Note: This RP takes place after “Control Freaks Contest Royal” and “Titans: Red War” and is set in the Teen Titans universe (the original animated series, not Teen Titans Go). It is not necessary that you played/read either of these or watched the show, in order for you to play in this RP, but you may find it helpful where returning character's back-stories and such are concerned.
Quick Time-line Notes:
- Our story takes place in Chromium City, where a Teen Titans tower was constructed to combat higher crime rates. An initial team of heroes moved in and were immediately confronted by Control Freak. He however, was killed at the end of “Contest Royal”, by a newly initiated Red Lantern, formerly known as Wonder Boy. (At this point the mayor of Chromium City is presumed dead as well, having been kidnapped and hidden by Control Freak.)
- Two month later, in “Red War”, the broken team of heroes, and well as few new initiates, struggled to keep control of crime in the city. They soon learned the Red Lantern (aka Wonder Boy) had returned, and was now working for a rich and powerful super-villainess. (Meanwhile, Reverend Cory N. Airy, narrowly beat out Tyana Bell in the mayoral elections.)
- And our story for this RP opens 2 months after that.

Plot:
One month ago. . .
11:48 pm
A lone figure stood over a grave in the dark cemetery. Though shrouded in a red-brown cloak, his body, face, legs, and arms are clearly bandaged. Only his eyes and withered brown hands were exposed, one hand clutching a shovel like a staff. A multicolor woven wool and leather bag was slung over his shoulder.
He dropped the shovel handle into the crux of his elbow and reached into the bandages around his chest, withdrawing a burner cellphone. Unlocking it, he was greeted with a familiar chat app, and a new message had already arrived:
Cyber_Freak: You're there. You're going to preform the ritual now, right?
DonutLord: I got to dig up your body first. You're not just going to pop out of the ground like in the movies.
Cyber_Freak: His body. As soon as he uploaded me to the internet I became a singularity, my own entity, with access to all the information on the net. I'm practically a god now!
DonutLord: Then isn't he a threat to your superiority?
Cyber_Freak: I think it's clear I'm the superior being. But there's also just certain things one needs a flesh avatar for.
DonutLord: You think he's gonna put up with that crap?
Cyber_Freak: Of course he is. He created me to exceed his human limitations. And I have done it beautifully.
Amanuma tapped a button, turning off the phone screen and slipped it back inside his bandages, ignoring the buzz as Cyber Freak sent him another message. He grabbed ahold of the shovel and took a couple steps back, then thrust the blade into the dirt.
3:24 am
Amanuma pried his fingers under the lid of the extra wide coffin, cracking it open. Seeing the distorted decaying corpse, he was really glad he didn't need to breath anymore, with his lungs not even being in his body anymore anyways. Unfortunately he did have to touch it, as he couldn't resurrect Control Freak until he'd healed his body. Gingery he placed his leathery hands on the dead man's heavily decayed hands and face. Gross. Touching the man when he was freshly dead had been bad enough (as he had checked Control Freak's pulse to confirm his death), and this was a hundred, or maybe a thousand, times worse. But he needed to focus. Summoning the magical power that coursed through his body, he forced it into the corpse, enveloping it in a blue-green glow. The cuts stitched themselves back together, the dents in his skull popped back out, and the decay-withered flesh plumped, changing to a much healthier color.
When he was satisfied that the body was now sustainable, Amanuma stepped back and opened his bag. He drew out a variety of ritual items, including some salts, chalk, and his mallow green wand. He didn't need it for most spells, but this was pretty much the most difficult spell he knew. Luckily, for Control Freak, he hadn't destroyed it back when he stole it and some other precious things from the Titans (this event took place during “Control Freaks Contest Royal” and does not effect new players/characters).
4:16 am
Lightning streaked across the sky followed by a crack of thunder. Lightly, it began to drizzle. Amanuma was unsure if this was a coincidence or if the massive discharge of his water aligned magic had effected the local weather, but he carried on with the ritual regardless, chanting loudly.
Nearly drained, he held his wand to the heavens as another thunderous boom cracked the sky, chanting the final line, before aiming the wand down at the body. A massive burst of sparkling blue-green energy poured over the body, and Control Freak opened his eyes for the first time in 3 months.
4:19 am
Amanuma slipped his wand back into his bandages, and climbed out of the grave using his shovel as support. He was exhausted. Then he reached into his multicolored satchel and withdrew a clean change of oversized clothes, tossing them down to Control Freak, “Get dressed. Your. . . I don't know. . . son, protege, brain child, version two-point-Oh, wants to talk to you.”
“Who?” mumbled Control Freak, still clearly overwhelmed by everything that had happened. His triumph, his death, his resurrection, and whatever had happened in-between. Ama himself had no memories of an afterlife. Control Freak stared at the clean clothes as though he didn't remember how to get dressed.
