enjoyed the challenge, painful as it was. He was rather indifferent with Masa, though. Masa was the type of person who Psyched would either become great friends/acquaintances with, or hate with a passion. He’s yet to determine which it is.

Over the years, Psyched has spent less and less time traveling the world, finding that after a while it became little more than more of the same. As such he spends more and more time at his island base, which has since become increasingly more hospitable. He’s also spent more time with Sonya, on the off chance that they might run into each other, which was easier as she was now living back in Goldenrod, though Psyched still avoids the city when he can.

One night just recently, Psyched had a most peculiar dream. This dream involved a blue dragon-looking creature. And a sword. And an island. And a number of other things, but most of the rest didn’t seem very important and got muddled together. In the morning he told Mind Games about it, and the Alakazam has been trying to help him figure out what the dream was, Professor Xavier-style.

Legendary Blessing: Latios

Other: Carries the sword he found in the castle ruins with him whenever possible. Has limited telepathic and telekinetic power. Psyched is also very much in love with his friend Sonya, as is she with he, but it’s not in either of their characters to act on these feelings.

-Pokémon-

Name: Mind Games
Species: Alakazam
Gender: Male
History: Was an Abra living south of Goldenrod until he met Psyched. The day that Psyched caught him, he was the only Abra who didn’t flee at the sight of this human, rather he was drawn to him. He was really little more than the average Abra, save that he could use Confusion, unlike all the other Teleporting Abra. After joining Psyched he has faithfully followed him, and has been rather like the advisor in the group.
Other: Is rarely seen in a Pokéball, rather opting to walk with Psyched at all times. He has a “thing” for Psyched’s friend Sonya’s Gardevoir, Omoi Yuugi, who plays a similar role to Sonya and he does to Psyched. Talks with Psyched via telepathy, and one is likely never to hear Psyched speak a word to him. Also acts as a translator between other PKMN and Psyched.

Name: Shadow
Species: Gengar
Gender: Male
History: When he found Psyched, he’d been on a journey of his own. He was worried that he wasn’t up to the task that was before him, and felt that Psyched and Mind Games would be a large help in it. He never told his allies about this journey, waiting until he felt he himself was ready to tackle the task before he brought the others in on it. He later regretted this. After evolving into a Haunter, he suddenly became little more than the stereotypical Haunter, obsessed with tricks and all the other fun stuff that comes with being a ghost, completely forgetting the mission he’d been on. When he became a Gengar, he found himself stuck halfway between how he was as a Ghastly and as a Haunter, keeping his Haunter tendencies, but remember bits and pieces of that which he’d forgotten, but never enough to remember it completely. Almost a split personality, really.
Other: N/A

Name: Titan
Species: Machamp
Gender: Male
History: Born in Mt. Mortar, and quickly became hell-bent on becoming the best he could be. After losing to Mind Games, he decided to join the group, feeling that Psyched could be the key to unlocking a great strength in him. After becoming a Machoke, he had decided to avoid evolution until he’d had a rematch with Mind Games and come out on top, however the Mewtwo incident forced him to change these plans.
Other: N/A

Name: Jolt
Species: Manectric
Gender: Male
History: Was little more than a random Electrike who Psyched met in Hoenn. But he proved himself to be fiercely loyal to Psyched and the others. He evolved quickly after joining the party, and with his power also grew his loyalty. When an Absol suddenly tried to assault Psyched, he smelled the attacking Pokémon before Psyched and Mind Games, neither being capable of sensing a Dark-type, noticed them, and acted quickly. He has proven to be the best Electric-type in Psyched’s party.
Other: After agreeing to join Psyched’s party, Blade, the Absol, actually started following Jolt, treating Jolt like its mentor. This bothered Jolt for a long time, but he has since decided that it was a compliment, even if annoying, and has started to act like the mentor Blade treats him as.

Name: Blade
Species: Absol
Gender: Male
History: Has chosen not to reveal anything about himself to the rest of the party. However, he has told Jolt that he attacked Psyched because he disliked humans, having had bad experiences with them in the past. To this, Jolt replied that it was fitting, as Psyched couldn’t stand humans, either.
Other: Follows Jolt as his mentor.

