I happen to live in New York City!
As a New YorkerI have no complains or offense on the game's imitation it. In fact, I think they did a decent job on it.

Must be, since my birthday isn't for another several months.
The dog is gone from Route 15, too.
They're actually really pretty, now that I can see them clearly.
Having played Pokemon since the early days - back in 1998 - I've grown up with the series like everyone else.
The Issui region might just be my favorite yet. I haven't fully explored it yet, but I love what I see. Everything just feels fresh and new. My problem with Sinnoh was the fact that I felt bored with most of the innovations and the towns and cities just felt sub-par after a while. I can't say that I hate every aspect about Sinnoh, but it is my least favorite region.
Johto has always been my favorite. Gold and Silver were as good as Pokemon got for years. The cities were creative. I feel that same energy in Unova. Crestalia City is mindblowing. Icirus City is so lovely and serene. The townsfolk NPC's are smarter. I the rain, swampy areas and seasonal cycles are really creative and nice eyecandy.
I also noticed the fog in my game as well. I wonder what happened to it?
Has the fog's origin been confirmed? I would assume its just random in the Autumn and other seasons like the rain.
My only complaint is that there's a couple of houses that have an "upstairs" access to them. I would have liked to go up there. Even if there would be no point to it. Just to able to go there for the sake of going there.'Cuz it's a post-game location, meaning no Gym or key tasks to your quest or anything, and because all the people are scared of Kyurem and hide in their houses at night.
in the guide book it says that it will go away for your birth day
I mainly dislike some of the comments I've seen about Unova being New York. They border on chauvinism and that's kinda bad. That's my only gripe about the whole Unova/New York issue. But it's pretty common for Americans to be chauvinistic anyway.