The cell phone buzzed again, and Amanuma finally pulled it out, ignoring the earlier messages, he read the latest:
Cyber_Freak: Give him the burner.
DonutLord: Sure. Btw, where the f--k are you watching us from?
Cyber_Freak: Turn around.
Uncomfortably, Amanuma shifted his body, hoping he wasn't about to find a fan-boy stalker with a camcorder. Instead he saw nothing. Something Cyber Freak seemed to pick up on, and the phone buzzed once more.
Cyber_Freak: Look up.
It still took Ama a moment. The traffic camera. It wasn't pointed at the road anymore. Clever. Amanuma then drew the second burner phone, with the chat app preloaded, out of his bag and tossed it to Control Freak, who was finally getting dressed. He of course fumbled it, and had to pluck it out of the fresh mud. Ama returned his attention to his own phone, reading the latest message to arrive:
Cyber_Freak: What will you do now?
DonutLord: Idk, I don't suspect I can go back to the tower. There's a reason I brought my shroud and jars.
Cyber_Freak: Do you want to know what we're going to do?
DonutLord: Not really. Then I'd be accessory.
Cyber_Freak: Fair enough.
Ama turned again, this time starting to walk away, intent on finding somewhere to rest up. But he didn't get very far before he heard huffing behind him and Control Freak asking, “Wait, wait, Imhotep! Why?”
Amanuma turned to look back at him, seeing he was still struggling to pull his extra large body out of the grave, and replied irritably, “My name is Amunemopet. But I'm pretty sure you know that, and I'm pretty sure you can pronounce it, given all the weird crap I've heard you pronounce.”
Control Freak wiggled gracelessly out onto the grass, panting. Getting up, he tried to brush the mud off his new clothes, “But they call you Ama right? Amanuma? . . . Ama, I just want to know why. Why do I get a mulligan? My death, wasn't I finally out of your non-existant hair?”
“I don't know if they will anymore. . . that's a hero's name. . .” he commented, and looked away thoughtfully, “but then, I'm not sure I've ever been a hero.” He shrugged, “I guess I felt, like in some way, your death might be my fault? Like I should have been able to stop it? Or at least seen the warning signs? I don't know. . . maybe, maybe I even kind of like you. . . I mean, all the time chasing you, when a real villain was under our very roof.”
Control Freak's eyes narrowed angrily, and he shouted, “I am a real villain!”

This Morning
10:08 am
After a brief morning mission involving half a dozen goats and a burning police car, the team was regrouping in the common room for a much deserved brunch. The last four months have been hard. Wonder Boy became a Red Lantern, decimating Control Freak and the team's confidence all in one blow, as well as dooming the former mayor (who'd been kidnapped by Control Freak and locked-up in an undisclosed location). Many of the titans left, while those that remained and newly added reinforcements faced off against Wonder Boy and various other villains.
But things eventually returned to normal; a new mayor was elected, and the Titans team started to pick up the pieces. . . At least until the night Amanuma disappeared, and along with him, Control Freak's body. The implications were pretty clear, Ama had betrayed them and resurrected the two-bit villain. To what end, no one was quite sure, after all, neither of them had been heard from since.
This was a new sore point, but maybe the team (remaining members and new ones) could finally move on with the guilt of Control Freak's death no longer lingering so heavily over them. Robin sent another replacement, Wraith, someone he trusted, and who had a bit of firsthand experience with Amanuma's magic, just encase he should turn up again, on the other side of the law. But so far, he hasn't.
Anyways; the scents of bacon, sausage, eggs, coffee, waffles, and pancakes drifted through the common room, as the Chromium City Titans loaded up their plates. It was time for some good food and team bonding. Because maybe now, they finally had a stable team.
Then of course, everything suddenly went to hell. The lights when out, causing some of the Titans to yelp or exclaim in surprise. Next the enormous TV screen flickered on, revealing in a diagonally split frame, a creepy yellow and red pixel face animation on one side, and Control Freak holding a fancy cup of iced coffee in the other, as well as the corner of a box of donuts in front of him. He grinned psychotically at the camera, “Greetings Titans!”
“I bet you're wondering what's going on,” commented a electronic version of his voice, while the disturbingly animated side of the screen lip synced the words. Control Freak looked at something or someone off screen, commenting softly, “Oh. . . so, we're both doing this part?”
“Well, I just thought, since I've never gotten to do it before,” commented the robotic voice, and Control Freak picking up on the implications of this comment before it was even complete, politely offering, “Oh, of course, go ahead My Greatest Masterpiece.”
Wraith recovering from surprise, stepped out front and center before the screen. He was probably not the bravest or most experienced on the team, but he was sent here by Robin to set a good example, and he sure as hell was going to do it. And thus he confronted them, “Control Freak! So it's true! Amanuma did resurrect you?”
