To make all games canon

I have a theory.

we know theres more then 1 of each legendary (read my other thread)
In Red your a boy in blue your a girl, your rivalis green.

Green loses to Red so many times, so he decides after the pokemon league to start again, thats when Blue comes into it and he loses to her and stops there.

In yellow your ash, who beats gary the grandson of professer oak, and you beat him.

Giavani gets beat by red but dosent give up but then he gets beat by blue and then ash, so then he gives up, but team rocket continues.

Gold meets the ??? rival, who isant silver in the games, beats team rocket gary and ash, then silver ( who was rourmered to be cooltrainer male) does the same after and rival starts agai by stealing another pokemo thinking the other is defective.

Then crystal, does the same and team rocket gives up (for now) and rival steals the 3rd poke from the lab.

Ruby the girl in ruby beats team magma and saphir beats aqua and emerald later beats both may and brenden are just small rivals of them.

who agrees?

same would apply for diamond and pearl.

The Pokémon games that you play, where you are the main character are not canon to any story ever.

The Pokemon mangas have their own canon, which are the books.

The Pokemon animé has it's own canon, which are the episodes.

Wikipedia defines canon as such:

In the context of fiction, the canon of a fictional universe comprises those novels, stories, films, etc. that are considered to be genuine (or "official"), and those events, characters, settings, etc. that are considered to have inarguable existence within the fictional universe. In order for the fictional universe to appear cohesive, especially in fictions that contain multiple parts, both creators and audiences sometimes find it useful to define what has and has not "actually happened" in that universe. Usually items that are considered canon come from the original source of the fictional universe while non-canon material comes from adaptations, spin-offs or unofficial items, often in different media.

I agree. I mean, I see the Games/Manga/Anime as different 'universes'.

The Anime don't really follow the games well, even in Kanto their was alot of things change.

The Manga to. I mean, the Manga follows the Games more than the Anime, but even then, their is alot of things change.

As for the Games 'canon', I do think that they have some what of a 'canon'. In G/S/C people were saying three years ago, a trainer came and stop Team Rocket, their talking about, of course, the main hero of R/B. Pulse, even in remakes, there are some hints. Like in FR/LG, in the Sevii Islands, whenever you beat that Rocket Admin, he saids something about bringing back Team Rocket. I forgot his name.(if he had one.) If he did have a name I wonder if it is the same as the leader of Neo Team Rocket, in G/S/C.

Then again, look at Koga's daughter, I think she has a different name in G/S/C and FR/LG right?

Anyway, I think the Games do have some what of a 'canon'.

To thread creator: WHY don't you have Green version in your sig???

But on topic, i think they should of done this with Fr/Lg. Instead of just a remake, they could've added new events and stuff to make it fit into the storyline (if that's what you mean).

The thing is that these games are not in chronological order, and different versions pretty much reflect the same reality. Basically, every Pokémon game for a particular generation is telling the same story, just with minor variations. For example, the Red version is also the Blue version, Green version, and probably the Yellow version too; they in turn share the reality of the FireRed and LeafGreen versions. There aren't five trainers going around, one after the other, and doing the exact things. Its just the same story--told six different ways.

Also, it seems like the Hoenn story takes place around the same time as Kanto, since Celio doesn't need some sort of time machine to trade between FRLG and RSE. That would mean that Johto takes place after all of these, since they make it clear it occurs a few years after Kanto.

Pokemon games are ment for the 7 year old kids who cant follow a story line. Hence why the character is so undefined. You run around catch pokemon, lvl them up, trade, battle, beat the elite four... end... the 7 year old kids are happy with that, and they dont need some detailed story line to follow to enjoy the game, and they wont make games more detailed because they would not sell as much. Try getting a 7 year old kid to play an MMORPG. I know adults play the game, and thats great.. pokemon is fun, but be satisfied on what it's like, because it's not going to get much more detailed...
