Third type

I haven't seen any similar topic so...

There are pokemons that have fetures that make think that it is a "type's name" pokemon, but not.

Example: Gyarados clearly has dragon features .So, if pokemon would have third type ,it would be a Dragon type.

What do you say about it?

Same with Gligar. It's a flying/Ground type but it seems more like a poison type. I mean it's a Scorpion...and they ARE motsly poisonous....and also his purple collour, actually his whole design makes it look like a poison type.

Having third types would be hard because there'd be many weaknesses and strengths that countered each other and to calculate them would ... suck.

Gyarados shouldnt be a flying type in the first place!
BUT it would be a cool idea cos the gligar thing seems to work, but again gligar shouldnt have the groung type. i think it was put in to get rid of the electric weakness!
Back on topic now, i think heracross would be suited for a third type. this is because in the series, they fly all the time and it makes me sooooo jelous! and even on colesseum when it gets hit, it flys back into position!

though it could be possible, it is safe to say that it probably wont happen cos of all the complications, like even more weaknesses and resistants etc.......

They are already flying types.......Dustox and Beedrill would also be flying types.....

I dont say that it's good if pkmn would have three types, actually it would be very complicated and stupid......

Have any of you read Origin of Storms? It has the concept of secondary types, other hidden types that are not listed as its type, but influence the Pokemon nonetheless. For example, most Glalies could be said to have Dark as a secondary type.
Anyway, triple type is one of the worst ideas in practice. In principle it might sound cool, but it would be fiendishly confusing.

scizor is not flying hence its triple weakness ot fire
charizard would, i think, have dragon as a third type, not that a third type is a good idea on the whole
also i might give glalie dark, or rock as its third type, to me the blackness in its icy body looks more like obsidian
and i think zubat-crobat would have dark as their 3rd type

Charizard should have Dragon as its third type. No water weakness, no Electric weakness, and TRIPLE resistance from Grass-type attacks.

Ditto, then it'll be only doomed to rock(or dragon, unless it got dragon claw).

Scizor doesn't use his wings for flying so he shouldn't be a flying type ;)

I'm gone, bye.
Lati@s should be dragon, psychic and flying

flygon looks like it should be a flying type but i guess levitate takes care of that, and for some reason, fearow atrikes me like it should be part dark

Vibrava, Flygon, and possibly Trapinch should all be Bug type. However, I don't think that triple types would be a plausible idea in the games, things are confusing enough as it is trying to figure out damage.

Okay, let's see...So if Gyarados was Flying/Water/Dragon, two of its types will be weak to Electric, one resistant to it. So how the hell would that work out? It would be WAY too confusing.

The water/flying part would have a 4x weakness, but the dragon-type part would cut it in half, making it the damage multiplier 2.

Anyways, I don't like the idea of triple types. Some pokémon would get annihilated way too easily w/ 8x weaknesses.

Charizard should have Dragon as its third type. No water weakness, no Electric weakness, and TRIPLE resistance from Grass-type attacks.

Which is exactly why it shouldn't have Dragon as a third type. This is why I only favor tripletyping for Legendaries. They're special enough. This way it wouldn't be so hard to figure out the damage multipliers for all Pokemon since it would only apply to a few.

Lugia: Psychic/Flying/Water (doubles Electric weakness, Rock does neutral damage; still weak to Dark and Ghost; now strong against Ground and Fire; gets STAB on Water attacks)

Doesn't unduly strengthen or weaken his abilities.

It's fun to consider this, but I agree with the majority that tripletyping would be more trouble than it's worth in the games. If it did exist I would want it to be on Legendaries only. Opens up a whole new branch of possible Legendaries...

Lati@s should be dragon, psychic and flying

They don't need the Flying type; they're already "honorary flying types" because of Levitate. Besides, don't they get Aerial Ace?

I wish they would invent another type in the future, as Nintendo disclosed that they did not have any new types in Diamond and Pearl. Something like Lengendary type. No weakness to anything. So it might result as:

;250; weak against water, now no longer

weak against rock x4, now only x2

But that might be off topic already...

All Shadow Pokemon should have a dark type, and Sudowoodo and Bonsly should be part Grass type too, especially Bonsly the Bonsai tree. Rock sounds totally stupid. Like Misty said in the god-knows-which episode.
