The Wii or the PS3/PS2

I want the PS3, but I heard its backwards compatibility has glitches.

The biggest reason I want the PS3 is Kingdom Hearts and Sonic the Hedgehog. I heard the Wii version stinks.

I also really want SSBB and Pokemon Battle Revolution.
Its mostly a battle between Kingdom Hearts and Pokemon.
If the PS3 doesn't work so well with KH then I will get the PS2.

The point is should I get the Wii or the PS2/PS3?

Dude just to let you know you haven't even played the goddamn game, fanboy. Which both of them haven't even come out yet.. You're probably just going on a biased mods opinion of a demo. PS3 anyway. PS3 is safe, with a Wii you're probably not going to be satisfied swinging your arms in the air like an idiot. And this is probably not the place to get an opinion.

You're in Nintendo fanboy heaven.. The standard answer if this becomes a multi-page thread and our good friend Latios doesn't delete it: "Wii. PS3 is way too expensive and is offering nothing new, even if Nintendo released a console like the 360 and PS3 we'd get it anyway. 360 is just about shooters, even though most of the games are diversifying. Wii>all!"

The Wii offers more games and more ways to play them. As for the two Sonic games, this topic isn't about which is better, both'll be good...

EDIT: Liking one game better doesn't mean you are a freakin fanboy. You can easily make decisions on which is better before they are released due to so much information and videos. So when people call other fanboys, it's usually because they are the fanboys, not being able to stand their beloved game be unlike by someone.

Anyway for the topic at hand... I'm unsure. Really go with what you want. Personally I'm waiting to see which next gen system will be the most appealing to me. That's what I do at least but I personally say to wait and see.

It's a hard decision, but many ppl say PS3 isn't worth it, because of its expense. I mean, $600 for a new game console? Crazy.
Wii has 7 channels, and you can link up your DS, but I don't have a DS, so I don't care about the DS Link Up. The 7 channels are awesome, but what does PS3 have? So far, in my knowledge, nothing. Nothing at all.
But KH3 is coming out on PS3, so I'll get PS3. It may be just one reason, but PS3's price no matter what is going to come down. I'll make it, or at least TRY.

In today's currency, many older consoles would cost about the same as the PS3 if released today, and there are many that would cost more.

And the 7 channels are pretty much basic crap that you should come to expect from most consoles nowadays that feature online of some sort.

If by KH you mean the first two games, just play them on a PS2. If you mean future games, wait it out. They've said they're kinda swaying with the PS3 as they don't want to bring it out for the console.

Not the same game. The Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 game is completely different from the Wii title and is more similar to the Sonic Adventure series. In other words, it's gonna suck, regardless of what system it's on.

You're right. You're not the best place to give an opinion as you do not need to actually get up and move around with the Wii remote. Nintendo's clearly said simple motions will be picked up, so you don't need to actually get up and about. Also, I wouldn't call an overheating PS3. Nor would I call Sony's track record of glitches in all kinds of product having severe problems upon release to the public.

Also seems someone's not aware of the fact that there are games outside of the Wii that require movement. Are we forgetting Dance Dance Revolution? ;\

Also would like to point out that the PS3's controller moves about similar to the Wii remote.

all you do is bag the Wii and praise the PS3 just grow up and accept the fact that their are fanboys and your a sony fanboy..

anyway get which ever you like more pokemon or KH if you want to play the current KH editions just get a PS2 it's way better then paying $600 for a PS3.
i personally like the Wii better but meh to each his own..

Did you even play the final game? No? Will you do so before saying what the quality of the product is? Stop thinking it will suck just because Sega had some failures in the past. Besides generally the original Sonic Adventure was liked now wasn't it?

Games, such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 allow you to use either a classic controller or GameCube controller instead of the Wii remote (Brawl won't be using the Wii remote at all). So no, it's not limited.
