The world is 2037, and mankind is at the brink of extinction. Wars, natural disasters, global warming, and the self-fulfilling prophecy of societal collapse have finally caught up with our species. Nature too, has suffered far more than Man. The seas are wretched, their stench of death a stark reminder of the fate that awaits those who still live. The land torn asunder by nuclear war, scarred beyond recognition. Small pockets of society still exist, but they are mostly just large, traveling groups or stagnant fragments, doomed to eventually wither away. The planet is still habitable, but it's demise is certain, and all with cease to function.

It wasn't like this at the beginning, though.

35 years before the collapse, a single meteor fell from the heavens. By all calculations, that impact should have triggered a mass extinction. But instead, it shattered upon entering the atmosphere, sending large chunks across the globe. It triggered a global phenomenon in which all those laid their eyes upon the shattering fell into a deep coma, and eventually perished if not given permanent life support. Large organizations and scientific corporations immediately began their search for the pieces, realizing that the shattering defied humanity's understanding of the laws of physics. Governments around the globe went into a frenzy, and tried as hard as they could to keep everything under wraps. With the world's leaders coming together as one and working together to fight this otherworldly event, it seemed like everything was going to be fine.

And then, they found it. One by one, the shards of the meteor were discovered, and hauled straight to their countries for research. At first, the world spent a few years in harmony, every country pooling their resources and cooperation to find out what the meteor really was. As they came closer and closer to the truth, the bleaker the future became.

The war began in a day, and ended in a night.

There was no Alien invasion, or any Lovecraftian portal, nor was it a poisonous material from the meteor that triggered it. No, what humanity had discovered was that the meteor was actually a computer. One designed by something out in the stars, something uncomprehensible at the time. Created by nothing but crystals, the meteor, when put together, was a computer that of scanning and analyzing the entire planet in the span of 12 seconds, every 12 seconds. And the meteor was only part of an even larger piece. Humanity's darkest traits emerged, when strong men want absolute power, strife would be born. America, Russia and China all wanted all the shards for their own, for the technology embedded in the meteor could let them conquer the world, and set out a journey to the stars. If everyone had just cooperated, this would have been avoided. But no, human nature in inherently evil. Selfish. And all will pay for the sins of a few.

A small number within these countries realized what would happen, and pooled their resources together. SpaceX, it was called. Under the guise of the colonization of Mars, the corporation would begin to retrieve data about the Meteor, it's fragments, and it's origins. Reusable rockets, missions to the ISS, everything was used as a cover in preparation for the war. They knew that there was no way to stop it, so they planned to outlast it. SpaceX obtained data on every single living human on the planet and began to single out young individuals with certain genes required to carry on a perfectly healthy generation of human beings in other celestial bodies. Eventually, SpaceX had secured an incredibly large number of children able to carry on the Human Race. Over 24,000 children were chosen. Basically creating the layout for the next step in evolution. They worked, slogging through the years to attempt to get everything they needed to succeed. Time fell short, and SpaceX could not complete their independent research before the end of days.

Eventually, it would be finally revealed that whoever possessed the entire meteor would be able to venture to the Moon, and after analyzing it, transcend humanity. With this rather vague statement, many came to believe that under the Moon's crust laid the rest of the computer-like structure that the meteor was a part of. It was then when the war began. In an instant, the superpowers of the world began their attack, all with the intention of securing every single piece of the meteor. No land would go untouched. SpaceX put it's plan into work, and quickly retrieved all of the selected individuals to underground facilities, locking them within cryostasis. The intention would be to wait out the war, continue to reverse-engineer the data, and go to the Moon without the physical meteor-computer.

According to Murphy's Law, 'Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.' This is one such case. As the nuclear missiles soared through the skies in an attempt of M.A.D (Mutually Assured Destruction), the select few slept peacefully, unaware of the chaos above.

They would wait, and wait, and wait. There wasn't an indication when it was safe to awake, but those that watched over the sleeping individuals continued their research regardless. As the Planet fell, those hiding underground would begin to die as well. Resources stockpiled high, but it would not outlast the nuclear winter. The last remainder of humanity would be those asleep, the first to escape, but the last to die. The wardens of the underground facilities died one by one, their research in hand. Starvation, radiation, accidents, it seemed like there was no hope for the human race. Nobody to find the answer.

But when only those who slept remained...

The Meteor fragments, in union, would scan the Earth for their final time.

Every single idea, every single personality, every piece of literature, the history of the earth, humanity and nature, past, present and the near future, everything recorded into itself, sent to the Moon. Stealing the consciousness of the individuals still breathing on the forsaken planet, the Meteor brings the last bastion of humankind to a new frontier. Those who set foot into the Moon's core will fight for the right of Evolution; to become more, something those on Earth have never thought of. The right is not for a single man, but for the entire species. Now, as the collective consciousness of human history integrates itself into a computer of unparalleled capabilities, a replica of the most enjoyable dream will be made.

A game.

One in which magic, technology and faith will merge into one.

Utopia
The name given to the Meteor, for having granted mankind the illusion of a united people. It is a supercomputer made solely out of crystals, formed of an element unknown to man. With it's capabilities of automatically scanning the entire planet within ~12 seconds, it is the most sought after piece of technology in the entire world.

Created before even the birth of Life, the Moon has been the source of many mythological entities from cultures throughout history. A watchful eye of Earth, and where Utopia originated from. Blade Esoterica Online

Hyped up for years now, the now famous even before release MMO has finally been let loose onto the public after a massively extensive beta phase. Through a combination of astounding graphics, hyper-realism, and an absolutely cutting edge combat system, BEO has already reached the top of the charts. So pick up your sword, pick up your axe, pick up whatever you want, and head on out. Take a deep breath, take a look around you, and prepare yourself.

