lets say you have a cartride of any 3rd gen game and you use a gameshark/action replay on it to get a pkmn by cheating and you trade that pkmn to a completely non-cheat device hacked game would it turn the non-cheat device hacked game in to an altered game pak

In short, yes. It will officially mark that game pak forever, unless you restart. I'm not too sure on the restart thing though.

Factory Reseting it will completly erase everything, including any cheat history. To Factory Reset, press Select + Up + B at the title screen.

Exactly how would it mark the game? I've never used cheating devices on my emerald but have traded a cheated Jirachi and Celebi from another game, yet nothing's happened and the pokémon are fully functional.

But how? As long as you don't use the cheated pokémon isn't there no way for them to find out? Or do they have some computer that can analyze your game and see if it's been altered?

That seems a bit... I can understand for max stats, but cheating to get a Pokemon that is unavailble *coughMewcough* seems slightly odd.
