i mentioned in my previous post that all of ash's pokemon (except grotle and gliscor) know a completely attack based movepool. even though grotle and gliscor know only one defensive type attack. synthesis and sand-attack. ash really needs to work on his defense insted of an all out attack. some attacks could include:

pikachu - light screen, protect, endure
staraptor - roost, double team, foresight
grotle - leech seed, giga drain, sand tomb
monferno - taunt, focus energy, counter
buizel - agility, bulk up, rain dance
gliscor - harden, swords dance, baton pass

i could see some cool combinations here such as with grotle, a sand tomb then synthesis combination. or monferno, taunt and then counter. or finally gliscor, swords dance and then baton pass. we have all seen it in competitive battling in the games, but i think it would be cool to see it in the anime.

I personally think that, to beat Honchcrow, Grotle should take a leaf (no pun intended) out of Paul's Torterras book and learn stone edge.
Think about how easily Staraptor was taken down with it, would surely give Grotle that extra edge (still no pun intended) against Honchcrow.

Or...maybe Grotle should learn Leaf Storm, it would make sense seen as Grotle has known Razor Leaf since day one and would be really useful to storm Pauls team (ok, that was on purpose).

Some new ideas, I think could be useful:

Ash's Grotle:Sunny Day, Safeguard, Absorb, Withdraw
Ash's Buizel:Agility, Water Sport, Rain Dance, Ice Beam, Ice Punch, Iron Tail, Swift, Aqua Tail

Grei

not the color
I'd like for Pikachu to learn Zap Cannon, but I doubt it'll learn that. :/

For Buizel, I wouldn't mind Aqua Tail.

And Flare Blitz for Monferno!

Son of a Beach
Pikachu-Feint, Endeavor
Staraptor-Twister, Air Cutter
Grotle-Superpower, Leaf Storm (By the way, it can't learn Stone Edge)
Monferno/Infernape-Iron Tail, Flare Blitz, Blast Burn
Buizel-Focus Punch, Ice Punch, Razor Wind
Gliscor-Aqua Tail, Night Slash

Torterra-Wood Hammer, Seed Bomb
Electabuzz/Electivire-Iron Tail, Giga Impact, Cross Chop
Honchkrow-Drill Peck, Psycho Shift
Weavile-Shadow Claw, Shadow Ball, Ice Punch
Magmortar-Fire Punch, Psychic, Solarbeam
Ursaring-Endure
Gliscor-Ice Fang, Poison Jab

Ok lets be honest, DP 131 and 132 show that Ash's pokemon are not up to the job of taking down Paul's strategies. He's got to upgrade.

Pikachu: Feint.
Staraptor: Twister (needs a ranged attack, flying into Blizzards is not smart).
Grotle: Earth Power.

Buizel: Evolve >> Water Pulse, Aqua Jet, Razor Wind, Bulk Up, Ice Punch.

Yeah, Stealth Rock for Gliscor is good.
I hope they don't make Pikachu learn Feint!
What's the point? Almost nobody uses Protect/Feint!
Electabuzz used Reflect/Light Screen, so use Brick Break!

True, SR would be cool. Feint is because Paul spams protect. As a side note, Gary has been known to use it as well, could be useful.

Didn't Electabuzz use Reflect/Light Screen last episode?
Grotle had trouble getting a hit on Honchkrow, and Brick Break happens to smash those!
If Paul did the same tactic, he might be surprised!
And Feint just gives little damage!
BrickBreak is better!