The recreated universe is essentially an enormous RPG game, crafted to limitless perfection. There's no overarching plot and progression, but nothing is limited and the game will never progress until the Players actually do something. A story will be forged by the acts of the Players, bringing into life a story in it's own self. A blank canvas it is now, with races, societies and unknowns that can be painted any way the Players wish, as long as they act appropriately. Imagine living in the Arthurian Era, and you are a child that will shape the legend of Merlin. You are a Player given endless possibilities, and you chose to become a Mage; as a Player surrounded by NPCs, you have access to an evolving skill system, and when you reach the zenith of your strength, you're basically Merlin.

Sight, sound, touch, taste, and hearing are all perfectly emulated by the system itself, and the world is entirely interactable. The main allure , beyond the extremely innovative Blade Esoterica System that makes almost inhuman feats of skill possible with only a thought, is the Distant Horizon Sytem, or DHS.

The world of Ythpia is an unimaginably large tower, 11 floors high. Each floor boasts the size of an entire continent, capable of holding numerous smaller dungeons of their own, with cities and towns faithfully recreated with the memories and details of every human being that ever existed. So far, only 2 floors are mapped and accessible.

Upon character creation, players will be placed in one of the many designated starting villages in Ythpia. Ythpia is a fledgling world, and has yet to be properly settled; it is with player input that new villages may be discovered, trade routes be established, and expansion be possible. NPCs are generated to fill the space available, and with larger and larger settlements come more opportunities, better shops, and greater and greater quests to be taken. A quest to help a lumberjack make the neighbouring forest safe may allow him to build more homes, allowing an alchemist to move in and begin his trade; this alchemist's potions, after being supplied ingredients by the players, may in turn draw the attention of a doctor, who then may be visited at night by a badly wounded prince...Through this system, and the immensely in-depth coding into AI and dialogue, BEO becomes the game players themselves want to play.

Of course, not everything's perfect. On the first day of the game's release, High in the sky, a large holographic screen appeared in multiple places. Each player looked up, recognizing the signs of a GM message. Unfortunately, you were one of those players. Right after creating a character, while you were still loading in...

What greeted you was a split screen, one half showing a man and the other showing a woman. Both of them looked distinctly human, but something felt off about their presence.

"We hope you all will enjoy the first day of our public release," he said, a small smile on his face.

"However," she continued. "I'm afraid we must announce something."

"The logout option has been disabled."

"Death is permanent."

"Death in game will result in a high frequency sensory overload in real life, causing major seizures and death."

"In game regeneration has been reduced to twice the speed of real life; find yourselves some alchemists, priests, or potions, soon."

"Once the 'Utopia' is reached, we will free you all."

"Good luck."

The screen closed.

Skills
At first glance, the Blade Esoterica System is needlessly complicated and involves a tedious amount of grind. However, the skill system is at essence a simple process of practicing something over and over again; this, in addition to the time dilation within the game (of around four ingame seconds per second in real life), simply means that players have to work for their maxed out skills.

As skills are leveled, Esotericas are unlocked. These are quick active usage abilities that provide a quick benefit to the user depending on the Skill the Esoterica belongs to. Esoterica's for weapon Skills are generally the nigh-inhuman acts of martial skill BEO has become famous for, while Esotericas for gathering and noncombat skills tend to lean towards more peaceful usage. Utility Esotericas, as they're called, tend to also just speed up a process to near instant speeds, depending on user skill level.

Skills are not given numeric values and are instead given several ranks, ranging from 'Novice' to 'Advanced' to the coveted 'MAX'. Below is a list of sample skills within BEO. Keep in mind that this is only a small sample.

1h Straight Sword: A simple skill available from the start, 1hSS as it's often abbreviated is a staple skill for both self defense and offensive. It's major weakness is that it synergises poorly with many of the gathering Skills and is very focused on its main job as a weapon; this is logical, considering swords were meant as such when first invented, and is a property shared by most other Swords.
-Sample Esotericas: Vertical Square, Vorpal Strike, Howling Octave, Savage Fulcrum

1h Axe: Another commonly used beginning skill, 1hX is actually slightly more common than 1hSS amongst new characters (if not new players) because of its versatility as both a tool and a weapon. In terms of combat usage, Axe skills tend to hit harder but slower than comparable Swords, and also have a smaller hitbox due to force being focused on the head; however, knockback tends to be much higher.
-Sample Combat Esotericas: Guillotine, Grand Cross, Tectonic, Tomahawk
-Sample Utility Esotericas: Rapid Forestation, Obstacle Removal

Alchemy: One of the most famous and yet paradoxically uncommon skills, Alchemy is focused around the creation of potions and mixtures for various effects, including healing, buffs, and on occasion offense. The alchemy skill features its own system that requires components to be gathered and mixed; because of the complexity and time consuming nature, those who have high Alchemy often suffer in other skills as a result. However, to balance this, high level users of Alchemy are said to be a combat style choice all its own.
-Sample Combat Esotericas: Alchemist Fire, Acid Rain, Sticky Napalm
-Sample Utility Esotericas: Potion Application, Haste Mixture, Quick Gather

X Craft: A blanket skill that has its name change based on the specific items; Weapon Craft, Armor Craft, and Material Craft are the basic three, while further divisions like Sword Craft and Glass Craft exist to seperate apprentices from real specialists. Many dabble into some form of craft for the almost necessary Structural Examination, which allows one to view the stats and status of both object, mobs, and players with only a glance.
-Sample Combat Esotericas: Structural Examination, Foundation Breaker (Requires 2h weapon),
-Sample Utility Esotericas: Rapid Refinement, Process Acceleration, Quick Scan

Bargaining: Because many of the NPCs in BEO are simplistic enough that actual conversation is fairly difficult, a skill exists for the purpose of simulating the 'haggling' aspect of frontier life. Higher levels of Bargaining allow better prices and deals between NPCs and players; player to player deals are however settled via speech alone, and deals between NPCs for whatever reason are generally set in stone.

