The Ultimate Starter Moves QUESTION

Nagasaki

Fire-Pokemon Trainer
Hi...

We all know that FRENZY PLANT, BLAST BURN, and HYDRO CANNON are the Ultimate moves for Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen... But questions are still making trouble off me about this...

1. What are the real requirements on getting them?
2. If an ultimate move is already tutored, can the rest of the ultimates moves still be obtained? (For example, if Charizard already was tutored Blast Burn, can you still obtain Hydro Cannon or Frenzy Plant?)

I bet your answers can help everyone who are confused about this...

PS. Let's exclude cheating devices from the options... And trading...

~Nagasaki, the Fire Pokemon Master...
OF COURSE, IT's a JOKE! Don't get trolled. ;257;

What i believe is that you have to beat the elite four( not sure if both times or at all to that matter ) and your starter needs to be its final evolution so that the ultimate move can be got. Also the pokemon ( venasaur, blastoise , charizard ) needs to be in the first slot of your pokemon party. If it is not then you will NOT be given the move.

Also after one move has been taught you can't get the others to my knowledge but that might just be you cant get the same move more than once

hope this helps

Thats how you get it, but in future games, its more about your friendship relation with that Pokemon.

According to some research I did, to get those ultimate moves, you have to:

- Finish the game once (Beat the Pokemon League).
- Have your Bulbasaur/Charmander/Squirtle evolved to it's final form.
- Have your Venusaur's/Charizard's/Blastoise's happiness raised to very high levels (200-MAX).
- No other Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise had learned the move from her.

But questions still remain. How if:
- You have a Charizard who was tutored Blast Burn by her, and you have a Venusaur (Traded Bulbasaur) and Blastoise (Traded Squirtle). Can the traded, or their children (if they are bred) able to learn their moves, even though Charizard claimed Blast Burn?

IF YES:
- You can have the three moves without trading.
- A Venusaur, Charizard, or Blastoise can learn it as long as they have you registered as their OT.

IF NO:
- Only your starter can learn this move from the move tutor at Cape Brink, and ONLY your starter.
- To obtain all three ultimate moves, you must have three games of either FireRed or LeafGreen.

SO, What are the exact requirements?

4/5 of the way down this page it says that you only get one of the moves period. According to the 3rd Gen Pokedex it doesn't look like any of the 3rd Gen starters from any region can learn the moves through breeding.

I think you can actually get the moves tutored before the E4 though. I kinda remember using Frenzy Plant against Bruno way back when. You might also like to know that in XD you can get Totodile/Chikorita/Cyndaquil with the elemental Hyper Beams by beating Mt. Battle.

To finalize the statements...

Hello. I just played Pokemon FireRed. The Ultimate moves can be learned in just one game!

REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a Venusaur, Charizard, or Blastoise, obtained by any means, with MAX happiness (255). To know if they had MAX happiness, place either Blastoise, Chaizard or Venusaur to your party's 1st slot, then talk to Daisy in Pallet Town. If Daisy says this:
It couldn't possibly love you any more than it does now. Your POKeMON is happy beyond words.
Then your POKeMON has MAX Happiness!
-No other POKeMON had learned the moves from the move tutor before, as she can only tutor the move once! (Example: If a Charizard had claimed Blast Burn from her before, no other Charizard can learn the move anymore, unless that Charizard is traded to a FR/LG game that haven't claimed the move yet.)

That's it! All you need is to put either Venusaur, Charizard or Blastoise on 1st slot, go to Cape Brink on Two Island, and the move tutor will give you the moves. Case closed.

Follow-up...

What I meant before about breeding is... You will breed a POKeMON to have a copy of that POKeMON named to you as OT. But since even outsiders can learn the move, even though they were named to another trainer, disregard it.

And as for POKeMON XD, I am finding of a way on how to get POKeMON from a GBA Emulator to a GameCube Emulator (if there is).

...YES, I am working on the game with an Emulator, but I play fair and square... All of it were really trades from another save game data. In fact, I don't have this: ;251;;385;

^ This. Even 150 damage is crap when you're vulnerable for a turn afterwards.

^But think of the "Like a Boss moment" when you take something down with an Elemental Beam.
lol. I don't like Hyper Beam or its elemental versions either but this is funny. I'm sure people have their reasons for getting the moves anyways so this isn't totally pointless.

How much attack do the super ultra mega ownage moves on LGFR have? Do they have 150 as well or less than that or more ??? I ditched my starter at lv 20 odd like in most of my pokemon games so i cant find out without training up to the final evolution of blastoise which isnt that great. training up my aerodactyls is much more fun XD

That's when you will use STRATEGY... If the 150 power of the ultimate grass, fire and water moves is still not faint-giving, and you are going to recharge, better use it when your enemy's HP is 75% or below to knock it down, then change POKeMON.
I thought the game didn't let you switch out after using Hyper Beam or its variants?

They're the same as Hyper Beam except for the move type.

The game lets you change Pokemon if you finished them with Hyper Beam or the three strongest element moves.

The game will still think that the Pokemon who used the move that he must recharge if that Pokemon wasn't removed from the field during a trainer battle. But in link battles, you cannot change Pokemon if you defeated a Pokemon of the enemy.

As an FYI, you don't have to complete the game to get them. If your Pokemon is at max friendliness, and at its final evolution, it's eligible. I'm before the E4, and taught my Charizard Blast Burn.

My Charizard has Blast Burn and i only use it when it will let the foe's last Pokémon faint cause else you can better use Flamethrower or Fire Blast.
