the codes are still better than RNG. if you know what pokemon will be traded you can get an idea if its the right trainer. choosing uncommon numbers ie not 1234, 1111,2222 ETC will cut that down a bit...

Strongly disagree. I used uncommon numbers and still ran into other people. Comes down the sheer amount of people online. And there's still RNG involved as I ran into four people who weren't who I was trying to trade with. At least we were able to choose in Let's Go, annoying codes aside.

i'll take your experience over my opinion then, i havent used the codes much at all, much less done 5 trades so far in gen8. if i bothered to trade more often then id see your point much more clearly.

Yea it is why I don't trade that often. Fair point.

There are thousands of Poole trading at the same time so it makes sense why no matter what the code is you will likely run into other people

Yep. It's why a system like that is such a hassle and is so impractical. It's not something that's fun and it makes trading with others into a chore.

I'd rather be overleveled for gyms than underleveled. I always train and grind too much so I'm almost always stronger than the gym leaders in each game.

My teams are usually over-leveled too. It was a problem when I played X because it made the Kalos gyms way too easy and they were already a joke to begin with. The Kalos games are just way too easy even without the Exp Share activated.

I go through surprise trade, raids and random overworld encounters. That said, I'm no fan of the lack of GTS either.

But then you can’t get Pokémon like Zacian,Zamazenta,Eternatus,or Mew because nobody would ever surprise trade them and you can’t obtain them in max raid battles!

Yep. But I've heard of a person who got a Mew from it. And I've gotten rares before via wonder trade. Sadly not legit ones, but no complaints from me.

I suppose this is an unpopular opinion, but I disliked the GTS from Gen V onward because it was too restrictive. The Gen IV GTS at least allowed certain Mythicals to be traded from what I remember, whereas the Gen V and VI GTS were more picky about that from what I can recall, and it was annoying for me especially since I used to use Mythicals as bait to get version exclusives during the Gen IV days, as well any strong Pokemon that I wanted for my collection.

I'm thinking they restricted them due to people hacking them. Not that it stopped them from doing that with other Pokemon.

I do that sometimes if I run out of room, want to put a gift aside to get an egg from it, etc.. It's not a personal thing, it just happens. Betting others are in a similar situation.

The lack of Fairy type options in Pokemon Masters is annoying. I know there are not many fairy type specialists but someone like Lillie would make sense. Especially as Hau is already in-game.

The hack checks on the Gen IV GTS needed to be better, at least. I remember receiving some blatantly hacked Pokemon from it and it was annoying since I tried to keep my own collection as free of hacked Pokemon as possible.

I get the devs probably don’t want to add Opal and Bede too soon (Valerie and possibly Diantha are the notable trainers left that can be treated as Fairy users) but Lillie tends to be associated with Alolan Vulpix, which doesn’t become a Fairy-type until it evolves into Ninetales.