Name: Kaze
Species: Pidgeot
Gender: Female
History: Was born to a pair of “Shiny” Pidgeots. The only survivor of an attack by a hungry Fearow when she was still an egg. Has decided to try its best to make up for the loss of its brethren by becoming as strong as possible. Spent a lot of time before joining Psyched fighting Fearow and Spearow who might seek to attack Pidgey, Pidgeoto, and Pidgeot. Actually killed the Fearow that attack its nest, though she’ll never realize it. After her parents died, she decided to leave her home, and was quick to go with Psyched, rather flattered by his and Mind Games’ fascination with her, never having thought much of her superior size in relation to the average Pidgeot.
Other: Frequently volunteers to run supplies between Psyched and his island “compound”, and also to bring orders for supplies into towns when Psyched just isn’t in the mood to go himself. She’s laughed at every time she enters a new town to do this, but a quick unfolding of her massive wingspan coupled with a piercing glare at whoever might laugh at her is usually enough to shut up these people.

Name: Koudo
Species: Poliswine
Gender: Male
History: Was something of a leader in a group of Poliswine, being the oldest by far. He was rather content with his life, except that he outlived all those around him. This upset him greatly, and by the time he joined up with Psyched the only Swinub and Poliswine left were far to young to really know him anymore. This depressed him increasingly as the days rolled on. He decided he wanted to leave this place, maybe see the world before his death, which had to be soon, he figured, looking at how old he was now. The easiest was would to be captured by a trainer, so he set out to do this. He moved farther up in the mountain, where trainers were known from time to time to venture into. He’d have joined any trainer, but it was Psyched who he met first.
Other: Likes to stay behind in Psyched’s castle as much as he likes to explore with him. So he ends up staying behind quite frequently. A lot of the other ‘Mon come to him for advice at the castle, which makes him very happy, reminding him of the old days.

OOC: Finally got my confirmation email... Gotta avoid letting my account expire this time...

;065;

EDIT: (1-10-06) Changed the personality, gonna work on the history... Would rather cut out the part on Masa than change Psyched's age, though... Especially because it'd be a little...difficult to suddenly throw in an extra 10-15 years...

EDIT: (1-12-06) Won't be able to finish the redone history tonight, so I'll just put up what I've done so far... And I chose to give the age increase a go... Oughta be good for my RP skills at the least, which, in spite of what you might say, could really use some work... Gonna probably want to do something with the appearance though...

EDIT: (1-13-06) You'll have to forgive me, but I'm not yet done... Time limitations, you understand (coupled with my natural laziness...*cough*) I'll try to get it done ASAP... I have a lot of free time tomorrow, so I should get it done soon...

EDIT: (1-14-06) Editted my appearance and added a lot to the history... Methinks it's too long... I should have it done today... Sorry if I'm holding it up...

EDIT: (1-16-06) Sorry for the delay, but my computer has been...let's say uncooperative for the past few days... Now it's just running slow, which is annoying but better than being hit by a barrage of pop ups... Don't know if the rewrite is much better, but it's the best I can do...

Psyched, I'm pleased with the length and and attempted detail, but as it stands now, it's declined.

Your personality area is fairly bad off as you've managed to contradict Psyched's actions and thoughts with the good at heart statement. However your biggest problem area is history. It's not so much a history as it is a list of training accomplishments. It tells little of how Psyched's life has developed or offer reason to how he is. Instead it just lists various important battles. Now I personally know better than this, but I still cannot accept a sign-up that shows no rhyme or reason to a character. So, Edit it, work on the flow, change the history into an actual history, and I'll be more than happy to have you along as it would help having at least two people with a deeper understanding of combo/fuse attacks.

Lastly, this is optional mind you, if you want to have the extra bit of history with Masa, Psyched's age will need to increase. Masa is now 33, and when Psyched met him Masa wasn't older than 19. At which point Psyched was 15 or 16 if I recall. So if you want to keep that part, I have to ask for the appropriate age increase.

Now you see me...
(Still in progress.. just thought I'd post most of what I have.. will be edited in in about a half-hour)

Name: Selene Caminach
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Sword: Murasame
Description:

With strait, dark blonde hair, and deep forest green eyes, Selene has a strange aura about her. Her appearance is not a odd one, and she has a distinc aura of one who has seen many things, and knows what she’s doing - and what she strives for. Despite wandering from place to place like many other like her, she keeps up a very clean, though worn appearance. Her skin’s white, and more on the pale side, despite having frequent acquaintance with the sun. When traveling, she always wears a forest green cloak, while the rest of her clothing tends to side with the darker shade of the spectrum – and all of her close tend to be very durable, since she travels often.

