The type that will benefit the most from the new attack system change will be:

[The Flat World]

DARK POKEMON.

Crunch mightyena
Crunch absol
Crunch tyranitar (although it worked already, it'll become even better)
Faint attack sneasel
Crunch crawdaunt
Crunch sharpedo
Faint attack shiftry

The change will make thse pokemon much better than before, I'm guessing.

But tough luck for houndoom though.

Yes, Dark Pokemon. Yes, Tyranitar, a Pokemon that was already good. And also all the physical Dragon types with Dragon Claw.

If Quake and RS are Special, Fighters are screwed, they have the elemental Punches though now...

Gengar and Shadow Ball also comes to mind. Crunch on Houndoom wouldnt be too bad considering STAB. Houndoom has a base attk of 90. Besides most Psychics have piddle defense

Here's a novel idea: give Dark types good Special Attacks! Make better Dark type attacks!

Seriously, while it may help the Dark types, it's going to spell much more trouble for a bunch of other Pokemon. It is seriously not worth the effort to ameliorate the situation for some Pokemon while many others get the short end of the stick. What improvement they realize is ultimately reduced to smithereens when it comes to looking at how much the metagame will be constrained: the OU class is, more likely than not, going to be far more limited now should these plans take shape.

Just one thing: Don't forget new moves, abilties and Pokemon. That could create some sort of balance IMO, and we still don't know which moves will be physical and which are special, we can only guess.

sceptile, my favorite grass is screwed = GG (nintendo should seriously consider an overhaul of sceptile's stats or movepool)

blaze kick blaziken will be popular now i guess

EDIT: there's no reason rock slide or earthquake should be special moves. trust me, they'll stay physical because.... they're physical.

I think gamefreak has been trying to make fighting pokemon popular forever now.

They gave them the most advantages. (normal, rock, dark and steel). Then they get all these useful attacks. I think its because all psychics laughed at them in first gen. (I still think they laugh at them in every gen >_<)
