Chapter 1:
第1 章
Let’s Go Yuki and Sera!!
Go Forward to Destiny, Pokemon, And Power!!!

運命に先に行きなさい、 Pokemon 、 そして力!!!

The T.V. blared through a darkened house as a silver haired teen sat watching it, a teacup in his hand. “So, it’s starting. What do you think of this year Yuuki?” He placed the teacup on the table and turned to face a green haired teen on a recliner to his left. “ We have over one hundred this year. Yet, only three from Little Root Town. Surprising.”

“Well, Steven, I hope we get some good trainers this year. Last year’s was… disappointing.” The green haired teen smiled, putting the teacup to his lips. “All that work, and you got nothing.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A boy grabbed his hair from beneath his green hat and began to roar. “WAKE UP, COME ON SERA, WAKE UP, AND GET OUT HERE!” It was the only noise that morning, except for the cries of Pokemon outside of the town’s borders. “I’M NOT WAITING FOREVER!!” He flung his fist at the door as he finished his sentence. He made a noise and shoved this other hand into his pocket.
“Why am I bothering?” He asked, unzipping his green jacket. “I should start without her. The door flew open as a girl exited, pushing dark red hair behind her, and sent the boy flying from the porch. “Darn it, Sera. I will say this though, nice bushes.”
“Because I know your not a pervert, I’ll take it you mean the shrubbery.” The girl smiled, bending down to face him, her purple eyes looking into his green eyes. She put her hands in light grey gloves before she helped him up.
“Who thinks I’m a pervert? I’ll smash their face in.” He smiled and pushed his fists together.
“Relax.” She smiled, patting the boy on the head, “I know why you’re here, and today’s that day. Come on, Baka-san!”
“YUKI! FOR THE LAST TIME MY NAME IS YUKI!” He glared at her as she started walking.
“Come on Baka-san. We’re gonna be late.” She sneered, waving her hand in the air.
“You’re not one to talk to be about being late.” He spat, following behind her. ‘I swear, that girls gonna be the early death of me…’
The two walked silently towards the laboratory, although they knew the chances of the professor being there was slim, because he preferred his field work to lab work. The passed a house-sized burned patch of ground on their way. Their eyes didn’t even turn to it, it was a familiar sight to the towns people, and was an avoided topic of conversation.
They stepped to the front gates of Professor Birch’s lab. After passing several trees not native to the area, they came upon the lab. Despite the elaborate garden and surrounding fences, it was no different from the other buildings in town. Yuki jiggled the doorknob and it stuck fast. “What the…?” He shook it again and it creaked open. “That’s not… why wouldn’t the Professor… Even when he’s here the door is locked…”
The pair walked in quietly. “Professor Birch… It’s Yuki and Sera, were here for the Pokemon you promised us.” Yuki sang as Sera felt for the light switch. She flipped it, and the large interior was filled with a glowing florescent light. The two looked around. “ I don’t see any one…” Sera tapped him on the shoulder and pointed down. The bloody body of the labs only assistant lay on the floor. Dead.
“Sera…”
“Yeah…”
“On the count of three”
“Three!”
The two stormed, screaming from the Laboratory, and outside the town boundaries with out thinking. They stopped only after they were under a large canopied tree. “Good,” she stopped to take a breather. “What was that?” Sera finally gasped.
“I don’t know, but who would want to attack an assistant?” Yuki panted, grabbing hold of a low hung branch. “It’s not like the lab had any top secrets or anything.”
“If it had Top Secrets, would we know about them?”
“MIGHT!!” A voice, gruff and malevolent called out from behind them.
“Sera, was… Was that you?” Yuki asked, looking around, becoming more freaked by the second.
“I was about to ask you the same question…” Sera said, walking closer to Yuki. That’s when they heard the growl behind them. They turned slowly.
A golden Mightyena stood near the two kids, a hungry look in its eyes, blood on its snout.
“Sera!!” Yuki yelled, fainting into his friend’s arms. The Golden beast leapt at them as Sera tightened her grip on her friend.
“Onix, Go, Iron Tail!” A commanding female voice yelled out. The stone-gray Pokemon appeared in front of the Pokemonles children. The golden Mightyena was sent flying, and was then engulfed in the light of a pokeball. “A shining Pokemon. Lucky me.” The girl said walking over to Yuki and Sera. "He fainted." She said looking at Yuki, moving a small chunk of blonde hair from in front of her eyes. "Then he won’t mind that I'll take this." She smiled, lifting the hat from his head. “Let’s go Onix, He's waiting for us." The pair disappeared into the fog of the early noon.
Sera looked down at her fainted friend. “Aren’t boys supposed to be the strong ones?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yuki opened his eyes several hours later, under the florescent lights of the laboratory. “Hat… WHERE’S MY HAT?!?!”

“Baka-san is awake.” Sera smiled walking into the room. “Gave me quite a scare, passing out like that.” ‘It’s not the first time I’ve seen it happen though…’

“Sh… Shut up.” He said, landing back on the tile floors. “My point is, where’s my hat?”

