TM/HM's discussion for D/P

I want a manaphy

Pokemon Breeder
Hello everyone.
I now I am a "Beginning Trainer" but that does not mean I am a beginner to pokemon, or forums. Now knowing that, this a thread to discuss what TM's and HM might possibly exsist in D/P. Not a thread to make some really powerful TM that'll let you win whenever.

i.e: they will probably have HM Dive.

The HMs will probably only change a little, maybe the removal of Dive or Waterfall because of Shinou's lack of water routes. The TMs that have always been the same, like Hyper Beam and Earthquake, will probably stay the same. Also, TM01 will probably be a punch again. In RBY, it was Mega Punch, then in GSC it was DynamicPunch and it was Focus Punch in the current generation.

Have you seen the region? There are verry few sea routes, so I doubt that Dive will make an HM appearance in these games. (It's more likely for Whirlpool to make a comeback, but even that's slim.) I'm expecting that, if there aren't just 7 HMs, that the eighth will have something to do with caves, considering how it's been announced that Shin'ō will have an extensive tunnel system. Maybe an HM to cross over pits?

As for TMs, considering that the games have to be compatible with the third-gen RPGs, they pretty much have to support the existing 50 TMs (since they can be held and traded). The simplest way to do this and still add new TMs is to simply use more numbers. I'm expecting the TMs will top off at 99.

With the type/stat schism to consider, I'm expecting that many TMs will contain missing "physical special" moves, such as the elemental punches. (There's now a very good reason to bring them back as TMs.)

The tms for thunder, fire blast, blizzard, and Solarbeam have remained the same, and I think it will stay that way. We may keep the beam-class tms, and I think we will also keep rain dance and sunny day. And let's not forget hidden power.

I hope they get rid of waterfall and dive and rock smash and cut. In fact, the oinly TM's I like is surf. They should make surfing, strengthing etc a natural abiblity for pokemon. Like if a pokemon has a strong physical build it can automatically use strength. Or if its a water pokemon it can automatically use surf and stuff. You still have to get the badges to be able to use them though. I just dont like including HMs in movesets.Especially how i had to load my swampert with waterfall, surf, and dive.

They will most likely keep sunny day and rain dance. after all Manaphy and Cherimu's effect only work if those TM's are in effect in battle

What 'bout My Star?
I thing for the Extensive tunnel thingie, Dig may become an honorary HM.

maybe dig will become a HM and have a differe out of battle effect like go down a floor maybes to get into the underground areas, maybe the places yu can dig will be in darker areas in soil like the water where yu can dive

there will might be one called solid plant; on page 109 of the emerald guide(nintendo power) it says there is an attack called that but it is not in the attack list

I don't want whirlpool, dive, cut, flash, and rocksmash to return. They weren't that good attacks and there was really no point in having them. It's kind of hard to explain but if you had a pokemon with that HM move you would use it and really doesn't make a difference in the game. Do you get what I'm saying?

The first five HMs: Cut, Fly, Surf, Strengh, and Flash will most likely remain the same. Rock Smash may stay an HM and I wouldn't mind it if Dig became an HM. They can do away with Waterfall and Dive for all I care. I hope they don't bring back Whirlpool as well.

If you have a Chikorita/Evolutions from XD with Frenzy Plant, or the FR/LG Bulbasaur/Evolutions with Frenzy Plant, trade them to Ruby/Sapphire. Frenzy Plant is called Solid Plant there.

Ancient Power is one of my favourite moves (As is Silver Wind, same effect), so either of them as TMs will be amazing.

if the change in attack/special attack mechanic is true, there could be a possibility of creating the physical versions of the elemental beam TM's. and what would happen to the original TM's, you'd ask: they'd be found in the gba games. And since most pokemon from d/p are related to previous games (the ones already released, that is), you could simply trade the old pokemon to the gba carts for you to teach them the elemental beams. That way, UU pokemon like Agron can finally use the physical version of flamethrower.