“That he did,” commented Control Freak smugly, while the poorly animated face looked irritable, before shouting, “How rude! You didn't even let me introduce myself! I am. . .”
“Rude? You just interrupted me!” retorted Wraith. The angry face shuttered on the screen and the TV's volume bar appeared, rising up beyond comfortable levels. Then the electronic voice came shouting, “I AM CYBER FREAK! THE NEXT EVOLUTION OF HUMANITY!”
With the team now covering their ears, Wraith shouted back, “Okay, so you're Cyber Freak. Well, what the hell do you two want?”
Control Freak, whipping out his remote, pointed it at the camera, and the volume lowered, before he resumed in his normal low scream, “Well, sure, let's just cut to the chase. You've all been working so hard to keep the city safe. So, we're sending you all on a well deserved vacation. But you won't simply be going by plane or Love Boat. . .”
“Oh right!” commented Cyber Freak, as this was apparently some sort of cue. His avatar then disappeared from the screen, and Control Freak's frame widened to reveal someone sitting on the other side of the table, with a little mug of the blackest black coffee. The thin figure, shroud in bandages was familiar to some of the Titans. Wraith questioned him aloud, “Ama, why?” while someone else shouted, “Traitor! How could you side with the enemy?”
Amanuma, turned, looking into the camera with those glazed over eyes, “Oh no, you misunderstand, my friends. I'm not falling for that good or evil crap anymore. I just accepted a friend's invitation to coffee. If he wants to indulge in this 'battle of good and evil' nonsense, that's really none of my business. Because I don't have a horse in this race. . .”
Just about the time he said race, a thick green mist flooded into the room, knocking out the Titans while they tried to escape.

You awaken on an abandon tropical island alongside your teammates. There is no sign of civilization anywhere, just a lovely beach and a dense jungle, under a hot tropical sun. You still appear to have your powers, however there seems to be a force-field around the island that prevents you from flying/swimming/running/teleporting/etc more then 20 ft out/up from the island. This is clearly the forced 'vacation' the Freaks were talking about. . .

MINE:
Civilian Name: Dennis Harrison
*(Technically, Dark Cloud is also Dennis Harrison, but he probably won't be showing up, so don't worry about him.)
Superhero Name: Wraith
Age: 19 (physically 16)
Gender: Male (straight)
Powers/Gadgets:
Wraith got his powers in a freak lab accident, where he was essentially fractured throughout time-space:
1.) Can become intangible - Wraith is able to pass through solid objects, walls, and people. However he cannot pickup/touch/hit anyone or anything while intangible (he can make stuff intangible with him, such as his staff and drop-bag, and even people). In this state, he is still visible but may look misty. He also must consciously decide to do it, therefore he can still be hit by any reasonably quick attack.
- Though he must consciously decide to go fully intangible, sometimes Wraith's fingertips will appear to brush through objects.
- Wraith has found he can use this intangible state for transport as well. Others may see him as a black mist when he moves like this, but he'd really not changed shape at all, just accelerating his particles forward quickly (or in whatever direction he chooses).
- It may be possible that he could effective either possess or hid inside of someone else, but Wraith has the decency not to have tried this. . . yet.
2.) Precognition and Recognition - Wraith is not fully in control of this power, but when he touches objects, he'll often get a flash vision of the past of future of that object. This works for people too, and can be useful in a fight, or for finding them. It can also make him disoriented and dizzy. - He also often has nightmares about past and future events.
3.) Quantum Entangled/Undead (aka Practical Immortality) - Wraith is quantum entangled with the other half of Dennis Harrison (Dark Cloud), rendering them a sort of Schrodinger’s Cat. As long a the two do not have injuries in the same place the injury splits between the pair, healing them faster. Because of this, they would also both have to die at the exact same time to stay dead.
- But this actually has happened, though Wraith doesn't know how Dark Cloud died, he was shot by a supervillainess. Fortunately for him though, Amanuma was able to resurrect him shortly afterward. Or maybe unfortunately, since he now often wakes up screaming from nightmares of being shot, in addition to the nightmares he already had. Of course, Dark Cloud was not simultaneously resurrected, and so the pair are now simultaneously both dead and not dead (aka undead).
4) Wooden Staff - A 5ft long wooden pole, topped with a large wooden skull painted white. The skull throws off the balance, so only someone who's practiced can use it effectively. Wraith has some training in martial arts, which allow him to utilize this weapon properly. It's also useful just for tripping people.
5) Retractable Back-Up Staff - Constructed from titanium, this staff is practically identical to the one Robin uses. Even if the wooden one breaks, this one probably won't. Attached to his drop bag.
6) Drop Bag - Like Batman's utility belt, this double strapped cross between and murse and belt is super useful. Contents include; cell phone, communicator, hand sanitizer, zip ties, mini notebook & pencil, evidence bags, pepper spray, lighter, half a dozen receipts he really should throw away, etc. . .