[Special Skills]
Instead of being level-based, the RPG is skill-based.

As mentioned earlier, BEO features the Blade Esoterica System, which is the center piece to all combat that takes place within Ythpia. The Blade Esoterica System allows players to improve normally mundane skills like logging or herb gathering, along with the more common weapon skills, and gain access to powerful and useful Special Skills; A spear user who is trained in using rope may develop the Harpoon and Net skill, while a wielder of axes and swords may find themselves with the Shield Sunderer dual-wield type skill. With the Blade Esoterica System, players are encouraged to spread out and do whatever they feel like within the game, rather than simply treat the various lesser skills as a means to an end.

As a Player Character, you will be given a [Unique Skill] by me, depending on the traits you choose. Said [Unique Skill] will be an ability that allows you to do something that nobody else can.

Here's an example; so let's say you use a [One-handed Sword], with the [Alchemist] class, as a Player Character you would be given the [Unique Skill] of [Extraction], which allows you to use your free hand to quite literally extract things. In combat, you will be able to drain an enemy's stamina and mana by damaging a wounded spot with your free hand. Outside of combat, you can use this [Unique Skill] to perhaps extract certain chemicals, liquids or toxins from objects/others.

So, what are you?
You are a player trapped in an MMORPG. Once you reach the top of Ythpia and defeat the [Final Boss], you will be free.

Skills: List all of your character's relevant skills, including out-of-battle skills like tracking, foraging, excellent cooking, and the like. Be sure to describe your skill as well, like the extent of the skill, what it does in detail, etc.

No. You're supposed to be oblivious to it, and what you instead think is reality is at the first paragraph, about the MMORPG and how hyped up it was.

When designing this I was thinking on the lines of "better inform the players first", which is why one whole chunk of story is in a spoiler bracket.

Also, the world having ended may seem like a real grimdark and worrying thing but it's something set in stone already; not something actively happening as we go through the RP, and will only be relevant in the mid-late stages of this.

@AzerWrath: Whoops. No. I said "screw it" because I'm in a bunch of other RPs was hesitant to join but then I thought "Screw it, I'll join anyway".

Anyways, here are my characters! Mon, Schade, you two would probably recognize the first one. I hope they're okay. I'm assuming since they started playing that their appearance is different from their "real life" appearance and they some weapons but if not, particularly the latter, I just mentioned what I imagined they would look like eventually and where they hold their weapons.

Also, I couldn't help but add a little decription to the class section, just because. XP



Name: Elisa Tracks, "the Sun Knight"
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Class: Knight - A class sworn to an oath to protect the weak and innocent. Even if Knights aren't fast, their focus on defense as much as power more than make up for it. They specialize in cloee combat but can learn a few spells, but not to the extent of a mage or the like.

Description: Elisa is pretty much the average height for her heritage, standing at five foot six. She has green eyes and light brown skin. Her hair is dark brown and short, while her build is fit and feminine, maintained with exercise. Her regular clothes are a white shirt with a magenta blouse, blue jeans and black rubber shoes. She always wears the yellow bracelet with a dagger keychain, given to her by her boyfriend, Carmelo. Her "avatar" keeps her physical details and her bracelet but is more befitting of her class as a Knight. She has armor all over her with her helmet having a visor. Her armor is a deep yellow with the symbol lf an orange sun on her chest. Her helmet looks draconic witj two elongated pieces sticking out the back looking like "horns", the curvature making it look like it has "eyes" and its rim looking as if they were "teeth". Under the armor is a white cotton shirt and brown shorts. She keeps her sword sheathed on her left, which currently looks suspiciously like an arming sword.

Personality: Elisa is calm individual with a friendly demeanor. She doesn't drive anyone but she doesn't neccessarily try to attract anyone either. She's more often than not alone and has gotten used to it. By herself or not interacting with anyone, she tends to be quiet unless spoken to or feels a need to comment. But her true nature comes through around company. She's a cheery person who loves the company of others and is more than willing to talk or listen. She likes jokes and witty banter but is usually rather lousy at both. She's rarely fazed by insults from years of dislike towards her.

Elisa is an optimistic person and look on the bright side of things. She's greatly cherishes the happy memories she's made and those memories and her hopefulness are what gives her the drive to continue through the tough times. She knows she can make it, if not for herself, than for the people she cares about. Thanks to this drive, problems hitting her way rarely keep her down for long, if at all. She's also more than willing to be the shoulder someone can cry on and help.

Though she "follows her heart", she's a rather intelligent and reasonable person and, as such, tries to keep everything she does in balance. She does her best to rely on her intelligence as much as her feelings and does her activities in moderation, sleep the right amount, work the right amount, study the right amount, and relax the right amount. She cares a lot about others and is a compassionate person. She's more than willing to help others. She won't be fooled though. She has little tolerance for malevolence and is surprisingly fierce and unrelenting in battle. But she's forgiving if the person proves they truly regret whatever they've done and wish to make up.