She keeps everything of value in a brown leather , with the exclusion of her sword (Murasame), which she keep sheathed and ready to use at her side, as well as the Apricorn Pokeballs (that she made herself) that sometimes hold her Pokémon. She wears no jewelry, seeing it as little more then a show of vanity meant to impress and show off. Make-up too, is out of the question, though truth be told, she needs (and wants) none.

Personality:

Born under quite atypical circumstances, Selene is a dark, calm, contemplative being, with the knack for debilitating strategic maneuvers. She’s was a rather quiet girl when she was around nineteen, and she still is, but a bit less so. She usually speaks only when needed around those she isn’t comfortable with – and when it happens, she’s not tentative about speaking her mind. She does so in a calm manner, never being overly flowerly, but strait and to the point. She believes there’s no reason to do any less.

Selene also believes in the “fast, but efficient” means of accomplishing the things on her agenda, provided it has been well planned and thought out. After all, there is not a very large margin for mistakes. As a person who follows this train of thought, she’s rarely rash, (And only in situations where thinking thoroughly is out of the question) an she actsonly as she sees best, and with thought put into it. She always considers both sides of the situation.

She’s fairly easy to tolerate, though it’s obvious she’s not the most outgoing of persons, and making friends with her is rather difficult, as she is wary, and not eager to put that must trust in a person readily, until they have gained her respect, or trust – even if they weren’t aware of it in the first place. One of the other reasons she’s hard to make friends with (or one of the reasons people hate her) is because of her.. unusual way of speaking, which was quite prominent when she was younger, but as the years have gone by, her unusual way of speaking has faded to some extent, as she’s often forced to mingle with many different crowds – and her way of speaking in her village sounds rather odd and outlandish. She’s rarely sarcastic, or condescending – though sometimes she may seem like it, due to her blunt truthfulness when it comes to matters. She does not mean for herself to sound haughty, it’s just she believes it’s right, and sees no reason not to bring that branch of thought into view.

Despite being wary to trust others, once she puts her loyalty into someone or something, it’s extremely hard to break. Her loyalty is absolute, and disobeying that loyalty intentionally (meaning mostly in a drastic way, not the petty stuff overmuch) is, as she refers to it “like cutting yourself”. And for friends, she would go to any lengths to help them – and this counts for those she trusts and respects. She would also go out of her way to help those who blatently need help – such as, she’s not one to stand by while someone’s getting robbed, despite who the person may be.

Selene despises traitors, not matter what side they’re on . She also hates those who can’t make decisions for themselves, as well as those who see the world as one big, spinning “wheel of fortune”.

Her relationship with her Pokémon is much better than it is with humans, having grown up in a culture which respects Pokémon and treats them as equals. Her values from her village also taught her to respect life, and to treasure it, which explains why she is very hesitant at killing, and will only do so if there is clearly no other way out of the matter.

Her enjoyments include battling – which she is adept at. And to clarify, she will never cheat. She also enjoys quotations, myths, and legends, and they will often leak out when she’s trying to prove a point.

To also add, she can understand Pokémon very well, due to the village circumstances of which she grew up in, as is explained a few times in this sign up. They were raised around Pokémon, and treated them as equals, and over the years they were taught to understand Pokémon to a great extent. Speaking Pokémon is a harder aspect, though she can manage to say a few things in the Pokémon language, usually restricted to small, concrete words which can be handy in passing on information in front of humans which don’t know or understand the language.

History:

Growing up nearby the ilex forest, in a deserted little region that few ever ventured or traveled to, Serene lived a life atypical of a normal child. She was raised in a small village, where loyalty was stressed, in their tight-knit group of inhabitants. Their customs, too, were a little different from the typical ways of the world. The only people who ever came close to it, were the ninjas that originated around the Gym Leader, Koga’s family line.

Children were taught, and raised in a different manner, that taught them to think for themselves, and to use your head. However, at the same time they also taught them discipline, loyalty, and respect, which made them very sought after followers. As such, Selene was not raised by her mother and father, in fact, she barely knew them. As was the custom, she was to be raised under a different household, with long visits to her real parents few and fair between. It was almost as if they ceased to exist. But because of the town’s culture, there were no bitter feelings, or quarrels regarding this. Instead, she was watched over and cared for by a Master (or Mistress, depended on who was the official head of house.. it could be male or female, regardless whether a person was married or not.)

