The size of pokemon towns/cities

Jetx

hooray, it's Jetx!
That's the problem with the games, you see their real size on the anime...

I've always what those people in the towns actually are doing. Especially in Pallet Town where there are 3 people just wandering...Odd...

hooray, it's Jetx!
If pokemon had day and night again people wouldn't do that for the whole day. Learn from the anime...

Nothing to be done
It's just to make them more practical/easy to traverse. If they were actual size, it would take forever to get around, everything would be obscured by rows of buildings, you could get lost wandering aimlessly through streets, etc. etc. I'm glad they're so small.

Yes, Cipher is right! An other thing is that if they made them huge, it would take a long time to make them and it would take a lot of space in the game, so it would not be on gameboy.

I was always a bit dissettled about their size as well, yet at the same time I'm fascinated you can do so much in such a small area. I would expect that people get angry at larger cities unless they have a proportional amount of features as the smaller cities. Otherwise, people would merely be wandering about in these incredibly large, boring cities.

However, I would not be opposed to seeing a few metropolises in the new region with events galore (perhaps a parade every so often?), but only after you acquire the Fly TM. It would add a touch of flavor to the game and make it seem less rural.

That is annoying and also when you use fly you cant see the stuff that you are flying above. You just automatically go to the next city, town or place.

Yes, but how does that pertain to the topic, m'dear? :)

Anyways, I don't have a problem with the size. I mean, we ARE talking about a handheld game here. I'm sure that in D/P, the cities will be noticably larger. Heck, even in the ones we have now, there's PLENTY to see and do.

I always though they were some kinda small representations of the actual towns. o_0; I always thought they were this way only to give you an idea about the actual town/city/village/whatever.

The size of the cities never bothered me much. It should, because I get soooo uptight about the smallest things, but it doesn't. The cities are quite cute ^_^

having huge cities in the game boy games would be a big no, no

Like other people said before me, you could get lost and if they were any bigger you would't be playing it on a gameboy cartridge but on a cd or something

Ditto Breeder ._.;
I also like the cities with houses that dont have doors ^.^. It was also funny in the original games how you couldnt walk behind a tall building, you could only walk over the roof.

Final Flash

I've still got it.

Actually,IMO, It should be like that. On a Gamecube,or PS2 It would be easier to make it(Even though it will never come on ps2.) But even on colloseum there small! Well, there could be difficultys for citys like big citys, medium citys, regular citys.

Okay, that annoys me. You put Dark Venusaur at the end of your posts? Why the hell would you do that? Do you think after the 1-2 lines of text that we might forget who was posting?

Anyways, the towns are small because I doubt the creators want tons of useless houses full of useless people that give out useless information. It's supposed to be an RPG, I have seen no RPG's that are actually close to real-life.

Even so, you can still count the buildings in saffron in your fingers (well, a lot of fingers.) It's probably less than 50. And most of them don't have doors.

You see... most of you guys are saying that you will get lost. You think Nintendo will be this stupid to make every city a maze lol! They will be bigger not crammed together! They will be greatly designed like every other city in pokemon games.

I do think they will all get bigger in D/P but not confusing. Theres probably going to be rivers, canals, small huts, benches etc etc in these other cities. Now people who disagree are going to say it's a waste of memory! Maybe you can get items under a bench. Or the canal leads to some other routes. Many possibilities here. I don't think Nintendo are going to miss out.

You spelt pretty so wrong. But who cares. Saffron isn't paticurlaly big. It's about the size of phenac I think. Yeah colosseum towns/cities are still small. Larger but still small. It would make it easier to traverse with 'em small. But it would be cool having a game where you could travel the whole really big city.
