When looking at Ilima, the only two possibilities I can think of for her specialty are either Normal types due to her clothes, or Fairy types due to her pink hair

For the amount of times we've seen Alolan Ratticate/Gumshoos Totem pokemon, plus the low levels we've seen the player's pokemon having during the demos of fights with it, it would likely be the first totem pokemon we encounter. Both of the Totem pokemon share the normal typing, and because so far we haven't seen any Totem pokemon with different types to the captains of thier trial, Ilima is very likely a Normal-Type specialist.

Edit: We also know that the Totem fight takes place on Melemele Island, making it all the more likely. Whitney's hair was pink too, and she was a normal-type trainer.

I've kind of noticed that too, though I think the trial captains' reflect the type chart more than a rainbow since their color shemes look as if they're based on whatever type they specialize in.

I thought so too when I first saw them, but then everyone started calling them a girl. I thought that it was officially from the scans, but nowhere has actually stated anything about it. I guess everyone just started using female pronouns since a lot of other people were. I thought they looked fairly androgynous or possibly equally gender-neutral, now it could still be the case! =D

Ilima's definitely normal. Has the same colour scheme of pink/white/brown that many normal types do, as well as the school uniform looking attire. I'd prefer the ground type that was initially speculated because there's a lot of cool normal Alolan Pokemon - just not at the first gym level.

It is worth noting that Ilima's hair color is Pink/Violet, which may fall under the color scheme of the rainbow. Apart from the typings, all revealed Trial Captains' hair color fits with their typing, or rainbow color, also.

It's rather hard to tell. Ilima looks rather feminine, but more so as a man than a woman. Has the character's sex been confirmed?

I would agree that he seems like the normal leader more so than any other type. I could see ground, but I think we're all pretty sure he's normal no?

I wonder if Gumshoose will be his main pokemon?

Illmia is obviously going to be the trial where we fight Totem Gumshoos or Raticate. Figure the actual trial will be the easiest being a way to explain the Island Trial to you since it's a bit of a divergence from what we've had previously

Based on the outfit and overall body structure... I say it's a boy. Not sure what's up with the hairdo, but hey; I watch Yu-Gi-Oh!. You can't surprise me with anime hair anymore.

Akala: 4 captains,the first 4 that have been revealed before according to their badges style (4 petals flower)??
Bottom right Island: 3-5 captains. it is probably the same size as Akala or a little bit bigger
Bottom Left:1-2 captain(s).This island probably the place where legendary mascot reside?