The master was responsible for the complete and total education of the child (or children. Two were the usual number, any more than that were rare.). In Selene’s case, Master Kendrick, an older, strict man whose wife had perished some years ago, raised her. He had a soft heart underneath the rocky exterior, and taught her much of what he knew. This varied from Pokemon Training (Which was a matter of grave responsibility, and battles were taken with the utmost respect and grace), to understanding Pokémon, to general education.

She grew up this way, becoming the person Selene wanted to be. Selene was never a rebellious child, and held a great devotion for her Master – who was as close of a father to her as one could get. It was also well known that Master Kendrick was a part of the Team Rocket Intelligence Team. So well known, in fact, everyone in the town knew it. No secret was easily kept in the small town, where knowing about one another was everything. The thing was, they didn’t care. You could come from any background, and fit in, as long as you never forgot the devotion and loyalty you owed to the “clan”. It didn’t matter what sect you belonged to, and no grudges were ever held. It was your choice, after all, you had followed your head. You were becoming what destiny set you out to be.

Lets skip a few years… when she finally reached the monumental age of fourteen. It was the day when you wre finally of age to first ‘bond’ with a Pokémon which, in the village, was known as your avatar. (Bonding was a rather meant in a literary sense, the what one might call ‘starter’ Pokemon wasn’t bonded physically by any means.. it was merely a name of the first Pokémon you received and befriended, and often times, it sometimes turned out to be the only Pokémon those in the village ever had. The catch about the first Pokémon was, you had to find it yourself, and you could not catch it by ordinary means of a Pokéball, you had to meet with the Pokémon in question and it would have to, at its own will, never forced, agree to become your companion. It was usually customary to do the same with all future Pokémon, though wasn’t required. (It was usually followed)

Selene’s first companion turned out to be a Meowth she befriended at the edge of the Ilex forest. She managed to set the cat free of a trap that had been carelessly set. Selene had expected nothing in return when she came back to the village, making sure the cat’s paw injury (which was minor) was treated properly. She – who later came to be known as Lyra - was allowed to go free upon healing. She did leave, but oddly enough, she remained close around the village proximity, often following Selene around, until one day, they officially became companions, though it always had seemed they were so in the first place. She was still fourteen then.

Fourteen was also the age you officially became your own “person” then, capable of decided your own destiny, and you were allowed to leave the village if you so chose. However, Selene chose to remain under her Master, who was heavily into some Team Rocket investigation. He always told her stories, but never forced her to become, or consider becoming, a member of the infamous organization.

Selene was not naïve to the Rockets doings, but she understood. She understood the meaning of ‘right and wrong’ in the sense of a two sided coin. Each side was right in their own perspective, and as long as you thought it was the right path, it would be. You would just have to face the consequences of your actions.

Skip ahead a three years (and take into account Lyra evolving into a Persian and the capture of her Absol, Siren. And an Eevee, Danika,) She still remained at the village, trying to help her weakening master (who was beginning to show signs of decline), as well as considering what way she should take in life. He was so ill it became hard for him to do his job, and Selene took on the task of helping him accomplish his missions, though she was not affiliated with the group at the time.

During one of these missions (she was 18 and Danika had evolved into Espeon) Kendrick happened to go off on his own, saying he had to finish up some ‘unfinished business’ in a note. Selene knew Kendrick had plenty of enemies in the outside world, and rushed to his assistance, but when she got there, her Master was dead. He had been killed – though whether he was murdered, or slain in a duel or otherwise, Selene did not know. All of his Pokemon were also slain.

Selene knew she would now have to uphold her Master’s name, and keep his honor and integrity. She arrived back home, and they cremated him. In his will, he left her everything, he owned. He also left her a letter that he had written perhaps a month before he died, giving her his last, and final lesson in life.

That lesson prompted her to offer her loyalty to the Rocket’s side, as they would ‘take care of her well-being’ and indeed, they did pay well. She did this as much for her Master, deciding to fulfill whatever remained of her master’s contract. She hoped to, as well, discover who killed her Master using the Rocket’s endless resources. She also had her suspicions, as Kendrick often left coded messages in his letters.. maybe he was trying to tell her something.

