Things that grind your gears!

Skarmory. So annoying to kill if you don't have Talonflame...

How is it hard to kill?

I'm sure a Raichu using thunder or thunderbolt can beat it easily as well.

Skarmory's defense stat might be high, but its special defense stat isn't very good.

Skarmory is annoying, but isn't hard to kill. Even a fire fang from a banded/scarfed luxray can do enough damage to him

Skarmory. So annoying to kill if you don't have Talonflame...

Charizard can take care of it just as easily, even Gengar, Hydreigon, and others that once had 'not very effective' hits with their STAB is now able to hit it neutrally.

U know what grinds my gears,

My pokemon confused with swagger while the opponent uses double team,
and when it snaps out of confusion, missing around 8 attacks in a row!

Misdreavus has "pearl"-like features on it but is still able to learn it. Corsola has no gems whatsoever and is not made by one, neither are Nosepass and Probopass, but still they are able to learn it. Sooooo, yeah...

In terms of Corsola:
"Corsola is based on coral, possibly red coral, which is used as a precious stone." ~Bulbapedia
"The hard skeleton of red coral branches is naturally matte, but can be polished to a glassy shine." ~Wikipedia (I have got to find better places to find my real life info...)

Since Corsola can also learn Rock Polish, I imagine making the coral on its head shiny enough to reflect light wouldn't be all that hard.

And in terms of Misdreavus, Pearls are made from some of the same chemical compounds as Red Coral, and while Misdreavus can't learn Rock Polish, it does have the advantage of being able to cast many forms of bright light, which if directed properly would most likely be able to create a power gem effect.

Finally, in terms of Nosepass and Probopass, well this might be a little farfetched since this is completely theory based, however here is how I see it:

Nosepass can attract Iron objects to its body. Iron, if polished enough (Rock Polish) could give off a strong light if one strong enough is reflected to it, right? Or perhaps something else, say Electrical Waves charges with this reflecting light? No I don't know how that works, again this is a theory. Of course, Nosepass can learn Dazzling Gleam, so it is capable of shining bright lights...

Probopass's mini-noses are controlled with magnetic force, so I would assume that they are made of some of the same materials that nosepass can naturally attract to them, therefore again with the whole rock polish dazzling gleam thing, and again with the electric waves reflecting thing THEORIES.

So that solves that problem, but of course now we need to pounce on the big issue here... Why can't Aurorus learn Power Gem despite having the qualifications to, those being the gems on its side? I have a theory, but do you have one?

Something annoying about X and Y.
How you had to encounter the legendary birds 10 or 12 times before you could get the chance to catch them in that cave in Azure Bay.

Regular roaming legendaries before these games were annoying enough to have to chase down.

I would argue that the roaming Pokémon in X/Y are a little less annoying to deal with because you only have to track then down ten times and then they settle down. After which they don't run again, they don't cause you to run, and even if you cause them to accidentally faint they eventually respawn at the same spot.

Why Talonflame and no other Pokémon?

Cause Talonflame is the only thing I carry which can do any damage to it XD I haven't trained many Sp.atk'ers like Raichu (Who uses Raichu?), Gengar etc... My point was that it's annoying to kill if you don't have a sp.atk'er or a counter to it. I mentioned Talonflame because it can hurt it with flare blitz.

For me, it's annoying like Rotom-W is.

Is it just me or is it impossible to notice the difference in the shaking grass after a while when you're using a pokeradar.

I'd argue the opposite because chasing them all over the f***Ing map 10-12 times just for them to go to some shitting cave pretending to be Mewtwo was one of the most annoying things I have ever done. Roaming legends are better because you can just chuck that masterball you've been saving and save yourself soooo much trouble. Even without your master ball, you still have to chase them around the map except you can injure them and trap them before they escape which makes it easier to catch them on the next encounter. You're going to spend around the same time chasing it so might as battle as u chase it rather than face the legends who just flee before you can even chuck a ball at them. Yh you can save before if they retreat but u usually save before u encounter them anyway and I'm pretty sure they respawn somewhere if you do accidently kill it.

What really grinds my gears is that after 6 Generations that Dark types still have never had a Gym for themselves. It's not my favorite type but I don't get what's so bad about the typing getting a Gym especially since types like Steel and Fairy got their own Gyms as soon as they were introduced.

It grinds my gears when I have an idea in my head of how big a Pokémon would be in real life, and I realize they are much smaller. I was bummed when I first realized Salamence is only 4'11".

This has bugged me so much as well. And before anyone says that dark type is evil type in Japan and wouldn't be fitting for gym leaders, then explain how three elite four members specialise in the type.

The fact there is still no Poison legend also bugs me to no end.

Agreed, but that brings up a related question: Why do all Gyms have to be an official part of the league? Something that the anime and (probably) the manga hits on is that there are Gyms that aren't part of any league.

Perhaps because Gyms are only technically Gyms if they are legally recognized by the Pokémon League?
This can be shown in the Fighting Dojo in Saffron, which had its Gym Status revoked solely because it lost its Pokémon League recognition (which in turn happened because of the battel between Kiyo and Sabrina, which ended up in Sabrina winning).

It's been occasionally bugging me as well that there hasn't been any dark type gym for six generations now.
I'm surprised it didn't get it's own gym back in gen 2 back when it was a brand new type.
