I own two of the dogs, Raikou and Suicune (restarted twice) I have beaten the league and Entei is next. Problem is, I can't find the damn thing. For the first ones, I wnet to Cerulean City where there are those ledges and the poke day care and bike up the road and back and the dog may be there, or not. I did this for Raikou too, but this time, it doesn't seem to work. I have gotten the National Dex but I haven't completed the Ruby sapphire thing (so I can trade with R/S/E) is this why this age-old trick won't work? Or if it is just bad Luck, can anyone suggest another better method?

buy lots of repels,super repels,or max
repels..and have a level 50 in the lead and go into the grass(whilst the repel effects are on)that's what i did to get all three of them..

I've also noticed that they dont appear untill you finish the Ruby/Sapphire sidequest. I had traded all 3 over from Fire Red to get the data fom them in LG, but the aditional Suicune never appeared untill after i gave Cellio the Ruby and Sapphire.

Don't worry, it'll show up eventually. I should know, I waited six d*mn months for my Suicine to show up on LeafGreen before it finally appeared. Hopefully you'll find yours much sooner than I did.

Stay in one area (I chose north of Vermillion, south of Saffron), use a repel, and search. If you find nothing, leave the route and return. Do the same until you find it.

Since this is one of the roaring dogs (entei & raikou), be prepared to save the game when you are in same area. I first used a zangoose to false swipe it to 1 HP, then later going a smeargle with mean look & spore and holding leftovers and made it go to sleep as much as possible while recovering slowly from any hits. also bring tons of ultra balls & timer balls as these dogs can be impossible to catch at times and once they roar, I don't know what happens as they don't appear anywhere anymore and I always reset to before I saved. Good thing about pokemon colosseum is I get all the dogs from there, then traded them in so I can find their area easier. Suicune is more desireable and at least cannot roar.

Using the old fashioned yet classic Repel trick is probably the best and most efficient method for catching the three dogs. I caught mine right after returning from victory on Seven Island. I found it on the route to the left of Saffron City and to the right of Celadon City. My dog was Raikou, the other two I imported from Colusseum.

Ok, thanks guys. I have the MasterBall so its all good. Plus I completed the Side Quest so now I'm definitely gonna nab it. I'll try outside vermillion. Entei sucks. (IMO and I'm only catching it to complete the collection of 3dogs). Raikou sucks too. I only like Suicune, too bad I didn't know about EVS then, absolutely crap because of that. So I go to Vermillion City, Go up, Look, come down to Vermillion and go back up? (repeat until catch)?

I had the same problem with entei a while back,but the method I use is to get a lv.45-49 pokemon and put it at the top of your party,if you use repels then it will obviously appear,as there is no pokemon higher than 45 wild in the available areas.If you don't use a repel however and run around in the grass,when you run into it,before the batlle starts the screen will go white instead of black and that is sure to be it,this is because if a wild pokemon is higher than the 1st pokemon in your party the screen if different before battle.
Good places to look for it.

right of vermillion
above vermillion
right of celadon
right of fuschia
below cerulean
above cerulean

I would have normally sayed the routes but I ain't playing it right nw and I can't be bothered turning it on just for that.

man ive been trying to catch suicune for so long now..........i need to finish the ruby/sapphire quest or what? cause i barely started it.

I caught Entei, I was so dissapointed, not its ability but because of its IVs.

I also think that you, kidumbreon, should finish the quest, because I finished it and caught it really soon afterwards.

-My philosophy is also better than yours (my sig)

What I did was what mantinegod suggested but without repel.

I found my Suicune near Viridian City (heading to E4)...I was training a little pokemon when it showed up. So what i say is try somewhere near the beginning of the game cause my friend found Entei near Pallet Town. Also try not to worry about it...train someone and it should show unexpectedly.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but in the 3rd generations don't the running legendary pokemon usually have terrible IVs? I'm pretty sure it's programmed like that...

I got my entei (yes, I caught it) and it has 4 stats with 0 IV, can everyone just list theirs out too and we'll see if your theory is true. My suicune has bad evs too 6-7 for all and Raikou has average (10+)

whoa I just went into the area to the right of vermillion used super repel with just caught zapdos in my team and behold suicune appeared I used Master Ball and Bam !!! I got it.
