Time and Date Events

I hope they use the time and date on the DS to add certain things like how Clafairy appears at Mt. Moon every Monday at 5pm in S/G/C.

Maybe something like during December, houses put Wreaths on there doors and stuff like that.

Definately some yearly events. I'd like to see seasons like in Animal Crossing. I suppose celebrations that happen once a year would be good, like Christmas, New Years Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, your birthday etc. At Christmas time, or on your birthday, your mother in the game gives you a Master Ball or Lucky Egg something. And like in AC, you should get lectured for trying to change the time/date.

seeing as this is a japanese game... Xmas, thanksgiving, and possibly halloween wouldn't really be in the game... they may substitute a similar but different holiday for halloween and maybe a "toy day" for xmas... but thanksgiving is doubtful to be there.

All those holidays were in Animal Crossing. Your point?

animal crossing has done a bit of renaming for those holidays.... at least that's how it was for my gamecube version. My point is that if they did add them they'd be renamed, moved, etc.

This is very dumb but every Saturday morning at 10:00 you can check the tv and it will say that Pokemon is on. I know it's a Japanese game, but whatever...

Maybe during duck season, there could be a contest where you try to catch the biggest Psyduck and the prize you win could be a Sharp Beak. During deer hunting season you try to catch the biggest Stantler.

Annual Tournaments would be sweet, and I love to see the bug catching contest return.

Japanese people celebrate Christmas (which they call Kurisumasu). They also celebrate a form of Halloween. I don't think they do Thanksgiving, though.

Holidays would be cool! On Halloween ghost pokemon could be in towns and on rare occasions you could go in someones house, talk to them and get a rare candy. On christmas your mom could get you giant dolls for secret bases or items. Special pokemon could come out on holidays maybe. They need to bring back the morning-day-night thing though.

Like I stated already in the Night Day discussion, if they has time in this game, it will HAVE to use the NDS(Nintendo DS System), other wise there is no way to use time. The GBA cart was ran off a watch battery, in this case, if they was to try it with the DS cart they would fail.

On-Topic: I was thinking maybe if they added events, they could do something like Mother's Day and Father's Day where they have parades in the towns.

On the second Saturday of every month, there would be a Flower Show within the balmy southern parts of the region, where you would be able to buy rare Berries that you cannot acquire anywhere else. In addition, for a rather hefty price, you can purchase yourself a strip of loamy dirt and some sun-lamps so that you could maintain some Berry growth within the privacy of your own Secret Base. In addition, you get to fight against Gardeners and Aroma Ladies until you get up to Grange Leader Bob, who gives you a tough match with his Grass/Fire team. Afterwards, you get one of either a rare Grass or a rare Fire Pokemon - but only one! To get the other one you need to trade.

In addition, every so often as determined by random number generation, there will be some cosmic activity in the night skies, and the local observatory would invite everyone and anyone to bring their blankets and equipment to watch the event unravel. Sometimes it'll be a meteor shower, othertimes it might be a comet, and at even other times you'll get a solar flare. Depending on the event, you can expect prolific use of Rock, Ice, Steel, and Fire types when you fight against some of the trainers there, in particular you'll see several Solrock, Lunatone, Magneton, Magcargo, and others yet. You'll be able to find several evolution stones, Everstones, and Star Pieces/Stardust in the field, but again these events are sporadic so make sure you scoop up all you can get from the ground.

the japanese celebrate christmas, valentine's day twice(once for boys and once for girls) 14th feb and 10th march unless i my memory is rigged and they celebrate their own type of halloween somewhere in february.

i'd like to see some weekly things on though, and maybe even monthly competitions and such things, adds much more interest. maybe the sales at the marts could be done time-based not randomly and maybe even special pokemon hunts and such stuff.

How about a berry-picking competition? or berry blending one?
the one who picks most or the best type of berries wins? - that would be nice too

It would be cool having time and day events, maybe at 6pm when the tide comes in you could catch more shell type pokemon when you use your fishing rod on the edge of the beach and then less shell and more fish pokemon in the day. Maybe even have an event like Mirage Island on R/S/E where if your pokemon have certain EV's an island will appear only for 7 days with Jirachi on (hopes he's in D/P hee hee). Seasonal clock where certain types of Pokemon migrate to that region or have outbreaks on routes like R/S/E too.

I go through all that stuff on FFXI by getting free items (such as a belt that turns you into a small midget Mandragora lmao) depending on the seasons. Leave these ideas to a Pokemon MMORPG.

By the way, Game Play Idea thread, please?

Yeah, Christmas is almost universal, so it could be, i like the idea, that time really flows (not just day/night) and you get rain, snow, hot days, i mean season changes. The name of celebrations are not really important, the game could have their special ones (like anual tournaments, etc).

Halloween is acturally western holiday's eve, the actural holiday is All Saints Day, which occurs Nov. 1. The Japaness equivalint would be Obon week in August. and Thanksgiving is exclusivly american.

Animal Crossing was a Japanese game which was translated to english, but anyway the Gamecube version had Halloween, Christmas etc. The Pokemon anime is Japanese and had several christmas episodes so Christmas could be added.
Thanksgiving is only American so it should not be added since this game is world wide.
