This is how I feel about the Dark type. I actually find it pretty annoying that a Pokémon will automatically be "evil" no matter what in terms of type. Especially when Dark types have natures like jolly, modest, gentle, and calm. Kind of contradictory.

It's not even that. At this point, 5 generations after the Dark type has been revealed, in the Anime Ash has had 3 Dark type Pokemon, and even if that type wasn't focused on a lot, it showed that type can be viewed as something other then "evil".

For gen 7, Dark type is the single most needed type to get a gym. I just the game developers/designers/story writers see that to.

I don't know why people desperately wanted to have a Dark-type gym. It creeps me out thinking a city or town hosting a gym dedicated to evil pokemon.

Mainly because it's the only one that hasn't been used yet and there really has been no reason for it other than it's "Evil" which really means nothing taking in other things.

I'm not sure how I'd react if this Gen doesn't have one. On one hand, it's been like this for a while so kind of numb to it but at the same time deep down I'll just be thinking "What are they thinking, is this an inside joke or something".

I just hope the Gyms have a nicer type coverage; using lesser types, having types being in a different spots they are normally in. I don't want a late Ice Gym for the 5th time.

Oh yeah. I totally agree. Ecruteak and Hearthome were just way too creepy. I hope they don't include a ghost gym this time around. The towns were way to spooky for me.

I'm hoping that if these seven trials we are suppose to accomplish to become a champion. They still include having a battle with some kind of trial master.

I don't think there are going to be 7 trials. Pretty sure it was just a mistake.

The video of it, from what I gather, had the hosts make questions for each other. The girl's question was "how many trails do you take to become Champion", the guy didn't know, and she said "7 duh". Considering there has been no mentioning of it thus far, it seems very unlikely for her to ask a question about something that shouldn't be known about. I doubt she was giving any insider info to sneak in some hints about what to expect either since the other questions didn't seem to be like that themselves.

So, the "trails" are probably meant to be Gyms and simply forgot it's 8 not 7.

I don't think I have posted here yet or haven't in a while, but here are my predictions on the gym leaders and elite four.
#1-Fairy Type with three pokemon.
#2- Ground Type with three pokemon.
#3- Flying Type with three pokemon.
#4- Steel Type with four pokemon.
#5- Dark Type with four pokemon.
#6- Water Type with four pokemon.
#7- Ice type with with five pokemon.
#8- Fire type with five pokemon.

Elite Four: similar to Kalos and Unove can be chosen which every way you feel
Grass, Normal, Electric, and Rock- All of these types have never been an elite four, technically we have seen rock types used but never a rock specialist and besides rock gyms have always been early game, it would be nice to see it late in the elite four.

The Champion I believe should have a diverse team, with their main pokemon being a Ghost type. Kinda random on the main pokemon, but I wanted it to be something we haven't seen yet before.

You mean when they were asked what challenges you must overcome to become champion. And they said "Island Trials"?

Sarefan

Hylden General.
Just got an idea for the E4: what if the E4 are the Elders of each Island and use the Island Guardian against you as their ace?

Well it is called the Evil type in Japan.

Solution:

Dark Type Leader (Jap): "I have always thought it was wrong to call it the Evil type. Evil type pokemon are really just about cunning; lacking the brute force of fighting types they are masters at exploiting their opponent's weaknesses. Is that not also a form of strenght?"
Dark Type Leader:"You knwo Dark types aren't that sinister at all (followed by basically the same)"

Gym wishlist:

1 Fire
2 Grass
3 Flying
4 Poison
5 Ground
6 Psychic
7 Steel
8 Rock

Elite 4
Electric
Fairy
Dark
Ghost

Let's have Rock as the 8th gym for once.

As for the discussion on whether we can have a Dark-type Gym because the Dark Type is the Evil Type in Japan, I think that's a moot point by now to be honest. If the really gave off such negative vibes I doubt that three Elite Four members would have specialized in it, especially as they are seen above the Elite Four. That and the recently voted most popular Pokemon ever and the current star of the anime protagonist's team is Greninja, a Dark type.

As for the discussions on the new leaks that say we'll actually be building the league from the ground up this time, I think it's a very real possibility, especially as GameFreak won't actually have to change that much in the formula. Gym leader and Elite Four battles would basically be against trainers who are trying out for that position. The only problem with this I see is that plot-wise, we actually have any need to defeat them, especially as they'd be seen as more powerful and suited for the job if they defeated us.

Some Elite Four Members are corrupt, leading them to use Dark(Or Evil)-types. The Gym Leaders cannot be evil or corrupt (Unless you're Giovanni) because they represent the City where they live, and as we saw in Unova, are expected to help out in times of trouble. The Elite Four are just the most powerful trainers in the region, not held to any moral code. They do as they please, seeing as there are Dark(Or Evil)-type Elite Four Members.

I just want a Grass-type Elite 4 Member or Champion...is that too much to ask for?

I highly doubt any of the any of the elite 4 members are corrupt.

And I'm pretty sure they aren't random strong trainers, but all part of the same regional organization that oversees the gyms and league.

And just because Dark types are called Evil types in japan does not mean that trainers that use these pokemon are evil, or that the pokemon themselves are immoral.

The only corrupt Elite 4 member we know of was Malva, and she didn't even use Dark-types.

And either way, the League represents the region as a whole, which is a much bigger deal than a city. None of the Dark E4 Members are actually bad, anyways.

I would love for no gym leader to have less than 3 pokemon but most likely the first and maybe even second gym leader will have 2 pokemon. I really hate that but every first gym leader has had 2 except Roxanne in emerald and Cheren in black and white 2 challenge mode >.>

If there really is no gym then I hope we get a massive gym fix post game by being able to battle past regions gym leaders with updated teams. I believe we didn't get that opportunity in xy and oras