She cares a lot for her boyfriend, Carmelo and is incredibly close to him. Even if she is, usually, as she also secretly likes them, exasperated by his puns and jokes, she often knows what he's thinking. The two are often able to synchronize their speech, even their movements, which is one of the few jokes that she participates with him. She also has a lot of trust in him, so it's unlikely that you can fool her into thinking Carmelo has betrayed her, in one way or another. And she's protective of him, though thankfully not to overbearing levels. But if you harm, or even insult, Carmelo, you won't come out unharmed.

Background: The first of two children of the Tracks, Elisa was born in Cebu City, Philippines, with her brother, Elliot, born a year after her. Through her toddler years, she was very close to her brother and would keep an eye on him. She would play with him and help him whenever she could. That was why, even at the young age of five, she was devastated to see her brother die of the disease known as dengue (pronounced deng-GEH). Despite being sad, she knew her brother wouldn't want her to be sad for long, so she took comfort in trying out the toys and things he liked. She ended up liking them herself but when she started going to school, it made things worse for her.

The little girls thought she was weird for wanting to play with "boy toys" like dinosaurs and the boys didn't want to play with a girl too much, seeing as she dressed up her dinosaur toy, so she was left all alone. She didn't really know how to deal with this and really believed there was something wrong with her. But she didn't give it up. She wouldn't dishonor her brother. It was worth as after a while, the new student came up to her one day and asked if he could play with her. That was the start of a fast friendship. The two became close quickly and Elisa got just the boost she needed to not mind all the mean words.

It was all fine until one day when she was twelve, a bunch of people went into her house, one of them being a policeman. They said her parents had died in a car crash. For the second time in her life, Elisa was crushed and she cried. Nobody wanted her. But then she was soon reminded someone did as Carmell came by her house, comforted her, and asked if, perhaps, his parents could take care of her. After much red tape, that became a reality and Elisa was much thankful for that.

High school wasn't much better, but she had more complicated matters to deal with, like the fact that she fell in love with Carmelo. She wasn't sure what made her realize that, but she did, and she didn't know if it was real or not. Because of that, she didn't do anything about it. She just pretended as if nothing changed. Besides, she had no idea if Carmelo felt the same and she didn't want to make things awkward between them. Any thought of trying was gone by the time Carmelo asked if she liked him as more than a friend, that was why she cried tears of joy as she said yes. Though the venomous rumors got worse, with Carmelo by her side, she felt she could brave through it and they graduated with little problems.

It was when they were decided which college to go together (as she wanted to be part of the police while Carmelo was still deciding) was when the hype of Blade Esoterica Online came along. To say the least, though MMOs were rather popular in the Philippines, it was still surprising considering the fact that not many played video games in their country. At first, Carmelo was a bit skeptical of it being that good but when his parents managed to get beta access (after Elisa asked them, of course), was his doubts were gone. Unfortunately, just the day it had been released, during "summer" school break in the Philippines, when they logged in, they get a notice that they can't log out.

Of course Carmelo makes a joke about it.

Equipment:
ONE EDGED SWORDS
A series of weapons with only one sharp side. They come in many different sizes and forms and can be used single handed or two, though more often than not is more effective with two. Elisa prefers to use one Medium One Edged Sword for maximum control and damage.
Advantages:
+Easier to control
+Capable of defensive abilities

Disadvantages:
-Has to be precise to cut enemy
-Needs to be wielded with two hands for maximum effectiveness

HEAVY ARMOR
A series of wearable armors established for high defense. They're made of very strong materials, come in various sizes and have several parts. Elisa prefers having a Heavy Armor Set, with a Heavy Helmet, Heavy Arm Armor, Heavy Body Armor and Heavy Leg Armor.
Advantages:
+Able to negate weak attacks
+Able to weaken medium powered attacks and above

Disadvantages:
-Requires great strength to wear
-Lowers speed
-Drains stamina somewhat faster

Skills:
2h Sword: A skill that has the user wield a Sword with two hands. Although 2hS, takes some getting used to, and mastering, with two hands holding the Sword, it's easier to control and attack accurately with it. It can be applied to any Sword, even One Handed. It has little use outside of combat.
Combat Esoterica(s): True Blade Strike, Heart Piercer, Sword Block

Fisticuffs: A skill that is very basic as anyone can start doing it but needs much mastering. FTC allows unarmed combat, whether be it with bare hands or armored ones. Unfortunately, it doesn't have many uses for more mundane purposes.

Name: Carmelo Ramirez, "the Moon Ranger"
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Class: Gunslinger - If you could have the long range of an archer yet the capability of close range combat, that's basically what a Gunslinger is. A Gunslinger specializes in the use of gun and because of that, they can fight in close quarters combat.

Description: Not a very tall guy, at least compared to most Westerners, Carmelo only stands at five foot four. His skin is light brown and he has green eyes, like his girlfriend. He has a fit build and has short and straight black hair. His normal clothes were various shades of green, usually his shirt. His most common attire was a light green shirt, black slacks and green rubber shoes. The shirt was given to him by his girlfriend, Elisa. It has the skull of Allosaurus with a glowing purple eye and the words "dino sans" under it in comic sans. His "avatar" is more befitting of his class of Gunslinger. His clothes are still mostly green, with the shirt being the one Elisa gave and his slacks being a dark green. But his armor is an icy blue with the symbol of a purple moon. His helmet looks wolf like, with two extension on the back that look like "ears", the curvature making it look like it has "eyes" and the front pointed like a canine "snout". He often holds his shotgun while his rifle and submachine gun on over his torso on a sling, the former at the back, the latter at the front.

