Things you hated about school

Probably mathematics and the waking up early in the morning. I despise having to wake up early in the morning but the only other alternative in college is night classes and I don’t want to do that either so I have to suck it up. My HS also had the option of taking night classes instead of morning but there’s just something about being in school past 6/7 that’s abnormal to me. I also hated participating in the pledge of allegiance and was thankful they didn’t do that in the high school I ended up transferring to.

The tons of unnecessary things you learn in school while you don't learn some vital things. I mean, I've gotta learn the square roots of negative numbers with that imaginary number just called "I" but no one's gonna teach us how to manage the finances of a household? Pretty glad I got cooking class at school though.

Also the fact that your image barely changes during secondary school (we don't have stuff called highschool here, just 6 years elementary, 6 years secondary and optional college/uni after it). I was a pretty silent kid at the beginning of it, but got pretty outgoing cause of friends outside of school at the end of it. Yet, everyone still sees you as the silent one. So I basically developed this "I don't care about anyone or anything at this place" attitude during my last 2 years.

Never got much issues with bullying. I mean, I was quiet but by no means a pushover. Some tried since they somehow thought quiet meant insecure, but they quickly learned that they were better off leaving me alone and letting me do my own thing. College was awesome though, got a fresh start there, no one knew me and everyone was more mature, so I could finally be the outgoing self I actually was at school as well.

Waking up early is something I don't miss either, but I never had the option to take night classes in high school. Now, I do agree that it can feel weird being in a school past six o' clock at night, but at the same time I'm such a night owl that I really don't mind.

That said, I did take a few night classes during my community college/university years. I didn't really mind them too much, but there was a printscreening class that I took in uni a few years ago that had me staying until almost 11 at night because of all the lengthy processes and waiting around required. The class started at 6. Yeah.

Looking back on my whole academic experience I'd say the one thing I hated the most was math classes. Mainly classes that involved theoretical mathematics, something I'll wont use on a regular basis.

There is one other thing about school that I don't necessarily hate but rather regret. I regret not participating in any clubs or extracurricular activities. I was an overweight kid more concerned about playing video games than other things.

I hated forced volunteering in one of my classes in senior year. The whole point of volunteering is that you do it out of your own volition so the fact that my senior studies class required you to do that as part of the curriculum was stupid. We were told that the class would be about getting us ready for college so how does volunteering at the local elementary school help us?

I never had to do that but then again I probably wouldn’t be able to do it because by senior year I was completely drained of life from all of the bullying and the fact no one would help me with this issue or do anything other than keep saying it was all my fault.

Definitely didn’t like waking up early. I had my share of lost sleep, but I still tried to make sure I slept every night. I don’t know how some students can manage all-nighters to study or work on their papers

And at times I found it difficult to establish friendships with other students. At lunch for example, I would sit next to others and try to make conversation. They would respond, but they didn't talk much or add much. I just assumed it wasn't the best topic or time, that they had their own friends that they preferred talking to, or they were too occupied with their own things.

It’s natural to have regrets, but hey, school is just one small part of life. Now that you’re older, you have more freedom and probably have a better idea of the things you’d like to do. On the other hand, I’ve found myself participating in certain activities, and then I think, “why am I here/why am I doing this?” There were a number of things I pushed myself to do just because I thought it would be good to have the experience and ultimately ended up seeming like a waste of time.

I classify them as regrets because by not participating in anything I dont have any fond memories of school.

I see. Well, school isn’t necessarily an ideal place for fond memories for everyone. At least what I’ve been told, getting through your education comes first. Anything else, while may be nice to have, is secondary, unless if maybe you already had plans for a career in something like sports. I was also often told to be careful that if I were involved in any extracurriculars, I’d have to make sure they don’t interfere with my studies. I did also play my share of video games throughout school, which I felt were helpful to balance work or be a distraction from things that bothered me. Just putting some thoughts out there.

I just don't understand how some people can just be up and running at 6:00 AM in the morning. Every day after school I'd have a crapton of homework to do, combined with studying for tests, and about a 2 hour practice. I find myself staying up till 11 or 12 on average, and while some people consider that good sleep, to be frank I feel like the average adolescent needs more.

I hated all those writings and homework and exams too. I'm glad that I found writing service by the link to save my time. Their specialists helped me to get good grades in English and I still use their help in college. They are pro in writing.

Seriously, high school ruined my entire life and sometimes I wonder if my life would have been better if I had jus5 dropped out and gotten a GED because it’s not like actually graduating from high school helped me or improved my life. We had to do mandatory senior projects of our own choosing and the teacher I had didn’t really help me or interact with me for more than a few minutes on the days when everyone had to go to their assigned teacher’s room to show them their progress and discuss things. My senior year the teacher supervising my project didn’t even tell me when I had to have it done by or the date to present it. He didn’t even ask me to come see him throughout the year in between the days students had to meet to discuss their projects even though other students had their teachers checking in on their progress more often. And we had three years to prepare and complete our projects and I had little help from the man that was supposed to be helping me be prepared to present it. On top of that I was punished for “pretending” to not know anything about the due date and day of presentation when it was the truth!

If there's one thing I hate about school now is how it continues to haunt my dreams. Said dreams usually involve me being in a classroom, forgetting to do homework, or taking a test.

Whenever I have a dream like this I've trained myself to be aware of I how dont belong here anymore. So then I usually force myself to wake up.

Tell me about it. I have dreams where I'm sent back to high school after finishing university and doing poorly at it.

I also have dreams where I get low test grades.

I hated homework with a passion. I always thought it was stupid because you spend like 7 hours at school learning and then have to go home and do more schoolwork. It was especially annoying for me because in middle school and high school I was involved in after school sports, so homework cut into my free time. :[

Constantly moving schedules. If I taught my college classes with such a fickle schedule, I would get an earful from my dean. The uncertainty of the schedule means you can't study ahead and front load your work.

I still hate homework and exams. I'm bad at writing but I found reliable writing service by the link with pro writers. These guys helped me to get the highest score in the class and I always use their help in writing. Sometimes it's better to use a little help of professionals to get good grades and save time.