She had joined Rocket only months before her Nineteenth birthday. She became an experienced member, but never showed the ambition to ascend into the higher ranks, only going to high as to be able to accecss some helpful information that would aid her in her master’s death. She had been in Rocket only a short time when she met Masa – a mercenary who had been hired for a particular mission. She was partnered with him, and due to his colder attitude then, she found herself disliking his way of taking life so wantonly [in a battle, he would have killed her Persian if he had felt like it, and were the situation being in Rocket not how it was). Still, she respected her battling skills, and she, during the rest of her mission, came to respect him, and trust him in almost every occasion.

They parted on perhaps could be said ‘somewhat agreeable’ terms, and Masa left. Selene was rather curious to where he went, but never thought she’d meet him again.

She only was in Team Rocket for another 6th months after the fateful mission with Masa, having accomplished nothing, as well as becoming a bit suspicious in her investigations. She thought she would have yielded something by now, but the lack of information made her wonder if the Team itself was responsible for Kendrick’s death.

She quit, disappearing unexpectedly, making sure there was no way to follow. If she was higher up in terms of rank, perhaps they would have more actively pursued her, but as her knowledge was more limited, she guessed that they gave her up after perhaps a month’s search – which was all well and good for her.

She took the time to venture around the various areas of the regions, training her Pokémon as best she could. It was when she was twenty-four that she ran into Masa again, along with a what he called ‘annoyance’. The sudden appearance of Masa intrigued her, as he seemed changed – much different from how he was when in Rocket. That alone sparked her curiosity - not to mention experiencing a rather.. odd event with him and a Flareon called Rem. That, too, prompted her to follow him back where she could get an explanation.

To cut things short, she managed to arrive at the compound, and meet Masa’s various Pokémon, including another human named Mega, who bore the sword Murasame. After a few trails which Masa was quite happy to subject her to, Selene came into possession of the sword of calm Muramasa.

Having received the sword, she stayed at the compound for a small time, sometimes going outside the island, sometimes not. But during that time, she trained her Pokémon at the compound – each to varying degrees, though the most was Lyra, whose passion to become stronger and better was a constant want to her.

She also learned how to wield a sword – which she somewhat knew how to before, due to her extra-curricular training in the village. She was no professional at it, but being a fast learner, she caught on, and slowly became more proficient. Many years went by – as as the events and history surrounded Masa and Mega (Whom she at least, considered friends) , and the various others at the island, she began to wonder more, though she was never out of contact of those at the Island, due to the nature of those that made themselves at home there.

During one of her she journeyed to the Chariziffic Valley, where she found her last companion, a Charizard. She gained his allegiance by a beating him in a battle (with a Pokémon, of course.. and it was Lyra, BTW). It was during the time that she won the Charizard’s allegiance that she found out via a Psychic communication, that Mega was killed by none other than of Masa himself. Selene was shocked at the aspect, as she knew the relationship between the two, also knowing of the things Masa faced to some extent. So she never blamed him for Mega’s death after she immediately returned to the compound. And during the years that passed, she always kept in the immediate vicinity of the island, if she ever went out, and she was resolved, that should it ever come a time when the Murasame was needed again, she would take it, if the sword would have her.

Legendary Blessing: Entei

Other: As stated before in the history, she can understand Pokémon very well. She also carried the sword of calm with her at the present time.

-Pokemon-
(Fill out one per pokemon brought)

Name: Lyra
Species: Persian
Gender: Female
History: Lyra is Selene’s most stalwart and powerful companion – how Selene came upon acquiring her as a Partner is explained in the history. Both Selene and Lyra share a very close relationship, and though Lyra is more ambitious and outgoing than Selene, possessing a strong will to become more powerful and constantly stronger.
Other: Lyra is an extremely fast Pokémon – faster than what would seem normal for most Pokémon, and would be faster than most Pokemon in terms of speed and agility. She’s also extremely fast and making and using attacks (even of the special variety) this is due mostly to her training at the compound with the Hitmon brothers (and with other Pokemon a time or two as she got stronger), where she was forced to learn to act quick on her feet, and use her speed to help win the battle. Because of her speed, she can use a 'fusion move' that Selene calls Shadow Strike (which has earned Lyra the nickname 'shadowcat') that combines the moves (Substitute/Double Team/Faint Attack) which requires fast execution for it to be successful.