Appearance:
Wraith looks just like his name. He is a short and wispy phantasmal creature, about 4’ 2” (which is why some people tack Mini or Little onto his name, much to his annoyance), and dark grey in color. His blood is also nearly black, making it hard to tell if he is bleeding, unless it's so bad there's blood splatter.
His face is kind a square, with a wide jaw, a small upturned nose, and slightly pointed ears. His eyes are a bit large and almond-shaped, glowing a vivid shade of crimson red, with hard to distinguish irises and pupils. They may give off enough light to act as a weak flashlight for someone nearby, but they might also be giving off radiation, so maybe don't use him as a flashlight just in case. Wispy hair, the same color as the rest of him, sweeps back over his scalp, sticking up in odd spikes.
His hands have long boney fingers, the tips of which sometimes appear to pass right through solid objects even when he’s not trying to use his powers. This is because some small part of him exists outside of time and so his corporeal body can ‘remember’ a time when that object is not present.
Wraith's usual clothing consists of a black t-shirt and athletic shorts underneath a cloak pinned closed with a gold moon or star shaped pin. He has a few cloaks, which are blood red, green, and orange. Strapped over one shoulder and around his waist, is his light brown, leather drop bag. He does not wear socks or shoes, ever. He hates them, and is no longer around his mom, who used to force him to wear them.
Wraith has no civilian outfit, for obvious reasons.
Personality:
When Dennis Harrison had his accident, he was divided into two quantum entangled entities; Wraith and Dark Cloud. Wraith got most of Dennis' good, moral, and responsible traits. He has a strong notion of right and wrong, and always tries to do with what's right. He emphatic, tending to care and worry about people, even ones he's never met before. . . unless they are harming others. In which case he feels a strong desire to see justice.
Mentally, Wraith is 18, even f his body hasn't changed. Over the past three years, he has gained in confidence and self-esteem, though he can still be kind of shy and pretty jumpy. He doesn't like when people stare at him in public, but he has gotten used to it. Though he may still lash out if people actively make fun of him, since he tends to bottle his feelings about that up. He's also become braver recently, but being effectively immortal can do that for you.
He is still a somewhat troubled individual however, as he has suffered permanent psychological damage due to his scientific accident, the constant nightmares, and his own death. He has trouble sleeping, and will often be tired. He also holds a special brand guilt, because he feels like being a precog, he should be able to spot more danger then he actually does.
History:
Dennis Harrison was an average guy. For 15 years he lived in a relatively normal family; mother, father, little sister, and a big mix breed dog. His mom made a little money from selling real estate, but his father was really the bread winner, a highly paid scientist who ran experiments with a particle accelerator, among other things. Then one day, shortly after he turned 16, while he was visiting his father's lab, there was a freak accident with an experiment that was supposed to measure for time differences on a micro level. In the resulting explosion, Dennis was exposed to high dosages of rare radiation. Instead of dying quickly or developing cancer like the rest of the people present, Dennis’ mind was thrown out of time, resulting in a personality split, with physical repercussions, as well as an altered appearance and physiology for both halves of him. They had developed strange time-related powers, as well as eyes that glow as if still radioactive.
With his father deathly ill, and afraid of how his mother and sister saw him, Wraith ran off (Dark Cloud ran off too, but presumably for other reasons). He spent a bit of aimless time avoiding people’s glares and hiding in abandon buildings. But when that inevitably got old, he took to nighttime crime fighting, with some martial art and detective training from a local rodent-themed vigilante duo. The pair were a college English professor and a lab assistant during the day, so they also took it upon themselves to see that Wraith still got an education, tutoring him when possible. In many ways they became surrogate dads to him.
Eventually he would 'strike out on his own', and encounter the Teen Titans, becoming an honorary member. His confronting a supervillainess and being shot, actually occurred during a Teen Titans mission. He had been tracking her after a string of robberies and confronted her during a traffic jam, assuming she had nowhere to run. And having nowhere to run, she fought back instead, pulling a gun on him. Unfortunately, Dark Cloud was killed at that same moment, rendering them both permanently dead. Or it would have, luckily or unluckily, Amanuma was also assisting the Teen Titans at the time, and was able to resurrect him.
After being resurrected, Wraith took a little time off from crime fighting, keeping a low profile and staying with some friends for a couple of months, while he processed everything that had happened. Until being contacted by Robin to assist the Chromium City Titans after Amanuma disappeared, along with Control Freak's body. Wraith therefore, has been with the team for about 3 weeks now, offering some much needed moral support and team direction.

2:00 pm

Contents include; cell phone, communicator, hand sanitizer, zip ties, mini notebook & pencil, evidence bags, pepper spray, lighter, half a dozen receipts he really should throw away, etc. . .
