Congrats on the recent shinies from these ppl: Shephard, Chibi, LSA, Redo's 2 shinies, Mr. Kennedy, Lucarioman101, S_D and especially Fufu's lucky streak w/ 3 shinies, awesome. I like reading ppl's expressions when they get lucky.^^

No that the world cup is having a break, I'm not that motivated enough to hunt, I play my Ruby n Sapphire game normally mostly. Gee, I really wanted to see Ghana in the semifinal, they deserved it more.
My target for this month is to get one 1/8192 shiny and a MM shiny.
I'm looking forward for enigma stone event as well. Once I've downloaded it, I'm gonna sr like crazy and restart my game again to download another one if I get the shiny early.

So the server f*cked up (pardon my French) after I made a rather lengthy post, and it ended up not posting anything at all. So I'll give the news quite briefly. (and I swear if it fails again, I'm gonna go bat-crap insane 'cause I had a bad day and I don't need anymore crap.)

MOVING ON. So, my DS dies, I can't play for 5 days, I find my charger yesterday (yay), it was right next to my bed and I realize this after tearing my whole room apart (figuratively) and that made me angry. I'm pulling an all-night-er and a shiny Ho-oh would be a great birthday present as this occasion is next Sunday. I also pre-ordered JP Black. ^_^

I am not an exception to this. This morning I finally completed my Crown Beast Trio, thanks to a forum thread that donates free event pokémon. If anyone wants this thread, just PM me and I’ll give you the link.

Congrats to everyone on all the reccent shinies, especially Shinyfufu on the 3 shinies in a row.
I just started my first hunt for the tour, Route 29. I'm hoping for sentret to shine but I wouldn't mine pidgey either. I spent most of june trying to MM for a Hoppip and then later a Hoothoot.

I have two questions. The first question is, Is it possible that for Raikou and Entei that after you release them only one of them shinies?

And now my second question. For people who are going to preorder Pokemon Black and White from Playasia how hard is it to understand a game in Japanese? I'm asking because I'm tempted to buy it and play early but I'm not sure if it'd be too hard to understand. Thanks for all your help and hope everyone gets a lot of shiny luck soon!

Edit: Thanks for the help I decided I'm going to buy Pokemon Black off Playasia but I do have one last question (sorry about this but I'm kind of a clueless person) and I'm pretty sure this doesn't belong here but it does deal with Pokemon in a way. Does anyone know where I can find a good website to learn Kana? I want to learn so I can understand at least a little bit of my games but I don't want to learn the wrong stuff.

It's highly unlikely that they'll both be shiny at once. You'll probably have to start a new file and hunt for the other one.

For people who are going to preorder Pokemon Black and White from Playasia how hard is it to understand a game in Japanese? I'm asking because I'm tempted to buy it and play early but I'm not sure if it'd be too hard to understand.

I can't understand a word of Japanese writing, yet I still preordered Pokemon Black. I managed to make it through my Japanese HG without too much trouble... but with a completely new game, it should be interesting. I won't have a clue what I'm supposed to be doing. ^^;

If you can't read Japanese, then you'll probably have trouble figuring out what to do. But you can aways look in a guide (that's what I plan on doing anyway...)

With a Pokemon game, it's not too hard if you've played enough. I've been importing since Pokemon Diamond, and I only got stuck once or twice. Anyway, on my 4th file. No shiny yet. 1,013 SRs and 3,039 total starters so far. I really hope Cyndaquil is the one that shines.

Learning Kana isn't hard at all, just print a chart and recopy it when you're bored at school.
That's what I did and I learned them in no time at all.

I start SR for Ho-Oh, but by my luck with SR it will never Shiny. 100 SR's now.
Abra is at 525 SRs = 2625 seen. 755 Ponyta eggs hatched.

But I also got the 3 Shiny Crown Event Beasts and the Shiny Milotic Event one through this Board here. Thanks for the trades.

I have much luck with GTS too. Got 2 new Shinys, Dragonite & Leafeon.

And the last message about Shinys, we bought a used DS Diamond game which contains some Shinys, but all were cheated so bad. :-(

Actually, there was some Kanji in the screenshot with Prof. Araragi and Chiramii. But otherwise, the game is mostly Katakana and Hiragana, and battles are still in all Katakana and Hiragana. Pretty nice actually.

1,339 SRs and 4,017 starters so far, and I've actually been doing Mudkip a bit in-between, but no luck there either. I'm planning to pre-order Pokemon White since I'll be getting Black in English. I probably won't SR for a shiny starter, but I will SR for a shiny Zekrom if he looks interesting enough, maybe for a shiny Zoroark in the event. We'll just have to see when the time comes.

It's a possiblity what with it being the only region to date not on a DS game, but until there's actually some hints or whatnot on Black and White, don't you think it's jumping too far ahead to go and decide which one to buy? :/

It's about time they put kanji in Pokemon games; at least now they're trying to direct it to older players (even though young Japanese children still know at least some kanji). Some Japanese RPG games on the market have settings on their games where you can set to full hiragana, so I wouldn't be surprised if they put that option for Black and White.

Pardon my French, but this is the worst f****ng birthday I've had in my entire life, so my mood's affecting my shiny hunting and motivation. I'm still SRing, but the way I'm feeling right now, I don't give a rat's a... well I just don't care wether Ho-Oh shines or not anymore. 18,305 SRs.

I... I'm so sorry about my previous post. We went to the liquor store to pick up my "sis" (She lives with us, and she's pretty much like a sister to me) as I was feeling a bit down being at home, and I brought my DS Lite with me to SR on the way to and from...

