So will Gym Leaders still be a staple in future gens? Alola just changed up the formula a little.

I don't really know, but it might be in the next generation. I don't think that the Trial Captain thing or something similar will return in another generation within the near future.
It has also annoyed me that there are no male Fairy-type specialists. It will be interesting to see one introduced and it is definitely okay for men to use Fairy-type Pokémon.

The crescent moon phase which is visible when you're using Mantine Surf during nighttime is drawn upside down, and it really irks me. Has whoever drew the background never seen the moon before?

How the difficulty options were handled in BW2. First, they are version exclusive. Challenge Mode is only in Black 2 and Easy Mode is only in White 2. Second, you have to complete the game in order to unlock it. Third, in order to have it before completing the game and to have the mode exclusive to the opposite version, you have to have a friend who beat the game and have them transfer the mode onto your game through Unova Link. Why did they do this?

Whenever I accidentally skip over rewards in Festival Plaza as in forgetting to get FC after a trade or a battle and rank-up rewards from Sophocles.

The Rotom Dex keeps bothering me for pictures whenever I evolve a Pokemon. I'm trying to complete the dex, not make an album!

Oh, that happens to me all the time. ^^; I've ranked up more than 1,200 times and I think I only got rank-up rewards from Sophocles half those times at best.

I always try to go back to Sophocles's castle to get the rewards but there have been a very few times I've missed rewards -_-
But there have been times Rotom Dex has been annoying with unsolicited Roto Boosts in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, especially with the EXP boost at Melemele Meadow when Nebby gets lost after getting out of the bag and prize money boosts once the player reaches Route 11.

I think the reason we've never had a Dark-type Gym Leader is because, going by the Dark type's Japanese name (the 'Evil' type), Japanese players would think that the Gym Leader themselves were evil. Yet we've had three Dark-type Elite 4 members (Karen, Sidney and Grimsley) and a Dark-type Island Kahuna (Nanu), and they're not necessarily bad or evil.
As you write we already had Dark type Elite 4 members and Nanu. Nanu's even a police officer. If the police can use dark types, so can gym leaders.
And I think we could easily have a Dark Type Gym Leader, even with the "Evil" name. One version could be to make them a combat pragmatist and have them say something along the lines "Evil is really a misleading name/Dark type Pokemona aren't so sinister at all, they just know that to win a fight, you sometimes have to use all you have got." or something along the lines.
It'd work. If we can have Poison gym leaders, we can have Dark type ones.
Imho Roxie could have been a decent Dark Type gym leader.

Johto not having it's own Pokemon League...They could have made G/S/C the only games where you can enter 2 regions AND battle two Elite 4s.

Yeah I kinda don't get why Kanto and Johto share the same Pokémon League but it might have to do with data limitations or Game Freak wasn't bothered because they thought it was too much.

True, if anything the game should have taken place in Kanto if they wanted it to be the true sequel they were going for. I mean in this way Lance could be champion of Johto and Red could be champion of Kanto...doesn't really make much sense though in the context of the story.

It annoys me that in Gen 7 games, the player has to press the A button to open and enter doors as well as entering the Pokémon Center.
Some of the limitations in items seems pointless. I get some sort of cap has to be put on how many item boosts you can get per game but some seem random and harmless. How can an extra Eviolite break the game worse than having unlimited Rare Candys available at BP counters?

No Pokemon with the Ability to set up Trick Room in a region rampant with slow Pokemon (Alola). Seriously, even if it had lousy stats it should have been created as at least a gimmick...

Not really a gear grinding moment, more of a WTF moment. I restarted my Black 2 recently because I was missing my gen five legendaries hard core and I was thinking, why is Tepig the only Unova starter that gets the dual typing of Fire/Fighting once it becomes Pignite. Why isn't Serperior Grass/Dark and Samrott not Water/Psychic?
