TM's?

Ledyba

I sleep with bugz.
What are TM's? CD's? I dont understand that. How can you give a CD to a Pokémon? What do you guys think?

I don't know... in FR/LG they took the form of CD's... but otherwise I don't know. I always assumed the trainer taught the Pokemon a TM instead of a device doing it.

Its a CD that teaches it how to use that move.
Or maybe you can put in their mouth or something.

They have CD icons in DPPt as well. It was once theorized that the CD was inserted into the Teachy TV to display the move for the Pokemon, but this doesn't seem too likely. TM stands for technical machine, so perhaps it's just too technical for us to comprehend?

Once you were lost.
Actually, Pokemon are actually robots who are able to insert cds and read the data on it. They see some kind of tutorial how to do a certain attack, and then are able to do it themselves.

My real guess is the tutorialthing, but they... race to the closest dvdplayer to watch it? If you're able to walk into random people's houses, why not?

Yeah, well...

I always assumed that you just ram the CD through the Pokemons skull.
In theory, the brain would have a disk drive attached for such uses.

I always thought the Pokemon ate it and learned the moves XD

That's still my theory.

Dragoon952

The Winter Moth
I always assume it was a Matrix-esque thing. I don't know how the Pokemon are "stored" in pokeballs, but I figured it was some transfer that way while they are in there.

Take the animation from FireRed & LeafGreen. You put a disc to a pokemon's head and magically and/or scientifically a pokemon absorbs the information stored in it.

Hello
You need to use your imagination.

You put it in a player, hook it up to your Pokemon via wires and suction cups and then press play. Or maybe it's a instructional video on disc.

I think its like acid
you put it on the pokemon and it goes threw its pores then BAM you learn a new move

Actually, the ramming through the skull theory arguably explains why TM's break, but HM's dont.
The HM's are clearly made out of a stronger material that doesn't crack after you smash it through the noggin.

So the trainer eats the TM?

The CD kills the Pokemon then they come back alive with a new move.

I think that the CD contains downloaded energy for the move and when exposed to a pokemon, the energy for the new move escapes from the CD into the pokemon. (That's my theory anyways)

I always thought that the TM was "absorbed" by the pokemon, somehow, and then it just knew the move.

This is a scan from one of the old pokemon mangas that I have and it might clear up some confusion but probably not since I'm still confused myself on why they're cd/dvd's now.

It may look like a disk but what if it's not? What if it'slike a pill or something that looks like a Paracetamol teblet with hole through it? Like a drug? Feed it to a Pokémon and they know it. Again, just a guess like everyone else's.
