This RPG is the sequel to “Control Freaks Contest Royal”, and as such is also based on the first Teen Titans cartoon series (as opposed to Teen Titans Go and Young Justice. . . or any of the comics), and takes place sometime after the episode “For Real”. It is open to new players, and you don’t really have to know anything about the show to play (it's pretty much basic, you're a superhero/villain fare), but those who have watched it (or relates series, or read any of the comics) may drop spoilers, so you’ve been warned. It will also probably be a little more serious in nature than Contest Royal was.
The previous installment was listed as PG-13, but I'm boosting this to R (recommended age, 17+) due to the violent events that led up to it, and the seriousness of the plot. Please note that this rating is not to be use as an excuse to go crazy. Also, if your characters are going to be intimate, please use discretion and 'fade to black' when necessary.

Control Freak is dead. The Teen Titans team of Chromium City is fractured; in turmoil over the events of the past few days. One of them actually killed someone. Not just a monster, but a person. One of them actually killed a person. A criminal yes, but a person.
Let's rewind. . .
Two months ago, a Teen Titans tower was erected in Chromium City, it was to serve as the headquarters for young heroes, in their battle against the city's high crime rates. The city has a a high rate of migrant criminals, due to it’s close proximity to Jump City, where the original Teen Titans tower is located (the original team in this version being Robin, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Raven, and Starfire).
But before our young heroes could even get comfortable in their new home, they were challenge by the chubby, pop culture fan, villain, Control Freak (self proclaimed master of all media). He 'challenged' the team to a 'Contest Royal' (though there's some suspicion that he doesn't. . . er, didn't actually understand what a Contest Royal is), in which he set-up several nightmare scenarios around the city that they had to solve. The challenges were frustrating and long, and left the Titans little time for rest, taking a heavy toll on them. Some more then others. The Amazonian raised boy, Wonder Boy, ultimately killed Control Freak in a spectacular fit of sleep deprived demi-god rage, attracting a Red Ring (a powerful artifact which uses the wearer's rage as it's power source; from the Green Lantern universe). After which he gave a mighty battle cry and flew off into the cosmos.
The team is fractured. With the enraged Wonder Boy off to worlds unknown, and many of the rest of them deeply traumatized, picking up the pieces has been hard. Not to mention Control Freak was the only one that knew where the mayor was (Control Freak kidnapped the mayor, and dressed up as him, as part of the final challenge).
It's been two months, no one wants to say it, but they all know the mayor is dead. But what they lack is closure. They don't know if Control Freak killed him, or if he died as a result of starvation, exposure, or asphyxiation after Control Freak kicked it. They just don't have a body (a few even believe that Control Freak was the mayor all along, which would still mean he was dead). The search for him is ongoing, but any hope of him being alive when they found him died weeks ago, when a new mayor was been sworn in to fill the rest of his term.
It won't be long though. Campaigns are already underway for the next election, and while there are some promising new candidates, there's a lot of nervous tension about the election. Current favorite is Tyana Bell, a middle aged African-American woman, who has been in politics most her life, and whose biggest selling point is improving local schools. Close behind her is Reverend Cory N. Airy, a retired traditionalist preacher, who is making a big stand about improving public services; transportation, sanitation, and sewage. And falling in behind them is Trey Poly, former Lebanese chef, and newcomer to the political scene, who is rallying for new business laws in order to boost the economy.
But as always there is concern, mostly because of underground chatter that Brother Blood may be trying to rig the elections. Though no one is quite sure for who and why.
Of course, this whole charade hasn't helped with the crime problem. Chromium City is now heralded in dark circles as the place to be if you're a planning to commit a crime (especially if you believe the rumors about Brother Blood being in town). The political unrest, the loss of heroes, their shattered confidence and lack of teamwork, all of it contributes to the problem. New criminals are moving into the city every day.
But there is hope. There is always hope. After being contacted by Amanuma, one of the remaining heroes, and being filled in on the situation, Robin has dispatched reinforcements to the Chromium City tower, they should start arriving any day now. They may still have a chance to get things back on track. . . before it turns into all out WAR.

To recap:
You can play as:
- A returning hero
- A new hero
- A new villain (or freelancer)
- A returning hero turned villain/freelancer (looking at you Schade)
(If you want to play as anything else, like a cop, run it by me first, we need to make sure there will be stuff for you to do.)
