• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future

I really don't get why some label Scizor, Garchomp and others that got a MegaEvolution "unnecessary". There are only three of them that are broken: MegaBlaziken, MegaGengar, and MegaKangaskhan and even then the first two can be handled by Talonflame & Assault Vest TTar. The rest are manageable.

As for Charizard and Mewtwo having two Megas....well they're popular, and I have no problem with something like that.

Megas gave huge hopes for weaker Pokemon to become a lot more useful. It did just that with Pokemon like Mawile and Banette, but there were still several missed opportunities such as Sableye and Tropius. Pokemon like those two could have utilized a mega evolution much more than Garchomp and Scizor. Garchomp was Gen 4's pseudo, and was already a crazy good Poke. It getting a mega was very unnecessary. I wouldn't say MegaChomp is broken, but I don't see the logic behind boosting his BST from 600 to 700, and his attack stat from 130 to 170.

Like I said, they did a great job of making less-powerful Pokemon like Mawile gain new purposes, but it also made some already powerful Pokemon basically become legendary status.

they didn't bring back vs seeker, other than that not much the only other thing I don't like is that they didn't give raichu either A. the fairy type and/or B. a mega evolution so nothing too serious

My biggest complaint is that most Pokemon who got Mega Evolutions didn't exactly need it. They were powerful enough to start with. Why not more Pokemon with Mawile who actually needed it?

Also the lack of legendary Pokemon upset me, as did forcing you to catch the main legendary.

The worst thing about XY though is that Braxien is now a thing

I don't understand why people are saying this...It's very subjective and a bit of a bash on the fact that Braxien might be some peoples favorite form of any of the starters this gen.

What, just because it didn't stay on 4 leg's it's all the sudden bad? It makes it more unique and different. We didn't need ANOTHER 4 legged fire fox beast thing.

I for one am happy it didn't stay on 4 legs. It was lame when it was on 4 legs. Braxien made me so happy when I seen it and this is the first time i've ever picked the fire starter on my first playthrough.

Really? I absolutely love Braixen's design. It avoided the awkward-teenage phase and went straight to awesome. I'm not so crazy about Delphox, but I think Fennekin and Braixen are some of the coolest combined basic and first stage starters yet.

Honestly, I personally dislike the prices for some of the stuff in the game. I mean, when has a pair of pants ever cost you 180,000 Pokedollars?
Also, there was only 69 new pokemon(assuming the three that were hacked are not confirmed). I was looking foward to a lot of cool pokemon, but all I got was Honedge and Klefki... :/

I dunno, I rather liked that they did less this time. They seemed to focus on quality rather than quantity. I think out of all of the new Pokemon brought out, there are, at most, five Pokemon I don't really care for. Chances are if they had made more, we'd probably end up with more Muks, Ice Creams, Garbage Bags, Gears and other crap.

What I don't like about XY is that you can only ride certain Pokemon in certain areas. you cannot ride your own Pokemon. I was looking forward to being able to ride on my Arcanine everywhere. I was hoping it would be a bit like HG/SS where your lead Pokemon could follow you around. It would tie into the riding your Pokemon thing rather nicely.

And that brings up another thing I dislike: The fact that Pokemon Bank won't be available until the 25th! It should have been done and ready to go with the game, or at the very most, a few weeks after release.

One final thing is how they revealed a little too much of the game prior to release. Some hints and clips are fine, but leave a little mystery there. Why do you think Mew was so popular back in Red/Blue? Because no one knew about it aside from what they read in game! It wasn't until someone found a glitch that people saw that Mew was real.

Mainly the Mega Evolutions. Don't get me wrong, it's a sweet concept and most of the Megas are cool, but two things about them bother me.

  1. There are no Gen V Megas. Even though it was stated before the games release that only Gen VI Pokémon would be incapable of Mega Evolution. Way to get my hopes up for Mega!Bisharp and Mega!Hydreigon.
  2. Megas are supposed to be based somewhat on popularity, despite this, Pokémon such as Medicham and Abomasnow got one, even though from what I've seen, they're unpopular as heck.

The storyline was pretty "meh" too.

Also am I the only one whose noticed every other Gym Leader and E4 member who isn't Valerie, Malva, or Siebold are seriously underrated?

Gen V is still kinda new so I bet next generation they'll have some of those. And Megas are also selected by visuals and game balance.

Or the strongest Pokemon that evolve 3 times; Dragonite, Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence ect.
Goodra is the pseudo legendary of Gen VI.

