this 99% movement

^ A flat tax rate for all means that poorer people must pay a greater percentage of their income in order for the treasury to bring in the same amount of money every year.

They Should have Made it the 98% Movement.

98% on the lowering of taxes.
1% on the rich.
1% who obviously dont give a F*ck about it.

Rich people actually have hate on taxes too, they shouldn't really get this on them, it would just piss them off to the point where they waste millions of dollars on suing the Magazine.

All those crazy hippies who are just too darn lazy to get a job, right guys? And those poor rich people! They worked hard for their disgustingly absurd amounts of money, amirite? Shame on those bums for wanting government corporate buyouts to end! Shame!

Who's dar man
Though its grown to include thousands of idiots who are protesting virtually every issue they have, ranging from healthcare to student loans. While a lot of their issues are legitimate a good portion of the protesters don't even know what they're protesting.

sounds to me like alot of protests...

What I don't really understand is why this didn't happen earlier.

because like it or not alot of the time in this world, money=power

No, what I mean is, why didn't Americans start protesting before? Occupy Wall Street wasn't the first case, there were some scattered protests before it (although the media wasn't reporting them much for some reason), but generally speaking it took its sweet time to materialize.

Shadow of nothing
The reason that America never protested before was because we never really thought about it. I mean, yeah we knew somewhere that this was going on, but untilt the recent financal downturn it wasn't that big of a deal. Now however with a large amount of attention on the finnancial sector, and the people running it, the population is being show just how broken our system is.

Paris Hilton is rich, she has never lifted a finger (...to do work  ) to earn her fortune. Most others are only rich because inherited a lot of money or had an advantageous upbringing to start with. Why should how hard your parents worked have any bearing on whether you deserve to be rich?

Inheritance is taxed heavily.
Income tax is totally seperate.
Celebrities only have money because the '99%' cares too much about their worthless lives.

Better luck next time.

Um. When have the 99% ever given a cent to any celebrity 'famous for being famous' celebrity?

You have dismissed my post without making any effort to understand what I was trying to say. I was merely debunking the myth that every rich person has earned the money they have through 'hard work', which seems to be a phrased pushed a lot.

Just as much as people without a lot of money are not all lazy good-for-nothing leeches.

Huh. I didn't think claiming royalties on paparazzi photographs and your name on a bottle of perfume counted as 'hard work', but ok. Shame on you lazy folk for wanting to take money from these studious people!

That is true, much of it through inheritance, which is why we do have a stiff inheritance tax. On the other hand I would say there are FAR more in the lower classes who live off the Government as lazy good for nothing leaches.

Of course there are BigLutz, there's 99% of them ;)

You realize that 99% does include millionaires right? You know the 99% thing is a bit ironic, not only do Americans not support how they want to change this country. But these idiots have had their laptops and other high priced items stolen, and then they have the audacity to complain about their stuff being taken. I guess these Socialists are learning a valuable life lesson, you always look like the "1%" to someone else.