Personality: A seemingly laid back and goofy individual, he often has a silly smile on his face. He isn't really put off by other people's demeanor, whether they be eeriely stoic or annoying agressive. A friendly guy through and through, he always seems to do his best to not tick off the other person. He loves jokes, especially puns, and will try to squeeze in a joke in every conversation at least once, especially dinosaur or video game related ones. Though he's not much of a fan of pranks, mostly because half of them are rather mean. But underneath that is a surprisingly serious yet compassionate attitude.

After years of hearing people badmouth him and Elisa, it isn't easy to insult him. He also takes any responsibility given to him with all he's got and will diligently do it, learning from his parents who maintained a business. He's rather smart, with quite a lot of knowledge in animals, paleontology and, a less academic subject, video games. Like Elisa, he's more than willing to help others. In fact, he's a rather generous person. He can get reckless like her when it comes to the safety of others, putting their safety over his own.

He cares a lot for his girlfriend, Elisa, and is incredibly close to her. Though he can't help but annoy her sometimes with his jokes as, like her, he often knows what she's thinking, and he knows she secretly likes his jokes. The two are often able to synchronize their speech, even their movements, which he enjoys greatly as it's one of the few jokes that she participates with him everytime. He also has a lot of trust in her, so it's unlikely that you can fool her into thinking Elisa has betrayed him, in one way or another. And he's protective of her as she is of him, though thankfully not to overbearing levels. But if you harm, or even insult, Elisa, you won't come out unharmed.

Background: Carmelo was born to a rather wealthy business family in Cebu City, Philippines. Unlike most, although his parents were busy maintaining their business, they would do their best to make time to spend with their son. Carmelo grew up playing games, both digital and physical, with his father and leaning many things with his mother. They were all close even when most of their time was spent in work. Thanks to this, he was never spoiled, especially with all the stories of knights, princes, and so on he read as a kid and the kinds of video games he played. Not much happened in his early years, until a year after he started going to school.

He was enrolled into a new school as his last one wasn't so good. In his first days, he noticed there was this one kid that was always left alone in recess. It was little girl name Elisa and she would play by herself with a dinlsaur toy. Not liking to see someone so lonely, he went up to her one day and asked if he could play with her. That was start of a fast friendship. The two quickly became close and Carmelo realized his previous "friends" weren't so nice, seeing as they kept being mean to such a nice girl all because she wanted to honor her late brother's memory by trying out dinosaurs and stuff.

The two stuck to each other in elementary and not much happened in their life. But then when Carmelo was thirteen, he went to Elisa's house to help with a project, when he saw Elisa crying and there were a bunch of strangers in her house. Her parents had died from a car crash and there was no one left to take care of her. Carmelo immediately asked for his parents to have Elisa stay in their house. After much red tape, they managed just that, and Carmelo comforted her throughout the ordeal.

High school wasn't much better for either of them as people still though negatively of Elisa, this time as taking advantage of him. He could care less, especially when he had his own problems. He had fallen in love with Elisa. He had no idea if it really was it, but he still thought that. As such, he didn't feel it was his place to say anything about that. That was, until he unintentionally thought out loud and his parents heard him. After a much needed talk and asking if he was really serious, they suggested that he at least ask her. To his surprise, and in retrospect, made him feel almost stupid, apparently Elisa felt the same. The news of them being a couple spread like wildfire in their school and it even increased the dislike to Elisa. But they braved through it. After all, they were just rumors. They went through high school with little problems with the "school" part.

It was when they were decided which college to go together (as Elisa wished to be part of the police while he was still deciding) was when the hype of Blade Esoterica Online came along. To say the least, though MMOs were rather popular in the Philippines, it was still surprising considering the fact that not many played video games in their country. At first, Carmelo was a bit skeptical of it being that good but when his parents managed to get beta access (which they surely did because of Elisa), his doubts were gone. Unfortunately, just the day it had been released, during "summer" school break in the Philippines, when they logged in, they get a notice that they can't log out.

Oh well, at least it wasn't during school.

A series of firearms established for accuracy over long range. Though there are many different sniper rifles with many different calibers, the size of the ammo, and two different ways of reloading, most use the same basic design. Carmelo prefers using a Bolt Action Heavy Caliber Sniper Rifle.

MEDIUM ARMOR

Stella's height is at 5'10", but she wears high heels often, so she appears to be a few inches taller. She doesn't go into the sun all to often, claiming it's bad for your skin, so her skin is fair as a result. She has a slender build, but still has a feminine figure. She has straight, blond hair that falls to her waist, with short bangs cut straight across her forehead that go to her eyebrows. She usually wears a pink headband on top of her head to keep her hair tidy. Her eyes are almond shaped, and are a light shade of blue. She puts a lot of effort into maintaining her appearance, and she makes sure to keep her face clear of any blemishes, and to maintain a good weight.

Her avatar looks like a medieval sorceress. She wears mage robes that resemble a long sleeved pink and gold gown. There are shoes on her feet, but you can't see them with how long the dress is. She also wears a gold necklace, and a fancy circlet made with pink jewels.

