when everyone in my school liked pokemon... when it was a fad....
these days, us pokemon lovers are persecuted. being a pokemon lover is a scar on your reputation...
the only way i could try to relive those days were to join these forums...

Going to school....sneaking my GBC with yellow in it. Playing it every single recess...getting a pokemon stamp confiscated....>.< good ol days of Kindergarden to G3 with nothing but pokemon....

The music in R/B/Y reminds me of the good old days.

My terrible Yellow movesets also used to before my game was deleted.

Every time somebody mentions Japan or anything to do with Japan it reminds me of the good old days. I won a trip to Japan back in the good old days of RBY, where I got to see Mewtwo Strikes Back before it came out in England, came third in a Pokemon Stadium tournament against real live Japanese kids, the two above me were both Japanese, so I was the best English person there. What else? Oh yeah, I got a Mew downloaded and met an ace Irish guy called Rory, last one's nothing to do with Pokemon, but I whupped his *** every time I battled him. And they already had GSC over there because I remember buying some plushies that included Marill, Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Elekid. Anyway that's what reminds me of the good old days.

Things that remind me of the "good ol' days" is when I see a kid playing with a Pokemon something. Other than that, any mention of Missingno reminds me of RBY and then the "good ol' days" come rushing back.

Whenever I really want to feel nostalgic, I'll pop in some of the 1st and 2nd season Pokemon (Kanto and some Orange Island) and just veg out for awhile.
Reminds me of the day where Pokemon was new and just full of so much potential.

Pokemon Silver is what I need to get back that nostalgic feeling. But I just can't seem to get into playing it. The graphics and mechanics just put me off, but I know if I play it for a while i'll be able to get past that. But alas, I am not strong enough. :(

It sure would be great to be a kid again :(. I guess what brings back the memories most in me would probably be... well probably these forums actually. I kind of almost forgot about Pokemon until stumbling across this site a few years back. My first impressions of the site were "n00b fansite" and such lol, couple days later I'm browsing the forums and having a great time, so much for my first impressions :/. But yeah somehow visits to the site always seem to bring back the memories for me. After all, other than Sonic and Zelda, Pokemon for me was one of THE games I grew up with. It means alot to me.

It's said that a person's olfactory abilites are the strongest ties to memory...but I say screw that, it's sound that's stronger than smell. Thus, there's a number of songs that are forever tied to my "Pokémon" memories - however, they're all from the forgettable age in music known as the 1998-2001 period, in which my fandom was the strongest.

The only redeeming group of songs I can think of is the track list of Santana's "Supernatural" album. See, during Christmas 1999, my dad recieved the audio-cassette version of the above album, while I recieved a Game Boy Color and "Pokémon Blue" (my sister got her own GBC and "Pokémon Red"). The next few weeks were spent going to New Year's parties and the like, and every time we drove to and from our destinations, it was invariably nighttime. So my strongest and most pleasant "Pokémon" memories center around my 13-year-old self sitting in the front seat of my dad's darkened car, playing "Blue" by the glow of my Worm Light, while the "Supernatural" album drifts from the speakers.

Good times, good times...

.
I know EXACTLY what you mean. Robbie William's "Rock DJ" song reminds me of messing around with my Missingo back in Blue.

Whenever I see anything on the 'net about the old games (1st and second generation) and whenever I play the 1st or 2nd generation games.

Also, the store where I used to buy my booster packs for the TGC still has that same old smell which takes me back. I'm tempted to buy a couple of packs next time I'm in there for prosperity. They still sell the old ones really cheap - can't seem to shift 'em.

I've got it soo good right now. My friend Lorna is still a fan of Pokeshipping (in her own wierd way) and that reminds me of our game we had where we all pretended to be characters from the Pokemon Anime. (I was usually Misty or Pikachu XD)
Anyway, onto the topic...

Whenever I play Pokemon Silver, Snap or Stadium. I only got my N64 last year, but my friend Shona had one when we were 6, and I still remember shouting strategies at Shona to help her try and take a piccy of Mew.
Or whenever I look at my OLD Porygon card. When I was 10, me, Lorna and our mate Amy would sneak our cards into school (they were banned) and trade behind the hedge that separated the infant playground from ours. We never got caught, which was almost impossible with that b!tch Mrs Miller patrolling the grounds.
Ah, the memories......
