I read that there is two sections to your trainer ID. So what if you traded a yellow pikachu to Gold, then restarted it. You then have the exact same ID as the other one. What if you traded that pikachu back to yellow, would there be two Pikachus following you

No, because your trainer ID changes when you start a new game. So you'd have two Pikachu's, one following you arround.

And besides, as soon as you trade a Pikachu out of Yellow, when you trade it back it no longer follows you around (even if it has your ID).

Actually if you trade your pikachu back from whatever it will still follow you. I should know as I've traded pikachu to silver to get surf on it with the monster brain. I've also used the GS clone glitch. When you get 2 of the same pikachu, if one faints and is at the top of the list, the pika behind you dissappears. However if you switch it with the pikaclone the pikachu wil reappear after 1 step.

The Pikachus won't line up in single file, either. The sprites would overlap.

Wow, good to know! I never tried to trade Pika to Gold/Silver. *looks for old games*

I tried it, and it works. Although the two Pikachu thing doesn't, but I didn't expect it to in the first place .

But the trading it back and forth thing works. You can trade it to GSC (and GSC only) and back and it will still follow you. It didn't work with Red or Blue.