Personality: Stella is a proud, confident young woman. She can come off as arrogant sometimes, often overestimating herself, while underestimating others, but she does have a kind caring side somewhere deep down, someone just has to be willing to look for it. She is not shy in the slightest, and if given the opportunity, she will say exactly what she thinks, which often gets her into trouble, and offends people. She usually acts very serious and proper, and appears to have no tolerance for low-class behavior, but it's just an act, and she knows how to have fun if the circumstances are right. She is a strong willed individual, and once she's decided on something, it is very difficult to change her mind. Due to her wealthy upbringing, and being given whatever she wanted whenever she asked, she is spoiled, and has very high standards, and she gets upset if things do not meet those standards. She is very frivolous, and she's known for spending money like it grows on trees. Especially if it's someone else's money.

Stella values cuteness and beauty in all areas in her life. From her taste in clothes, to the people she associates with. If your one of those people that do not meet her expectations. Depending on the person, she will avoid you, try to give you a makeover, or be needlessly cruel to you. As one would imagine, looks mean everything to Stella. She can often be seen studying her reflection in any reflective surface available. She despises dirt and ugliness with a passion. She hates sports, physical labor, camping, or anything that could possibly get her dirty and ruin her image. If forced to do them, she will complain. Something else she can't stand, bugs (Including Spiders.) Butterflies and Moths are fine, it's the ants, worms, cockroaches, etc. she can't stand.

She can be a nice person once you get to know her. This is noticeable when she's speaking to someone she finds to be cute, or has taken a liking to. She will act friendly towards them, and if they are younger than her, act like a sister to them. She's also quite generous to her friends. One thing that may surprise you, is that despite being a girly girl, she actually enjoys playing video games, and she has an extensive collection of games at home. (Though, you won't find any shooters or sports games in there. You will find some fighting games though, just nothing excessively violent.) She doesn't hide this fact, and she often brings a portable game system or two with her. She is also much smarter than she looks. She doesn't find stupidity attractive either.

Background: Stella was born in New York, in the high class upper east side of Manhattan, and has lived there most of her life. She was born the only child of one of the richest and most famous families in the region. Stella has no idea what her parents actually do for a living, other than being businesspeople. All she knows is that both her parents make lots of money, and that they come from a long line of wealthy businesspeople. Due to their busy work schedules, they weren't able to be around as often as they would have liked. The only times she got to see both parents together, were at formal functions.

Feeling guilty about this, they spoiled their daughter, and gave her whatever she asked for, often in excess. If she wanted a pony, she got 5 ponies, a stable to keep them in, riding lessons, and people to care for them. If she wanted Candy, she got her own Candy store. The latest iPhone model, she got the next model before it was available to the public, and it was custom made just for her. As one can imagine, this made her very spoiled, and gave her a superiority complex. She often flaunted her wealth, and had little regard for people she felt were beneath her. Her parents were usually busy, and they never noticed.

For awhile, Stella was homeschooled by scholars and tutors that were handpicked by her parents. She received etiquette lessons, and was taught how to be a lady, as well as other things in order to groom her to inherit the family fortune. When she was thirteen, she was enrolled into an elite Private School. She was able to ace the entrance exams and earn admission. She did very well in her classes, and maintained fantastic grades her entire time there. However, because of her condescending attitude, most of the other kids treated her with indifference. Most of the friends she did have only hung out with her because of her money. Despite being a social butterfly, Stella had no real friends. She acts like it doesn't bother her, but deep down, it does.

Stella had known about BEO since it was announced, and made a point to be one of the first ones to get it. Everything was going as she imagined it would, until she got the notice they weren't able to log out.

Leo is a tall young man, standing at 6'0". He is physically fit and quite strong, with a toned athletic physique that he is quite proud of. Due to living in a tropical place most of his life, and because he often goes outdoors, his skin is lightly tanned. His face is round, free of blemishes, and rather boyish. Marked by large expressive blue eyes, a small nose, and a usually smiling mouth. These features give him a rather youthful appearance. He has short, messy black hair, with messy bangs that cover his forehead, and go to his eyebrows. A strand of hair on top of his head always stands up, no matter how much he tries to comb it down. He doesn't mind it though, thinking it makes his hair more distinctive. Except for the top of his head, and eyebrows, the rest of his upper body is void of any hair.

His game avatar wears pinkish red armor. He wears red tights on his legs, and pinkish red knee-high riding boots on his feet. He also wears pinkish red fingerless metal gauntlets on his hands. He dons a red headpiece that has two red jewels on either side that have wings attached to them.

Personality: Leo is a bright, cheerful person, with an optimistic view on life. He can often be found with a smile on his face, even when things look bleak. As such, he often makes jokes, and does silly things when the situation is tense to lift people's spirits, but his attempts to make people laugh sometimes backfire. He believes there is some good in everyone, and for that, he is very trusting of others. A genuine nice guy, he is always willing to help someone in need. Often putting the needs of others ahead of his own. After his parents divorce, and dealing with bullying, Leo is able to empathize with others in a similar situation. He makes it his personal mission to befriend and help people like this. Sometimes though, he can be too nice, to the point of gullibility, and people often take advantage of him for it. Leo is very outgoing and social. He likes meeting new people, and making new friends. He is not afraid to strike up a conversation with a random stranger. Being used to having to watch over his little sisters, he's become accustomed to taking care of people. He is loyal, empathetic, and very protective of those he cares about, making him a good friend to have.

