how do you use the tickets to get to the special islands? I have all three but don't know how to use them... they go into my key items spot and I don't know what to do with them after that...

If they are legitimate Tickets received from Nintendo events, go to Lilycove Harbor and talk to the lady in front of the ship. A menu will appear allowing you to select any island your have a Ticket for, as well as Slateport and the Battle Frontier.

If you cheated for these tickets, post for help on an AR board.
