• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.
  • Hi all. We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.

However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.

We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible

And also don't take nearly a year to find a goal.
Don’t you think people can sometimes be unsure about what they want to do in life? Even sometimes people change careers after spending years working on something.

Most important part is to have an actual plot, start to finish. It's embarrassing to see them make a show and not know what they are actually going to do. This is why a shorter season instead of weekly would be better for cohesive storytelling. Instead of trying to hit the deadlines, they could actually make something worth watching.

Using the game material. Almost every single location in the current gen's region should show up, and so should the important characters, ESPECIALLY THE RIVALS. Nowadays, more people are buying the games than watching the anime. Common sense would indicate that promoting popular game characters instead of COTDs that nobody cares about is a good idea, but I guess that's to much to ask for.

Speaking of rivals, the worst thing they could do in my eyes is not use the in game rivals. The games literally hand them on a silver platter, and they still would rather use OC characters. When I saw Rinto (blatant bootleg Wally), I had to stop watching for a couple weeks. Rivals are some of the few characters in this franchise to have actual character development. USE THEM!

The current gen Pokemon should be prioritized. I think it's a great idea to have some previous gen Pokemon on the team (looking at you XY), but Journeys did too much. Lucario, Dragonite, and Gengar overshadowed the two Galar Pokemon. All of those mons have generations of nostalgia behind them. The new Pokemon deserve this chance to shine. Most Galar Pokemon will now be relegated to background characters for the rest of this franchise's existence.

The only fillers should be training/bonding episodes. That's how you turn a "filler" into a episode that contributes to character development. You can't skip these type of episodes without feeling like something is missing because they actually change the structure of the show. Helping a COTD with their personal issues should be a thing of the past.

The Pokemon anime has an infinite amount of options due to how much material the games have accumulated over the years. Every generation, they have access to tons of new characters and Pokemon at their disposal. I know it's too much to ask for, but I wish they would use some common sense and use the material that has been given to them and expanding upon the unsatisfactory parts. The Pokemon anime should be fleshing out what the game provides.

Yet some people come out of the woods to defend this nonsense writing and missed opportunities. Baffled.

Will never understand the anime being promotion for the games yet they shaft so much from the games, instead of further developing what is already there.

This instead of vague crap like "Pokemon Master." Even as a kid, I noticed that they refused to explain what that is. 25 years later, and they are finally going to touch on what Ash's actual goal is in an 11 episode series. It was hilarious watching people say "these are steps to becoming a Pokemon Master!" and had no response when someone asked what a Pokemon Master is and how those steps contribute to that goal. Embarrassing.

Let's be honest bro, who actually wants to see Nessa, Kabu, Bede, and Melony? Sure, they might be among the most popular Galar characters, but nobody will miss them. Oh, Marnie and Piers? Those two who hit the tops of every character poll? Let's relegate them to COTDs, because that makes a lot of sense!

Whoever makes these decisions is certainly enlightened. Don't market game characters in your media that only exists for marketing. Genius.

Japanese artists went crazy over Kabu's 5 second appearances in Twilight Wings, would him having a full appearance in the anime break the internet or something?