Leo is very energetic. So much so, that it is very difficult for him to sit still and concentrate on one thing for long periods of time. Because of this, he likes to actually do stuff, instead of sitting there reading about it. While he is able to think quick on his feet during intense situations. he often acts impulsively, and jumps to conclusions without thinking first. Unlike a lot of guys he's known, Leo is the type of guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. His feelings are there for everyone to see, and he's pretty easy to read. For example he cries openly during the endings of sad movies, and is affectionate towards close friends. Due to his cheerful nature, it is usually difficult to anger him. That said, Leo is not perfect, and is prone to having a bad day just like everyone else. When things becoming overwhelming, he has really bad angry outbursts where he just lashes out at the most appropriate target. Leo isn't one to hold grudges for very long, and is very quick to forgive people.

Leo has an affinity for cute things, and is not ashamed about it at all. One of his favorite things at the moment is the TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which he watches regularly with his youngest sister. He is an unabashed Brony, he has a collection of merchandise from the show, and often makes references to it in everyday conversation. He's aware how silly it might look for someone his age to be liking a show aimed at little girls, and generally he has a good sense of humor about the whole thing. (However, he does get defensive if someone makes fun of him for it.) He's had bad experiences with bullies as a kid, and he fears having to experience that again. He likes fantasy and fairy tales, and he developed most of his idealistic beliefs from them. He also likes other things some would consider childish as well. He can cook well, due to having to make dinner for the family when his mom was working. He particularly enjoys making (and eating) desserts. This is because he's found that sharing sweets with others is a great way to bond with people. Although he tries to keep it in moderation.

Despite his optimism, Leo still has some insecurities from his childhood. He masks it with a smile and laughter most of the time. but it still lingers in the back of his mind. These feelings are what drive him to get stronger, and to make more friends. Those same reasons are why he dresses the way he does. and takes opportunities to show off his strength without actually bragging. He doesn't want to have to deal with bullies ever again, and he feels like getting people to like him means they can't be bullies.

Background: Leo was born in Miami Florida. He was the oldest of three siblings, and the only male among the three. His parents' relationship became strained after his father, Leroy, lost his job shortly after the youngest daughter was born, and the family started experiencing financial troubles. It was not helped by Leroy turning to Wine to drown his sorrows, which worried the rest of the family. Leroy and his wife, Luisa, often argued loudly during the night. While things never escalated to physical violence, but the yelling still made the three kids uncomfortable. Despite the drama, Leo tried to put on a brave face, and hoped things would work out in the end. Eventually Luisa got a promotion at her job that made up for the loss of income, but by then the damage was done, and Leroy filed for divorce.

Leo currently lives with his mom, and his younger sisters Lilly and Lucy. He is much closer to his mother than with his father. They were not wealthy, but they weren't poor either. Being a single parent, Luisa often had to work long hours, leaving Leo responsible for looking after his sisters, and taking care of household things while she worked. Unlike a lot of other boys though, Leo didn't really mind this, and actually enjoyed it. As a result of this, he became accustomed to taking care of people. He also learned a lot of domestic skills, and became very good at cooking.

He was a rather scrawny child, and he was often picked on by bullies who thought he was weaker than them. It did not help that he was a sensitive kid, and he had a taste for things that are usually considered girly by others. He would come home with bruises on a regular basis. His father did not help matters by suggesting that living in a house full of girls was turning him into one. While all the bullying upset him, he kept up a cherful demeanor in front of others, not wanting to burden them with his problems. He believed that if he thinks positively, things would get better. Even though Leo admits to himself that he doesn't get along with his dad, and he will avoid talking about him to others, he still doesn't hate him. He clings to the hope that they will be able to reconcile.

Around the time Leo entered puberty, things started to change. His mother announced that her office was transferring her to New York City, and that the family would be moving there. While he was nervous about moving to a new state, Leo remained positive. Moving to a new place gave him the opportunity to change his situation. Deciding that he no longer wanted to be a wimp, and a constant bullying victim. He started working out and getting into sports, which resulted in him putting on a little muscle, and making new friends. Due to his social personality, he quickly became quite popular on campus, particularly with other girls. He also maintained good grades. Life was actually starting to look up. Despite how well things were going, he didn't let it get to his head. He still remained the same sensitive kid he always was. Now a senior in high school, Leo has begun to think about his future. He is unsure what he wants to do with his life.

Leo had heard about BEO from some friends at school. He doesn't usually play MMOs, but not wanting to be left out of a movement, he decided to give it a try. He was not prepared to potentially be stuck in the game though...

- Leo has had crushes on males and females before, but he doesn't feel comfortable labeling himself.

As a shapeshifter, Faye is usually seen partially shifted with the ears and tail of a wolf. However, she is also able to fully transform herself into a wolf.

Faye is slightly short for someone her age, standing at a mere 5'2" and weighing around 135 pounds. However, her small size is certainly made up for with her large personality. She is lean, slim, but certainly not lacking any muscle; although you wouldn't exactly call her muscular you can tell that she exercises regularly. Her eyes are amber in colour, usually seen with a small amount of mascara over them to make her eyelashes seem a little larger. Her face is otherwise covered with warpaint down her cheeks as well as a small nose ring on her left nostril. Her hair is somewhat messy and wild, it is a brilliant red in colour and is parted by two fluffy red wolf ears at the top, one wolf ear is pierced at the top with two rings and a chain that goes downward towards the base of the ear. (the avatar has human ears pierced like this, just ignore those.) She considers herself cute, loving to play with her ears and show them off to other people; especially when showing off her full body with her fluffy tail. Her hands have wolf's claws that appear at all times, allowing her some form of combat while not fully transformed.

For clothing, Faye likes to wear somewhat loose fitting clothing in order to make her transformations easier. Her main choice of shirt is a cute orange poncho with a brown collar and brown buttons running down the front. Her pants are typical brown leggings, complete with white boots made with faux fur.

