Am I the only one who kinda wish that Jessie and James should have gotten actual Pokémon line-ups? They both feel like adequate Poison and Dark-type trainers, with occasional wild cards. They used to be challenging back in the days, now I swear they aren't posing much of a threat anymore...

Give [back] to Jessie Wobbuffet, Seviper, Yanmega, Gourgeist and Mimikyu.
Give [back] to James Morpeko, Mime Jr. (probably up to Mr. Ryme), Carnivine, Inkay (probably up to Malamar) and Mareanie (probably up to Toxapex).

Oh, and Meowth could use more moves, new moves... except Pay Day, because reasons XD

Come on now... I dunno, I feel like the idea of 2 villainous trainers really faded away as time went on... and I'm kinda surprised that Jessie and James didn't quit Team Rocket and joined whatever new organisation was introduced in the games.
They're kept mainly because they're iconic. There's also an episode which explores why Meowth doesn't have Pay Day. As for the other ideas, I think a) because they don't get as much focus as Ash and co they have a "quality over quantity" approach to their team's characterization, plus they want to show off more of the new Pokemon, and b) none of the Pokemon organizations after Rocket really fit their M.O of being poachers and thieves

Noibat taking 400 candies to evolve in GO. Do we really have to make a relatively hard to get Pokemon so hard to evolve?

Noibat (and Swablu as well) need the same amount of candies as... Meltan. This is just plain ridiculous.

Actually Wailmer and Magikarp need a similar ammount. If people could buy those rainbow colored rare candies it would be less of a hassle.

Meltan is the least annoying since you can open the box a few times a week depending on your luck. But Swablu Noibat and Magikarp appear so rarely that it can take weeks of walking with them as a buddy to earn candies and even that progress is really ****** slow.

Exactly. And add in the fact that it takes that much longer to do if said Pokemon is environmentally specific, as in it only appears in certain regions.

I knew about why Meowth didn't learn Pay Day ;)

My gripe is that Jessie and James should have slowly built a Pokémon team instead of constantly swapping.

One thing I would like to see is Jessie getting an Alolan Moewth and James a Galarian Meowth, mostly for Kantonian Meowth to grow jealous and to get into troubles XD

I remember taking opportunity of events that double catch candy per catch and combining with Pinap berries (thus getting 12 per each catch + the one from releasing). Bad times.

Good thing I've been farming rare candies if this ever happens again (up to 800+ lol)

Detective Pikachu kinda throws this out of the window. If they keep it to a trainer with its Partner Pokémon travelling to world to catch Pokémon, qualifying for the League and stopping a criminal organisation and their various plots, that should be fine.

Yeah the Alolan Meowth official story was odd. Just a bratty suck-up Meowth that snuck into their ranks and ended later with Matori (Giovanni's secretary)
There's also the fact that Jessie and James somehow keep their jobs despite messing it up. There's also a meme about Giovanni stating how both of them are... getting attached to Ash and company... and then there are 4 images of anime screenshots that depict times Team Rocket helped Ash, such as using a boat to get to the next island in Pokémon 2000, and helping Misty and Brock catching Ash and Pikachu before they fall off a breached wall during Entei's battle.

I dunno... to have lasted this long, I'm surprised that they didn't quit Team Rocket to strike on their own as freelancers :p

On a sidenote, for the team-switching thing, imagine if Jessie went with Team Magma and James with Team Aqua... with any possible shenanigans XD

Oh, and you got to love that in the manga (one version at least), James admits his feelings to Jessie, and at the end, they both retire to start a family, with an artwork of a pregnant Jessie ;)

My fear is they're going to whitewash the hell out of it, like literally every other live-action anime adaption from a western production company.

If they're going to do this, they need to do it thousands of miles away from Kanto, because if they take the show there and every citizen is white as snow despite the region literally being based on the real-life Kanto region in Japan, I'm gonna go apesh*t. I'm tired of seeing this happen.

Kalos areas are huge and rely on a few hidden machine moves to get around  I can't even begin to count all of those areas. I always hate having to remember to keep a Fly HM user because of that. Rock Smash is also annoying when you are visiting the Lost Hotel since you forget if you went down the stairs where the breakable walls are.
Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are just as bad with water moves. If it wasn't for the Eon Flute (Mega Latias) when you forgot your flying pokemon then it would be tedious to remember to visit the pokemon centers often.

Charizard Glide, Corviknight Taxi and Eon Flute for transport they are all so much better.

Also the desert Alola (Haina Desert) if i remember correctly where Tapu Bulu was is also nearly impossible difficult to get out of you insist to travel on foot.

The existence of Phione. What's the point of a breedable mythical if all you're going to get is a copy of it inferior in every way? If Phione was an obtainable regular Pokemon in the game and then if you get this super-rare Manaphy I would be like "oh that's a neat little lore/easter egg" (like what they should've done with Carbink and Diancie) but the only way you can get Phione is by getting a Pokemon that's the superior version

When I think about it, Carbink and Diancie having no in-game connection grinds my gears just as much.

What the hell is a "sudden transformation" and how does it possibly differ from evolving? I feel like this was Game Freak deciding at the last minute not to break the "Legendary pokemon don't evolve" rule, which they later realized was actually a great idea and ended up doing it twice in Sun & Moon.

Also if you want a new Manaphy with a more desirable nature then you have to finish Pokemon Ranger 100% each time. I'm glad i never played it. I don't want my 3ds scratched badly by my stylus or damage the stylus itself.

The lack of Ground specialists is something that I find a bit disappointing. There's only 4 I can remember Clay, Giovanni, Bertha, and Hapu and to be honest I often forget Giovanni is a ground specialist given I normally just think of him as the TR boss. I just think there's a lot more that could be explored with that type.

Flying is also a type notably underutilised in terms of major specialists. It's also only had three Gym Leaders (Falkner, Winona, Skyla) and one Elite Four member (Kahili). It's quite unbalanced when you consider we have so many Fighting, Psychic (both have had one major specialist every gen) and Dragon (all regions except Sinnoh) specialists in comparison. I really do hope Gen 9 can introduce another Ground-type Gym Leader since it's desperately in need of another one.

And Dark. It only has Piers and Marnie as Gym Leaders. E4 doesn’t really need another Dark type specialist but Gyms do.

Yeah I would agree. Flying seems a weird type to be underused given the variety of flying types in many regions. Making a specialist seems easier in certain regions than some of the specialists we actually got.

Agreed more Dark type gyms should happen as so many regions don't have one. Plus I generally forget Marnie is a gym leader given she's more a rival for most of the game.

Actually Officer Nanu is a Dark Type trainer so i say the Alola Trial Captains are just a different gym structure. Still Alola Captains only rely on 3 pokemon each.

Alolan Persian Dark Type
Krookodile Ground/Dark
Sableye Ghost/Dark

Nanu is pretty much the first non-E4 Dark-type specialist. You can sorta consider him to be the first Dark-type Gym Leader since Kahunas are kind of classed in the same category as Gyms. Would definitely like Gen 9 to have another Dark-type Gym.