“That girl took it, the one who saved us.” She said, walking over to him “Besides, I always wondered why you hid such a nice shade of amber hair under that stupid hat.” She said, moving her fingers through it.

“I don’t like my hair color, I don’t know why, it just seems like bad things are going happen when people can see my hair.” He swatted her hand away from his hair.

“Then just shave it.” A burly bearded man laughed, walking leisurely into the room. “I want to thank you two again, if you hadn’t run screaming, no one would have found my assistant, and he would have died of blood loss. I have to think of someway to repay you.”

“POKEMON!!!” Yuki yelled, getting up and looking at the professor. “Today’s the day, we passed our tests, we can get our Pokemon, and you promised us!”

"Yuki lacks the suability genes, but he IS right sir, we officially get our trainer licenses today.”

“I was hoping you two had forgotten.” He said, pulling two trainer cards from his pocket. “Congratulations, welcome to the world of Pokemon Training.”

The two kids looked at each other and smiled. “Now, where are our Pokemon? You can’t say we've joined the world of Pokemon Trainers until we get our Pokemon.”

The professor emptied his bag onto the table Yuki was laying on minutes before. Pushing aside the papers, notebooks, and other objects, three pokeballs emerged. “Torchic, Mudkip, Treecko, take your pick. But be careful, once you pick, you cannot go back.”

“Good thing too. I’d hate to screw up this early. Oh well, let’s see where these choices lead us, Sera.” Yuki said, reaching his hand for Mudkip’s pokeball. “I, no, We can’t go back now. But I promised I wouldn’t anyway. Let’s go!”

The two ran from the lab, followed by the professor. He stopped as they left the town boundaries, and was joined by a woman with dark black hair. “Their gone, aren’t they?” she asked.

“Yes. And, It may be best for them. If Yuki were here much longer, he might start to ask questions about that.”

The woman nodded. “About your assistant. You told the kids… did you tell them he was dead?”

“I said he could have died. After all, he wasn’t attacked by a Pokemon or anything. He was killed by a human. The slash marks are from a dagger alright.” He grimaced. A large shadow leapt forth from the trees near the lab, hovered for a moment, observing the two, and then flew off.

The pair of new trainers stopped running when they could no longer see the town. Sera turned around to face the town. “Well Yuki, Its just like you said, we cant turn back now!”

“You think I would lie about stuff like that?” he smiled. “If we turn back that would make us weaklings, like were running back to mommy.”

”Whatever.” Sera replied, stepping back. She tripped over a rouge tree branch. “Ah! Damnit! Yuki, I think I twisted my ankle.”

“Well, we cant go back now, can we?”

“SO, I’M JUST GONNA SUFFER HERE?”

“Yup.” He laughed, kneeling to face her. “I’ll carry you to Oldale. I think there’s a hospital there… If not…”

“If not?”

“I’ll leave you to die in a hollowed out tree or something.”

“I will kill you in your sleep.” Sera hissed. Yuki lifted her up and started walking.

“You’re going on a diet when where done with this.” He laughed.

~~~~~
Yuki stared out of a second story window as he watched the sun go down. “Damnit, We wasted the whole damn day taking you to the hospital.” He sighed, turning to face Sera. “You owe me.” He grinned.
“Seeing you smile like that…” She shivered. She opened her mouth the start talking again as the door opened up and a blonde girl in an all while outfit entered, pushing a cart full of food.
“I thought you kids might be hungry, so I asked the cafeteria to cook you up something good.” She smiled placing two tin-foil covered plates on the bedside table.
“Wait. Your that girl who saved us!” Sera yelled. The girl stopped.
“That means… SHE’S THE CHICK THAT STOLE MY HAT!!” Yuki yelled, leaping up.
“Now now, little boy, just relax.” She giggled.
“Relax THIS!” He yelled, running after her. The girl stepped to the side, causing Yuki to run into the wall.
“Thanks for the hat boy.” She smiled, walking for the window, opening it. “But I have to go.” She leapt from the open window, into a waiting car, with a green haired teen driving. “LATER KIDDIES!” She yelled, as the car disappeared down the street.
Yuki stared out the window. “Well, I’ll be damned… our first day as trainers, and were worse off then most trainers after a year. We’re falling apart at the seams.”
“And It doesn’t help you chased a nurse out the window either.”
“I don’t thing she was a nurse. Just an evil, hell-sent witch out to steal peoples hats.” He shoved his head out the window. “I’LL GET YOU ONE DAY YOU DIRTY HAT STEALING WITCH!!”
This is really improved, WRP. VERY much so. I really enjoyed this and the change you made on the fact that the assistant died from a human...makes it more interesting. Your description could improve a bit, but I like what you've changed...and I already love [spoil]Yuuki[/spoil], even though he hasn't really made an appearance. ^^ The green hair just rocks it for me, considering Ryuhou has green hair. <3
Keep up the good work, WRP. *hugs*