Name: Siren
Species: Absol
Gender: Female
History: Since this is getting long, Selene came upon Siren during one of her journey’s with Kendrick, where she persuaded the Absol to join her. Siren is a very silent individual with a preference for observing. She is a good and hardy attacker, but not one of Selene’s strongest ones.
Other: Siren, as she is named, has the ability to manipulate Perish Song to various effects. Such as using it like another Pokémon would use “Sing”. She can also use it to conjure up status effects (though there is a chance she might inflict some statuses on herself, such as what the true Perish Song does – causes the Pokémon to faint in three turns)

Name: Danika
Species: Espeon
Gender: Female
History: Found as an Eevee in one of Selene’s travels abroad.. I’d go into detail, but meh.. Danika is perhaps Selene’s weakest Pokemon, though she’s still very good in manipulating her psychic abilities. She is also, perhaps, the most intelligent of Selene’s Pokemn team.
Other: Despite being weak in the attacking aspect, Danika’s psychic powrers are very developed – though less in the attacking aspect… such as she has a greater distance to telepathic communication, and she excels in stealth maneuvers due to her small size. ..and yeah.. couldn’t think of anything else at the moment.

Name: Azar
Species: Chairizard
Gender: Male
History: He became Selene’s last Pokémon after she challenged him in the Charisiffic (spelling?) valley. She won him in a one-to-one battle, and due to the terms of agreement, he agreed to become a part of her team. Despite being extremely large and rather foreboding looking, Azar has a very kind heart and demeanor, though his temper, when roused.. is something to behold.
Other: He happens to be a ‘shiny’ charizard, and, growing up in the Valley, he is much stronger/bigger/faster than normal Charizards. He also knows the move Blast Burn – as do all of the older dragons in the Valley, though he uses it only in extreme situations.

Psyched, I look forward to the revised history, the personality is already a vast improvement.

Saffire, I couldn't ask for a better sign-up... well I could, but then I'd only be a jerk. Though there are two things; first, I assume you didn't mean Murasame in your description, but more importantly, it should be noted that the compound is not on Masa's home island. Best I've been able to place it of yet is on the border of Kanto and Jhoto, behind Mt. Silver.

Ejunknown, accepted. Though, don't worry about limiting yoursself to four moves, it's not game style battling.

Now you see me...

The sun rose over the horizon, slowly creeping upward to reclaim its place once more in the heavens. Selene Caiminach watched it rise as she always did. She watched the sun set the sky ablaze with warm colors; she watched as light was shed upon the land beneath her feet; and finally, she watched the sun rise with the promise of a new day once more. No matter what happened, the sun still rose, and the sun still fell. It was a complete circle, neverending, nor did anyone know when the ritual quite began.

Selene was seated at the edge of a cliff, facing the ocean as the waves rushed to meet the beach below. The sea calmed her somehow – the sound of the water breaking upon the rocks, the sounds of the Wingull high above… despite everything that was going on around her, she could catch a few moments of peace here.

She had made her camp outside – she had done so many times before, and it never bothered her. The outside was just as much her home as any place was. Beside her, a large cat Pokémon lay curled up at her feet, ears twitching at the sound of the sea birds. Slowly, the Persian opened one eye, surveying Selene with a small degree of interest.

<You didn’t sleep last night did you?>

If Selene was tired, she didn’t show it. “It doesn’t matter, Huntress of the Stars.”

The Persian’s ears twitched, and a smirk curled onto her pristine white muzzle. <Huntress of the Stars, eh? Haven’t heard you use that title in a long time.>

“Forgive me, then… but few have tolerance for such titles, and it’s better that way.. I won’t draw so much attention in crowds anymore… we don’t have that luxury anymore, it seems.”

<You take things far too seriously.>

“Some people take matters too lightly.”

<Bah!> The Persian shook her head, standing up on her feet, stretching. <Come. I want to spare, Azar has to be somewhere around here.. he won’t spar with me unless you tell him to.> The Persian’s glance became thoughtful. <I think he just doesn’t want to lose to me again.>

“Or he just doesn’t want to inflate that ego of yours any more than it already is. Perhaps I will ask him too, later.. but I think it’s time we made a visit back to the compound.”

<Compound? Hm… maybe I could challenge the Hitmon brothers again – they’ve never turned me down before. My battle skills could use some fine-tuning.>

“Come on, then… lets find Azar, and we’ll be off.”

No Brainer; accepted.

Once Psyched finishes his history we'll begin. Things will not start at the compound; instead I would like to start things off with time for character development and getting to the compound via airship.
