Episode is decent. It really feels like an OS episode, which is fine when you consider those are the last 11 episodes so remember that feeling is nostalgic.

Well Latias appears to be following Ash around by the end so who knows? If she makes appearances in the next episodes maybe she will join him at the final episode.
Though that would mean Ash can't really do anything with her unfortunately.

That applies to basically every Pokémon he has right now, doesn't it? All the big stuff already happened after all.
People seriously thought this Latias was the same one from the 5th movie? Hasn't it been established that some smaller scale legendary Pokemon exist in multiples? It's like in Dragon Ball Super when people thought Goku Black was Goten from the future even though he never existed in the future timeline. I wish people here would use critical thinking skills.
Anyways, glad to see Latias is following Ash now. It's definitely leaning towards a capture by the end of the series.

Why did Ash have an empty space if he didn't get anything? It could have gone to somebody like Kingler 
A pretty nice start to Ash’s swan song series! It already changed the formula by having the dreaded “Pokémon are amazing” sequence have a variety of pokemon in it instead of just Kanto shilling. We had a Beedrill encounter that refreshingly did NOT end in a comedic chase sequence and perhaps best of all, Ash is rotating his team which fans have been hoping for for a while.
The only downside I have is that the Latias bit came in a tad late and went through the familiar motions of character helps injured Mon of the Day and gets the tsundere shoulder for the majority of it. It was nice that they connected Ash touching the stingers of Beedrill to him holding Latias’ hands. He was thrilled that he made friends with Beedrill, so I guess he sees Latias as his friend too if she learned to trust him. That’s definitely one of the things that makes a Pokémon Master; understanding all Pokémon, whether you catch them or not.
Also, the music was bad. I’m sorry, but Journeys has the worst music. So many scenes feel more dramatic than they need to be because of an aggressive ost.
But I was living for Mr.Mime’s side eyes to Professor Oak. “Came here to make moves on my woman after her son left, I’m watching you Tree Man” *furiously sweeps up leaves*.
In any case, I’m looking forward to more episodes and seeing old faces!

Oh yeah I'm never giving up still loving things from my childhood and all, it's just Ash was the only thing left from my childhood that was still ongoing lol. Everything else either ended or rebooted or had the curtains pulled down or I lost interest. Kinda the last connection to my childhood in a way. In the year where imma turn 21, it hits a bit hard lol

What's funny is that Tomiyasu isn't even the head honcho for this series unlike SM and JN, it's literally Yuyama, the person from OS-XY. Make it make sense

Didn't really feel anything from this episode besides seeing the reserves again (Sceptile the GOAT was the highlight). Felt like a typical filler and I am completely uninterested in Latias. Thought the OP was just a quick montage for a commercial lol. Underwhelming start but I don't have any expectations and little knowledge of what's coming next so it's whatever. 5/10

The OCD and pattern-enjoyer in me saw that bit in the OP where the photographs lined up, felt something warm inside, but then realized that everything came into shot in reverse order, EXCEPT the OG trio who still got in first.
