I admit I'm probably going to come up a bit dry on members, but it seems like a good idea, so I'll go for it.

This, as the title may suggest, is a club for fans of 70's Swedish pop band Abba. PsiUmbreon generously answered a PM from me to approve this. Now, the ground rules:

1. No bashing of Abba or anything related to them belongs here. Wanna bash? Make an anti-Abba thread or something...just don't complain if it gets locked.

2. I own this club. If a member does not follow the rules, they will be personally asked, by me, to resign their membership voluntarily and leave the thread. If they do not cooperate, I will not hesitate to fire off a report PM to a mod. You will find I am quite tolerant, but do not test my patience.

3. Since I own this club, I have the right to name co-owners who can administrate it in my absence. This will only be done for someone I purely trust.

What Abba song is your favorite? Try to pick something other than Dancing Queen, if you can.

I myself am split between two minor, oddly addictive songs of theirs: "Angeleyes" (off 1979's Voulez-Vous album) and "Super Trouper" (from the 1980 album of the same name)

Well my favorite song by ABBA is Super Trouper and The winner takes it all! I didn't know someone would make a thread like this I really like ABBA.

I love "Winner Takes It All" as well. Remember Laura Branigan (1982's "Gloria"?) When she died in 2004 she was working on a comeback album that featured a "Winner Takes It All" remake. Nothing will ever live up to the original, but it is a shame it never came to be.....

Ever heard "Summer Night City?" That's another good one, albeit quite rare....it sounds very different than your typical Abba song, that's for sure.

No I haven't. Is it rare? I bet if I listened to it I wouldn't reconize it.

It is fairly rare. I only have it by way of an old Greatest Hits cassette I found from 1980 (sadly, it does not have Super Trouper....but it does have Dancing Queen, Take A Chance On Me, Angeleyes and other good ones)
