Things you disliked about X and Y?

Honestly I barely have any complaints about X and Y. I kinda get why people complain about post game content, but then again I've played this game soooooooo much.

Only two complaints I have:
1. I can't understand why the Gym Leaders and Elite Four members barely have any Pokémon in a game with the most obtainable before beating the story. I don't care about difficulty, but the least they could do is have more Pokémon.

2. Some kind of a short message system on the PSS. I always feel bad when I'll accidently deny a battle/trade, or get a trade and we both have no idea what we're doing. At least some sort of communication I guess, but I understand how cautious Nintendo is with a messaging system

i agree with both....
on the second, i think the solution is easy, they could let us use some emoticons, at least a happy and sad face, so when someone offer me a pokemon i do or don't want i can show my agreement or disagreement with the offer... rather than having these awkward pauses.... main reason i don't trade with strangers is this, cause it takes too long to actually agree on something and most of the times u just wasted your time because u couldn't communicate properly....

I think I would have loved more stuff after the main story like a Battle Frontier or Pokemon World Championship.

To be fair, BW, DP and RS never had these facilities either since we usually get our Battle Frontier/PWT in the third version of the generation.

Yeah, I too thought the 2nd mega-evo was unnecessary. Pikachu also got a different cry. Mewtwo just comes out of nowhere conveniently holding it's stone.

I find Mewtwo's two Mega Evolutions more pointless than Charizard. Mewtwo's were minor improvements although a possible mixed Psychic/Fighting Mewtwo does seem interesting.

Charizard was basically all show and no action for almost 3 generations, now it's very useable with two different possible roles. Insane special sweeper with Sun, or a Fire/Dragon with great physical or special power.

Plus I like that it leaves it open for other Pokémon to have more than one Mega Evolution

I hate how the only new Poison Pokemon are Y exclusive.

I think GameFreak made a few mistakes in this game. Firstly, they focused too much on the beauty of the game that they forgot to put much of a plotline at all. As with many of the above posts, the Exp.Share made things way too easy. I found many trainers who did walkthroughs and their levels were much higher than the trainers and gym leaders they were up against. Customization was a huge step toward making the series more popular. Not to be greedy, but I do wish that if they ever make another game, they do add a few more clothing/hair options. I think that for many people, all they could do after beating the game was IV breeding and training, completing the Looker Bureau, and playing on the Battle Spot. In future games, I hope GameFreak focuses on both looks and plot, even if the release date does take longer. :)

Super training. It's insanely hard if you're left-handed.

The small amount of Pokemon introduced & the noticeably worse designs :/. I mean, look at 2nd gen. They added only 100 different Pokemon but the difference is the majority of them were really cool & memorable.

I don't see how the designs have failed this time around. Each generation has it's excellent, average and suckish designs. It's true that there are Pokemon who don't seem to stand out as much, but the designs only play a part of it. What about BSTs? Movepools? Overall rarity? All these features play apart in how a Pokemon is remembered, but design is always what stands out to people, it seems, not a Pokemon's usability etc.

I really enjoyed the games actually, and unlike most people I like XY's story much more than BW's. I didn't particularly mind the small amount of pokémon either.

The one thing I didn't like is Mega-Evolution. Not really the concept itself, but the way it was handeled. I think it would have been much better if only pokémon that has evolved twice could Mega-evolve (legendaries are exceptions).
I think pokémon like Houndoom, Absol, Mawile, Manectric and more deserved real evolutions, not temporary Mega-evolutions. The probability of them gaining true evolutions now are extremely slim.

Super training. It's insanely hard if you're left-handed.

Allow my first post on this board to be a loud and thunderous "YES" in reply to this post. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get stones for people who are left handed? I literally loathe having to get any sort of mon that needs a stone evolution aside from leaf/water/fire because then I have to play some sort of balloon shooting game that makes me lose all of my points if I get hit once. This isn't fun for me: all it's doing is making me adapt to having to play my 3ds with crisscrossed hands which I am fairly certain is not the intention of the product.

And of course, after 5 or so tries to get a decent enough score to be awarded more than 'u did it good job i guess' rating, it's the wrong stone too |D

Like many others have said: Super Training. I haven't gotten good at it and I gave up in using it.
Unfortunately, ST has items (like stones) that my Pokemon need, but I can't get them because I never got the handle of it :c

I've stated this before but I just genuinely disliked X and Y, I love how people bash the fifth gen for it's linearity and lack of a proper post game but come on this is much worse. The game was extremely simple and easy, I felt that instead of Mega Evolutions they could have spent that time making new Pokemon or giving actual evolutions to Pokemon that actually really needed them. I'm gonna be honest and say that this game felt like it was Fan Service and nothing more. Examples are: Mega Evolutions, they gave Charizard a secondary dragon typing via one of it's Mega Evolutions, the Kanto starters are available, the fact that it's way easier to get shiny Pokemon now, they give you a Lucario in the game, all the meme Easter eggs etc..... I mean they made great strides in terms of the online and the graphics but that's about it. And it's essentially the plot of the Sinnoh games with slight differences. Cyrus wanted to use a Legendary Pokemon to destroy the current galaxy and make a new one. Lysandre wanted to use a Legendary Pokemon to kill everyone and destroy the planet to make a new beautiful world.