When fully transformed she takes on the appearance of a wolf with brilliant red fur similar to that of her hair, standing around 2 feet tall at the shoulders and about 4 feet from her snout to her tail. She adores running around in this form, often wagging her tail and using her sharp strong teeth and claws to tear enemies limb from limb.

Personality: Faye can be described as a simply fun loving individual. She loves to have a good time and will always crack jokes in order to make others more comfortable around her or to simply make light of a bad situation. However she's also loud, confident, and cocky; loving to shout about any accomplishments she feels she's made. She likes to keep her tough looking exterior and as such, puts on a tough "I'll kick anyone's ***" attitude. She's a natural born leader, and will make anyone that stands in her way understand that she is the true leader here, through any means necessary. However, despite this she cares deeply for the team; wanting to help people when they get into a bind and often going out of her way to help newcomers within the game. However, sometimes she just tends to scare off people with her sharp tone of voice and the fact that they usually see an over-excited wolf bounding towards them. As such, she often sticks to herself, in a way that she refers to as being a lone wolf.

She's friendly but often finds it difficult to make friends due to people hating her jokes, being bothered by her appearance, or simply being frightened about the way she holds herself and the way she speaks in her gruff tone of voice. However, deep down she loves cute things. She loves looking cute, making memes about being cute and often smirks and tries to make herself look as "kawaii-uguu" as possible. She often makes heart signs with her hands after a victory and winks at anyone watching. it's not that she's exactly flirty, she just loves to be cute and likes giving herself a cute outlook.

Feng made a deal with some sort of entity that gave him these radical dark powers, he doesn't know exactly what it was but it was awesome.

Feng is a man of average height, standing around 5'10" and weighing around 190 pounds. His build could almost be considered muscular, giving him some bulk and wider than average shoulders. He's of Chinese descent, and of course being raised in rural Shanghai he speaks fluently in Chinese and of course he's been learning English to assist with his schooling. His skin marks his obvious asian origin, and his bulky mass can be attributed to years of rigorous exercise. His face is angular, somewhat handsome and blemished only with a thin layer of stuble as a beard. His eyes are a bright, brilliant green; almost unnatural in a way. His hair, although not particularly long is long enough that he is able to put it in a small messy bun atop his head. His hair is dark brown in colour, and he prides himself in making certain it looks alright. However, his avatar is usually seen wearing a large blue dragon hood that obscures his mouth and does not allow you to see his hair. His eyes glow faintly within the mouth of the mask.

For clothing, he likes to stick to a blue theme; believing it to be a good representative of the wind magic he specialises in. He wears an average white dress shirt with medium armour above it with blue shoulder pads and hip guards. He wears blue gloves to cover his hands from any magical debris, along with blue and black medium armoured pants. His shoes, well, those are just regular old black shoes. To complete his appearance is his spiked blue gale staff, usually held in his dominant hand.

Personality: Feng is a polite, well mannered man who means the best and always tries to make people feel as comfortable and at home as possible. He takes great pride in his field of education and loves learning new things. He's a tough looking man with a big heart, only wanting the best for those close to him and anyone that looks up to him. He lends a helping hand to anyone in need, especially younger people struggling. He wants to make the world a better place and always tries to help newcomers into the game as well as newcomers into his school. He finds it easy to make friends with his polite and friendly demeanour, however sometimes he can get a little flustered and shy when he is asked to do too many things at once or has a large deadline coming up. He can be somewhat gruff, especially when trying to get his point across. at times he can also be a little overbearing and over-protective; especially around his friends, who he only wants the best for. He's a tad depressed, not coming from the best home life and wanting to never make others feel the same way as him. He can be prone to anger, getting angry over small things easily if you accidentally set him off.

Class: Falcon Knight - A class that rides on winged unicorns unicorns. They wield lances, and can use some supportive magic.

Everyone else is fine till they're done, uh, but getting a unicorn_unicorn at the start of the game seems to be a little too strong right now. Rename your class to be something like Monster Rider. You'll basically be a Lancer with taming capabilities till you meet your acceptable mount, which in this case will be the Unicorn at around Floor 4.

I'm having difficulty with the skills and the equipment.

I have no idea what the advantages and disadvantages of different weapons and armor are. Made worse when your character uses magic.

And don't even get me started on all the Esotericas. What kind of Esoterica can you possibly have with cooking? You cook the food and you either burn it or you don't. ._.

Searching the internet hasn't been helpful... Help would be appreciated please.

It's not too difficult. Think Fire Emblem, Skyrim etc etc. You could use the Sword -> Axe -> Lance triangle from FE (If I recall that one correctly) as an example.
Magic users are usually weak to their own stamina, if they run out of... mana, or whatever we call it here. physically weak, mostly. I often compare it to Psychic-Type Pokemon and their generally low defenses. lol

Like My character. He's mostly gonna use a regular One-Handed sword category weapon, even though he also use daggers, which also falls within the same category. He'll be at a disantvantage with range. Stuff like that. My char's Light Armor means he's quick on his feet, yet not very tanky.

Th is Esotericas though? that's a new word to me.

Lance > Sword

And magic and bows are neutral. It really doesn't help me much in here. ._.

Right, I got the whole 'magic uses mana' thing covered. But looking at the example, they list three different advantages and disadvantages for spears. I don't know what any of those things mean. ._. Maybe it's because I don't know weapons that well. I'm used to press A and character stabs other character or something. xD