Goals:
- Heroes are trying to lower crime rates. Meanwhile, Villains/Freelancers are doing whatever they want. Conflict between the two are common, and more brutal then in the past. Large scale battles may ensue.
- Heroes may also take on the task of looking for whatever is left of the former mayor. I suppose Villains could do this too, but why?
- Heroes may also want to look into the rumors surrounding the upcoming elections. Villains, eh, you can have at this as well, if it serves your purposes.
Additional:
- Control Freak's remote has been dismantled. If you want it you have to find all the pieces and put them back together.

Super Name: Amanuma
Civilian Name(s), Secret Identity: Amunemopet (Real), Dexter Johnson (Alias)
(While Amanuma’s true name is Amunemopet, and he lets others call him Amanuma because it’s easier for them to pronounce, and Dexter Johnson was a name he uses online and undercover, but Control Freak kind of messed that up for him, and he needs to work out a new alias.
Faction: Hero
Gender: Male
Age: 18 in appearance, but a couple thousand years older in reality…
Powers, Gadgets, and Skills:
Amanuma’s powers are twofold, he has ancient Egyptian sorcery he learned in life, and the power to manipulate his bandages to wrap-up enemies and create tripwires.
1) His Bandages - Amanuma has a finite (limited) amount of bandages, once they run out he is left with nothing to manipulate, and wearing only his loincloth and thick gold bead and ankh necklace (or whatever he’d been wearing aside from bandages). The amount of bandages he wears is enough to cocoon an average size man in two neat layers, needless to say such neat wrapping are hard to do in battle, and Amanuma generally only considers it as a last resort. He could probably also grab something with them if he really needed to, or use them as a shortcut up/down stairs.
2) His spells (See history) - Despite having turned his back on the religion he once devoted his whole being to, and in fact all religions, Amanuma still has the ability to use the magic he learned as a priest. However he can only use two spells at a time. Most of his spells pertain to the deity Sobek:
- Manipulation of water; flow, pressure, floods, rain.
- Healing; minor and major (patient can be undead or alive), even resurrection in certain circumstances.
- Crocodiles/Reptiles; summoning, soothing/influencing, affinity.
- Repelling Evil; weak spell that discourages evil creatures from coming closer.
- Illusions; giant reptiles, Ammut, other monsters, self-disguise.
- He can summon a giant crocodile (Gi), and a pterodactyl (Kita), for travel purposes.
3) Amanuma is also somewhat skilled in several martial arts, which he learned post-mortem, limiting his ability to get better at them somewhat, since he can’t actually get stronger or improve his reaction time, only memorize the movements better so his performance of them is smoother. His natural reaction time isn’t bad though.
4) Also, he knows at least four languages; Ancient Egyptian, English, Japanese, and Spanish.
Personality:
Though Amanuma is best described as bitter and disillusioned, he has a good heart (which is pretty much the only organ he has left) and will help anyone who’s in trouble.
Amanuma was disappointed to be woken back into this world, and has since taken a severely atheist point of view, but he lets others believe as they will, and only points out his beliefs when it is relevant to the conversation. Which isn’t to say he’s non-confrontational, because in fact, he can be one mean son of a. . . well, you get the idea. . . he just doesn’t care what others believe.
Actually, he can be quite kind at times, looking out for his friends and fellow heroes, though friendship with him usually comes with a heavy dose of tough love. Amanuma tends to be unintentionally emotionally abusive, as he finds nothing wrong with pointing out (and making fun of) the flaws of others or their creations. But it doesn’t mean he doesn’t like you, it’s simply that his bitterness and disillusionment tend to inhibit his ability to be tactful most of the time. Despite this, Amanuma is very polite when meeting new people (with a few exceptions), suspiciously polite. And continued politeness may be a sign that he, in fact, doesn’t like you.
Amanuma is also fairly knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects, having traveled and studied in several countries, in addition to having been part of the educated class in his time. Of the things he once valued, little more than the desire for continued learning has survived.
Currently he's battling a bit of depression after seeing a dead man fall out of the sky, and experiencing the corresponding fracture of his team and spike in crime rate. He's a bit more reserved and introverted then usual.
Appearance:
Amanuma’s appearance is for all practical purposes, that of a horror movie style mummy, complete with glazed milky white eyes. Anyone familiar with Egyptology will note that real mummies are generally not wrapped that way, however Amanuma needs the free range of motion this style of wrapping provides in order to move, and has thus adopted them. Over his bandages he wears a thick elaborate necklace of gold beads with an ankh shaped charm, as well as a white loincloth with a djed charm attached to it. Sometimes he carries a faded multi-color over the shoulder bag he got in Mexico.