I personally didn't like the fact that after there is nothing to do. Once you've found the mega stones, done the whole of the battle maison (which took hardly any time at all, took me about 8 hours max) and all the Looker cases... there is nothing to do. Training up Pokemon to level 100 is stupidly hard, with no challenge mode and the E4 not leveling up... No competitions or interesting battles, spare the battle chateu (it would be decent if you could set trainer levels at certain points, fed up of challenenging people with level 15s)

And finally is the problem with the amount of Pokemon in the Kalos dex. I mean, each gen we've had a legendary trio, and a small cute Pokemon (mew, jirachi, celebi ect.) This gen, nothing, (unless the hacked Pokemon are real). Or the strongest Pokemon that evolve 3 times; Dragonite, Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence ect. There were none of these.. to me it just felt like I hadn't found all of the pokemon, and the game was incomplete.

Oh and the fact that Gamefreak released a lot of the Pokemon before the release, so there wasn't much of that awesome feeling of finding a new Pokemon. The only one I made sure I didn't see (but still knew the colour scheme and shape -.-, from stupid people on youtube and pokemon Amie) was Zygarde. And for me, Zygarde did not disappoint.

Awww, but those are some of my favorites. And look at that happy smile. [img139]http://sprites.pokecheck.org/b/584.gif[/img139]

Semi-joke aside (I really do love Vanilluxe and Klingklang, though), I also was okay with the smaller number of new Pokemon. It was new, but new things happen all the time.

Eh, isn't that a good thing that popularity wasn't the only factor in deciding who got a Mega?

Yes, I know that. There was also balance reasons and all that jazz, even though Mega!Aggron completely walls most things. But it's just...

Really hoping for some Megas in whatever Z turns out to be, probably the Mega Stones could be locked to the game in a similar manner to the Griseous Orb. Maybe that's just me getting my hopes up too high for GF to shatter them again. I'm not at all that disappointed with most of the Megas, but then there's some that make me question why.

Prince Manaphy

I like Empoleon too.
Several things I do not like about X and Y:

1) The EXP share. The EXP share just made the game a lot easier, to the point where my weakest Pokemon was ten levels higher than the strongest Gym Leaders. I had to turn off the EXP share, which resulted in my Pokemon at Elite Four level by the time I arrived at the Pokemon League. Which brings me to another thing...

2) The bosses (not including Lysandre) are not as challenging as I thought. For me, I wish that they brought "Hoenn-type" difficulty back in X and Y. Viola and Grant with two Pokemon, then Korrina and Ramos with 3, Clemont and Valerie with 4, and Olympia and Wulfric with 5. Then the Elite Four would have 5 and then the champion with 6. That's what I would do concerning the amount of Pokemon key trainers have. As for level wise, since the EXP share now affects everyone in the party, the Gym Leaders should have a drastically increased level and better moveset. Honestly, the only Gym Leaders that have impressive moveset (IMO) were Korrina and Olympia. I would like to put Clemont (cause he's awesome) with the two, but outside of Volt Switch and Magneton's Sturdy there's nothing really to show. Also the post-game gym/elite/champion matches in the Battle Chateau is less than impressive than the initial matches.

3) The post-game is lacking. There's not much outside of the Battle Chateau, the Looker missions, and the Battle Maisons. And even the trainers can get noticeably repetitive as you continue the matches.

But despite all the negative sides of X and Y that I listed above, it is still a great game and it's a great leap forward than the other predecessors that came and went! I love the game so much and personally the negative things don't bother me that much.

However, it would be an awesome favor if the Pokemon company were to listen to our requests and create a patch where the Gym Leaders, Elite Fours, and the Champion are even tougher (maybe even have matches where all Pokemon are set to level 50 for balanced matches) like they created a patch for the Lumiose glitch. Now THAT would make me love the game even more!

But why create a Patch if most of those thing's will come back for Pokemon Z or Whatever like usual...

It has never been possible to catch the small cute legendary in-game so....

Also don't Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde count as a trio

Meh, I don' really count Goodra as a Psuedo-legendary. It has the lowest BST of them all. Plus it has no immunities whatsoever and it's mainly defensive.

Yeah, I know, with a pathetic 600 BST, it's tied with Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross, Garchomp, and Hydregion as weakest pseudo legendary

Plus it has no immunities whatsoever

Its Sap Sipper ability gives it a grass type immunity

and it's mainly defensive.

So?

Well I read on some wiki that it "has the lowest BST of all legendaries"

No need to be a smartass in your comments :)

All you had to do was say that I'm incorrect.