I didn't hate the game, I still played it but I feel it's the most flawed Pokemon game in the series.

I originally posted this in the General chat thread but I feel like it can also be used here.

Any Pokemon would be memorable if you slap on abilities like Prankster, Gale Wings and Huge Power. Let's be fair and honest, if any of the new Pokemon had the stats spread and abilities of their previous gens' 'counterparts' you won't be 'remembering' them any time soon. I was going to point out perhaps Aurorus or Pyroar as examples of lesser used Pokemon, until I noticed that one gets Snow Warning and the other gets Moxie as HA.

EDIT: And Contrary Malamar with Superpower. Rock Head Tyrantum with Head Smash. Seriously. This generation is insanely generous.

Something else I really wasn't happy with with these games:
The roller skates being a permanent thing and not something you can turn on/off manually.

I'm not saying I hate the roller skates as a whole, they are a useful choice for getting around quickly, but I wished they made them so you can activate/deactivate them manually.
Now that we can walk/run in 8 directions instead of 4 in this gen, I was hoping to be able to do that without my skates automatically being activated. I shouldn't always have to be turning the dowsing machine on when I want to walk/run in all 8 directions.

on a side note pyroar got screwed over in the abilities department.... moxie is great but useless in a special attacker

I enjoyed mostly everything the game had to offer. I wasn't surprised at the lack of post-game, because we hardly ever get anything for the start of the generation, and we don't really need to ask why anymore.

I think my biggest issues are with the inability to take off our roller-skates to be honest. Oh, and Gamefreaks inability to keep up player interest is a bit annoying, especially with all the resources we have now.

The things I didn't like in Pokémon X and Y are;

-Not being able to take off the roller stakes, I don't like walking slow in the grass.
-The low number of new Pokémon.
-The gen 1 pandering.
-The lack of a Kalos legendary trios, so stupid how the legendary bird took that role.
-How easy the game is, even with the EXP Share off the game is easy as all the gym leader and elite 4 have the same number of Pokémon.
- Diantha being the champion, why her Game Freak? she did nothing at all.
-How bland and boring some of the Gym leaders were
-Mega Evolution
-Charizard new cry
-No new evolution for old Pokémon, Sylveon was the only one.
- Korrina not being the champion, she did more than Diantha ever did.
- How the plot just explode late in the game and end there, really disappointing after how the did Gen 5 story.

To me, Team Flare were very bland. We had this whole introduction of the Mega Evolutions, ways of bringing out a pokemon's full power and potential to levels never seen before, and although Lysandre goes on about Mega Evoluton a bit,Team Flare's plan has nothing to do with this fantastic discovery. Instead their plan was to wreck the world in some way using a legendary pokemon, only to have that plan foiled by the player character using three False Swipe attacks, a Sleep Powder and then 6-to-12 Ultra Balls, just like every other game since the Hoenn games came out. So, yeah, I found that to be dull and disappointing. About the only thing really interesting about Team Flare was that Malva was involved (and even then I struggled to give a cr*p!)

Although not a huge issue, I am a little disappointed that neither Sceptile nor Swampert have had a Mega Evolution (so far). Why should Blaziken be so special?

I really didn't like that Korrina had a Machoke. Seriously, what is this obsession with that evolutionary line? Every major fighting type specialist ever seen in game (Bruno, Chuck, Brawley, Maylene, Marshall and now Korrina) have been shown to use either Machop, Machoke or Machamp at some point. They're officially worse than rock type specialists and their Geodudes (thanks to Grant FINALLY breaking that trend!

Some of the gym leaders were unmemorable (is that a word?) Seriously, I have to keep forgetting what Ramos and Olympia are called and I can't even recall what the last guy's name was as I write this. Seriously, the Ice guy - what the hell is his name? I'm trying to remember, but I'm drawing a blank.

I was very disappointed that the Elite Four did not get full teams after you beat them the first time. That sucked!

Lack of much in the post-game is disappointing as well, and so is the ability to go round anc challenge people rematches, either through vs seeker or registering them in your phone/device/thing.

The main rival taking forever to get a decent number of pokemon was a little annoying, and I was disappointed that Trevor, Tierno and Shauna never got full teams.

Lack of LEGENDARY POKEMON!!!
No way to get Events in GTS...yeah, just screw everyone needing good legends :/

I, for one, was actually very happy with how few legendary pokemon were found in-game. For too long thay have been trying to shove as many lengendaries down our throats as possible (both new and old). I've clocked up many hours on Y version and I've only bothered to catch Yveltal and Zygarde, both of whom are currently sitting somewhere in one of my boxes that are full of the pokemon that I don't use. Zapdos still wanders free and I have little intention of trying to track it down and Mewtwo is still in his little hidey-hole where he can stay until I decide to just go for it and try and complete the pokedex.

So far one of the things that I did not like about X or why is how the Gym Leaders, Elite 4 and Champion did not get stronger a 2nd time around. yes it is very nice to battle them in the Battle Chateau, but honestly you can control their level there and they are weaker using less Pokemon. It would be nice to have a house again that changes the Gym leaders and elite 4 daily with 6 very strong Pokemon :)
