THE SEREBII CHAMPIONSHIP V1​



Introduction​

Welcome, to the first season of the Serebii championship. Realizing that the Serebii league section doesn't receive nearly as much activity as it should and with all the tournaments lately I decided that we needed a league, for all the big names to compete in. I wanted to avoid the cyclical motion that other leagues have, as challengers become bored with the same repetitive feel, activity begins to decrease and the tumble weeds begin to roll in. This is an attempt at being different doing something that will appeal to the people who do not usually come to the League section and igniting the competitive spirit between Serebii users. If this is a success then the Serebii Championship will remain here for seasons to come. Do not bother signing up to be a gym leader or an Elite four member. This league will not work like any other league. 9 teams will compete over 8 weeks to qualify for the play-offs.

How it will work​
Teams will consist of 3 Serebii users. Choose your teams wisely, pick members with varying time zones to avoid automatic losses. Not all 3 members will have to verse all 3 of your opposing team in regular weekly battles. Only one battlers is required to battle the other. So emphasis is placed on carefully deciding who will battle who. There will be no ties if a battle is not completed within the week. An automatic loss will be awarded to both sides unless I can be convinced that one party had avoided battling the other
Each team will battle every other team once. With one team receiving the bye every week. If I receive enough sign ups I will create a second division that will fight for promotion in season 2 while the first division will fight to stay out of the relegation zone. W/L/D are obvious, if you are wondering what K/F means it is Pokémon KO’ed – Pokémon Fainted. So if teams are equal on points at the end of the 8 rounds, this will prove the deciding factor between a play-off appearance, the minor premiership or relegation. So it isn't about beating your opponent. You need to beat them and beat them well.

Battles will be standard battles. The League and it's partakers must follow all SPPF and SPPF League rules. If anyone is in breech of these there will be consequences.

A win will earn you 2 points, a draw will earn you 1 and as in all realistic sports a loss will get you 0 points. 6-0 victories warrant a bonus point. So scoreline is even more vital. You can never take it easy, never let up.