A few of Amanuma’s distinguishing features can still be made out through the bandages, including his square jaw and long hands. Due to a slight curve in his spine, Amanuma’s right shoulder appears to sit lower than his left most of the time.
Under his wrappings Amanuma has deep brown leather-like skin, withered and shriveled tight on his skeletal frame. He’s also got a long cut down his left side where his organs where removed. Without his wrapping further details of his face can be seen, his partially decomposed nose, and traces of black and green make-up still clinging to the skin around his eyes. Keeping with some standard of decency, Amanuma usually wears a pair of cat patterned pajama boxers when out of his bandages.
Amanuma does not smell of full-on decay, but still has a slight unpleasant scent, something like poorly made jerky (ooc: yes, I actually have smelled a mummy, science is fun). He does not eat (his stomach is not even present in his body), but he does drink sterilized (via boiling to reduce bacteria) liquids such as tea and coffee, to help keep his body from getting too brittle, and thus ripping/breaking when he moves (with his water magic helping to prevent further decay).
When formerly disguised as Dexter, he cast a spell over himself to look alive again. It’s a fairly complicated bit of magic somewhat out of his comfort zone, and therefore has a few weak points, such as his reflection still being that of a mummy, and his brown eyes not being completely free of their usual milky glaze. The effect is fairly good overall though, as he looks like a tall dark-skinned teen with some distinctive features. Both his square jaw and slightly curved spine are more his green polo and jeans than they were in bandages, but his hands and limbs fleshed out a little, look a lot less spindly and awkward than they normally do. Actually, the bandages are still there under the clothes that he traded his loincloth and thick necklace for, but they’re enchanted so the viewer thinks they see skin. White socks and black sneakers complete the disguise.
History:
Amanuma was once a priest in the temple of Sobek (the crocodile headed god who offered protection from crocodiles, fertilized the Nile, dispelled evil, and could cure illness), pretty high up in the hierarchy too despite his young age, but he was killed when rebels broke into the temple and attacked several members of the priesthood.
Amanuma was mummified, wrapped in a red shroud (being a priest), and place in a tomb to await his journey to the afterlife. It never came, instead he was reawakened when 19th century archeologists broke into his tomb. Concerned that his writhing corpse was a sign that someone had been attacked and dressed as a mummy in some sort of prank or robbery, the archeologists unwrapped him, then ran in horror as they realized that he really was a mummy.
It was that day Amanuma lost all his faith in there being any power beyond humanity and magic. Afterward, he traveled the Earth, trying to find some new purpose for his life, or rather afterlife. He traveled to England and then America, the countries the archeologists had come from, to see if perhaps their universities and scholars had stumbled upon some revelation or answer for his continued existence, but there were none to be found. He studied martial arts with a Japanese master as a means of trying to find inner peace (where he picked up the nickname Amanuma). And though he learned to fight with a higher degree of skill (he couldn’t actually get stronger, being dead), the inner peace never came. He later journeyed to Mexico where legends of reanimated dead and mythical beast abounded. He was treated as a local celebrity in the town where he stayed, but never ran into anyone like himself. There were mummies there, but none that could walk or talk.
Eventually he turned to fighting crime as an outlet for his pent up frustration. He may no longer believe in the Egyptian gods, but he still wishes to do good for society. He originally joined an organization called Hero House (with a young marital artist he’d met, Banpei), but finding it crude and disorganized, he eventually left to fight crime solo, but eventually joined the Teen Titans after meeting Robin.
The events since then have kind of been a nightmare, with Control Freak tormenting them until Archie totally lost it and beat the guy to death, traumatizing the rest of the team. Ama seemed to be holding it together, checking that Control Freak was indeed dead, and contacted Robin the next day, explaining the horrors and securing back-up. But a few days later, after witnessing the scene of a gang shooting, Ama decided, “I can't live in this world anymore.” (Nevermind the fact that he wasn't actually alive.)
He formed Gi's summoning/dismissal circle around himself and was transported to another space-time, one where giant reptiles and dinosaurs roamed freely. He felt a lot better after a couple hours wandering this primitive land with Gi, and made several return trips in the weeks that followed. He knew to steer clear of the dinosaurs, since they were birds rather then reptiles, but they made a few new friends, including a injured pterodactyl, whose loyalty Ama earned by healing her wing.
