Dark Gym for obvs reasons. Plus Elites that havent been used yet, especially staying clear of the Unova Elites, we've had those types sooooo many times.

I think placement is more what I'm hoping for, like Dragon and Ice and the first 2 and have a strong Rock, Normal or Bug Gym towards the end.

And please none of this all gym leaders have 3 Pokemon max crap, why did this have to become a thing?

I would like to see some gym leaders that focus on more than just a type. Themed teams and what not. Doubt it's gonna happen, but I would still enjoy it.

Alder is kind of a weird case. Half of his team is Bug just like other type themed Champions (Lance, Steven, Iris), but he doesn't really have an explicit connection to Bug type.

As long as they keep giving them actual professions aside from just being a Gym Leader, I would be fine with whatever type they give us.
Same goes for the Elite Four and the Champion.

So did Hoen in Emerald, but that's the point here. It's about Alder not being considered a Bug type specialist.

On a hypothetical dark type leader, I feel the leader should/will be at least the sixth one fought. From previous trends and higher slots giving more opportunities to showcase the type. And probably 6 like steel and fairy before it. Though 5 as i saw on a few lists, i guess is a possibility. I can't see it as lower than that. And it would be nice and give more room at the top to have higher placed types lower on the list this time.

I don't really care what they do with the gyms(though I like the ideas here of an early dragon and ice, late rock, etc.) but I like the idea of an E4 of Flying, Normal, Electric, and Grass.

If they pull a Gold/Silver I think the Gyms should go in accordance with what Gym wasn't present in X and Y. So for me it would be

Gym Leader 1: Dragon(Something different and challenging so no Starter has an advantage, Perhaps Drasna's Granddaughter?)
Gym Leader 2: Normal
Gym Leader 3: Flying
Gym Leader 4: Ground
Gym Leader 5: Poison
Gym Leader 6: Ghost
Gym Leader 7: Steel
Gym Leader 8: Fire(Pokemon Moon) or Water(Pokemon Sun) Depending on the version


Elite 4:

Dragon(Drasna Returns)
Fire(In Pokemon Sun)
Water(In Pokemon Moon)
Fairy
Electric

Personally, I'd very much like to see dual-type gyms. Now that I am no longer 10 years old, I find gym battles generally too easy, when I can defeat their entire team, mostly one hit K.O. with only a single Pokemon with the right type. So fire/water gyms or 'Pokemon with the color X' or something like that would be a welcome change.

Heh, my activity on these forums is pretty much me coming back every year or so to speculate on new games for a few weeks. Speculating on new gyms and Elite Four members is my favorite thing to do.

Balancing what I hope we'll get and what I expect based on the theme of sun and moon (Not like other games gyms were themed that heavily on the game names however) this is my list.

Gym 1: Dark
Gym 2: Fire
Gym 3: Ground
Gym 4: Psychic
Gym 5: Ghost
Gym 6: Steel
Gym 7: Water
Gym 8: Flying

I'm on the fence about if the Elite Four will return to an optional order but if not, I see them being faced in this order:

Poison
Grass
Rock
Electric

Champion: Various

I'll probably re-do this list once the region of the game is shown in more detail, then after that I'll vanish until whatever's next is announced XD

If we do get a Dark type Gym ten i hope it's not one of the early gyms. I feel like Dark Type is more fitting to the latter gyms

Knowing which real life location the region will be baded on should help with the character speculation.

I'm still salty I didn't get my wild child of France Tarzanesque grass type gym leader.

Someone brought up the E4 having stat based teams before. I think that'd be pretty cool.

First and foremost, imo, there needs to be a Dark type gym in Gen 7. There's no real reason to leave it as the only type not represented by at least one gym leader, from some region. Personally, I also want a Rock type gym leader that's later on in order we face. I kind of like the following order, Fire, Ground, Poison, Ghost, Bug, Grass, Rock, and Dark. That way Dark can get showcased finally, and it would be a fitting final gym type to face. The rest are there more strategically placed in the order that I feel could allow for more interesting dynamics then what we've seen with the types up til now, as the challenges are supposed to become harder. Let