On the way back home, as bright as day itself, I see its shadow against the black background and nearly jump outta my seat. I screamed and closed my DS so quickly it wasn't even halfway across the screen, then a few seconds later turned the volume way up and blasted its initial sparkle to the both of us.

I.. I can't believe it. Why do all my SR shinies appear on my black DS Lite? Call it superstitious or whatever you like, but that DS of mine is mighty lucky. I'm over the moon about my dream shiny, my hardest ever worked-for SR shiny, appearing on the night of my birthday. :'D 18,345 SRs he took.

I Masterballed him eventually. I knew I probably would have had to, considering I wasn't very prepared otherwise. Damn, now I can finally carry on playing through HeartGold! I'll update this post, or post a new one (depending on if there are more posts after this) with more photos, stats, and the video I made.

Route 32 finally gives me a shiny, yaysa!

Approximately 5,568 REs on this & that version, a shiny wooper finally showed up on my US HG.
Again, this isn't my main hunt, I use a static pokemon so I can get a higher chance to see more Mareep. But I want this one too, of course.^^

I wanted to catch it in love ball (I remember LSA's wooper), but all my team are female too, except one & it kept breaking out of the ball (I didn't have a lower level pokemon to damage it).
I caught it w/ pokeball after putting it to sleep w/ Noctowl.
It would be very cute if I caught this pinkey in a pink ball.^^

It has the water absorb ability but I ain't gonna evolve this cutie.

I think this should be the no cheating device pic, lol.
It's kinda difficult to take the whole pic & the shiny form w/ the DSi camera quality, but hey.
Anyway, how do you guys like my new DS? It's a red-black DS Korean version (a bit smaller apparently) I bought off from my cousin (he doesn't use it much since he's more into PSP - Sony man).
It's still relatively new, so I'm lucky (I begged him to sell it).^^

For my other current hunts, well, basically I'm doing some RE targets so I don't feel bored.
I usually do like 300 RE's for each every day if I have time.
Now that I have another extra DS, I can use it mainly for MM hunt w/out switching it off for other hunt.

Welcome, Alligates! Have you got any shiny targets beyond a new Buizel?

I never really told anyone that I was hunting in this place because I didn't want people copying me and getting the very shiny I wanted to get first.

I'm at around 30 hours of resetting for Kyogre while playing SS, plus a few more while vending on Subeta. I literally just finished my training on SS and beat Red. I checked my defeated Pokemon total before and I was at 3981. That's 2139 defeated during that leveling spree, and 1855 since my Ponyta encounter. I'm now going to go off legend catching on SS and continue my Kyogre resets.

I'm looking forward to the Enigma Crystal event, I'll definitely be resetting for Latias and maybe Latios (though I may need to get another Master Ball from somewhere). If Kyogre hasn't shone before the event starts, I'll go straight to Latias, if it does, I think I'll keep on track with my original plan and reset for Suicune on SS.

Congrats on all the new shinies (especially Fufu's three and LSA's Ho-oh!), welcome to new members and good luck on the hunts.

Hmm I appreciate the couple people or so that wished me a happy birthday, but alas..

Twas' not happy at all. My original Ruby finally succumbed to fate and after 7 years of ownership and 8 shinies that it gave me, its internal battery dried up. I'm not too sure about how it affects things, besides berry growth and Shoal Cave. I remember hearing that I can't SR on it anymore but is it still good for random encounters? I may be able to replace the battery myself, but I don't really feel like risking it. It is much too sentimental. The thins left on it Srable were beldum and Kecleon so not much loss if I can't SR, but I would still like to RE on it

Sigh I see people are imploding with luck. Goddamn Fufu, 3 in 2 days? that's some killer luck, as in killing the hopes of all. I am depressed, as it takes me a month or more to get one shiny. I've also been SRing my SS for a starter which is supposed to be slightly easyish but the squat, birthday or not, fate has damned me.

Alright I feel like stirring up a beehive, and being a wad. eheheh the following I've only discussed with master Fufu, and I should've called it as soon as it was posted.

Yo Cutty Flam. a while ago you posted that you caught shiny Drifloon and had to MB it because you were too early in the game and you had ONE badge.

I being the master of phantoms, and having hunted Drifloon as my very first D/P target. know for a fact that Drifloon does not appear at valley windworks when you only have one badge. You must beat Gardenia and get her badge in order for drifloon to appear...

Happy late birthday DS, I'm sorry to hear about your Ruby version. As for your luck. I stand exactly where you are. I can't comprehend how people come back every few days and post about an incredible shiny (usually one that I'm hunting for or plan on hunting soon) that they found in less than 6,000 resets. I can't even begin to fathom why in God's name why it's usually the same people, why can't it be us? We work just as hard, if not harder than everyone else. We do just as many soft resets even more resests than most everyone.

It's just not fair, and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it sadly, besides soft reset, which doesn't seem to help at all.

I've been quad-resetting as usual, and to no avail. Ho-oh: 6,000 resets, Rotom 1: 57,000 resets, Rotom 2: 6,000 resets, Secret: 600, Horsea: 2,000.

WHERE IS MY GODAMN SHINY??!!

Marching band has officially started for me, and our crazy schedule starts next week, which means that my shiny hunting will be slowing down to a near halt.

Looks like I won't be getting another shiny before I'm forced to stop, just as usual...

thankfully i got back into hunting recently again and i'm now at 10,500 re's for my BCC shiny.

this is so annoying, it's the 4th time in a row i got my hunt to 10k so frustrating
