The Substitute Doll a Baby Kanghaskan?

Goldyoshi

I > You
Well, I was looking at it for a while, and I saw that it looked like a possible baby Kanghaskan: The spikes on the back, the hands, the shape, the tail, the color....maybe it's an original idea for the Baby Kanghaskan, but then they scrapped it? It seems rather similar to Khanga...it looks nothing like the baby in the pouch, though. It seems remotely similar to the Nidos as well (or I'm crazy).

If you need a picture...

Thanks to PE2K for the Khanga sprite.
Thanks to new001 for the ripped sprite of the Sub.

I looks more to me like a Totodile. That was the impression I got the first time I used it (I still do).

Mareep!
Like Evanji Axu, I always thought it looked like a Rhydon. If you look at the Stadium 1 and 2 Substitutes (and maybe even Colo/XD), it has the horn and the armor and everything.

They tryed to get a use out of baby Kangaskhan

I read somewhere that it is indeed supposed to resemble Rhydon. This may or may not have to do with the fact that Rhydon was the first Pokemon.

I also would like to see a prevolution for Kanga in D/P.

Dark-Legend

Awesome.
I always thought that it looked plainly like the sprite they used for the beast like pokemon, or maybe it's just a simple drawing they did in their spare time, because the substitute lacks Characteristics (whoooo, big word) of a baby Kanghaskan or any real pokemon that could be declared for D/P (Though I wouldn't be surprised, knowing that they made a pink blob a pokemon).
That's my two cents.

I always thought it looked like a baby Kanga. Strange, since I don't see any resemblance to Rhydon. o_O But that's me. I'm weird. :p

I did not drink anything. And it's spelled drank for the case you're using. :p It looks a little bit like the Baby Khangaskan. Other people see it as well.

I always thought it looked like the Nidos as bit for some bizarre reason...meh. I think the Stadium Substituite Doll is different from this one...I'm pretty sure it has a horn, which is why it looks a bit like Rhydon...

I'm not english, no further details about that...

Substitute doll, DOESN't look like a poké...

And since you said it looks like Nidos AND Kangaskhan and those don't look like each other
So I guess you drank

The Nidos are actually fairly close looking to Kanga and Rhydon. It looks like Rhydon to me - I'm surprised it's not a Pika actually. It should just be just a smaller version of the Pokemon using it IMO.

N00b in the dungeon!
To me, it looks like a Totodile from behind and a Larvitar from the front.

I thought people knew there was a link!

M' evolved into Kangaskan or Rhydon and in the 3D games it looked like a subsititute.

See the link yet?

The other link. In Pokemon Stadium 1, when a Kangaskan used substitute, it would take the baby out of its pouch a leave it alone until the substitute broke. The adult would disappear. Other Pokemon would have a fake substitute but it would still look remotely like a baby Kangaskhan. They did take this out of future 3D games though. Ive never known why.

I really thought someone else would have mentioned this...

Maybe they took it out because they thought people might complain about how the game is trying to teach that leaving your children unattended is okay. :p

Yeah...see, I just had a thought: Originally, the substitute might have been Missingno...I mean, it could be a 'substitute' for missing Pokemon. Missingno evolves into Rhydon, after all, so if one captured a 'Substitute missingno', and evolved it to Rhydon, it would make sense because they seem similar...right? And in Stadium, when you trade Missingno, it's the doll. Perhaps unused data because it was originally going to be the Substitute doll?

Make It Sinful
It looks like a Cubone without the Skull thing on its head...
Not much to say here... they both have the Spikes on the back...
The fang in the mouth... and the little annoying fact that they both cry at all times...
