I can't say I'm thankful for the deletion of all posts in that thread since I went there only once or twice, but from what I read, it was growing into a spam-fest and people apparently didn't even skim-read the first post.

Why did a mod delete it? Because people, including you, could not follow the rules listed in the thread.
